We dine at the Ponderosa on Route 11, North Syracuse, NY quite often as it is not far from our home. The prices are a bit higher than the previous review stated. Currently (October 2010) the dinner buffet costs about $9.50 for adults and $8.50 for Seniors. Sodas (Pepsi products) are $1.99 with unlimited free refills. There are always a great selection of meats, salads, sides, breads and desserts. We keep going back....that's a good sign! It's a great family restaurant with very attentive servers.

Ponderosa Steak House offers a full buffet of items from things like chicken wings, pizza slices, meatballs, salads of all kinds, Mexican foods, and much more. They also have full meals including steak dinners, chicken, and seafood. Their prices are decent for an all you can eat restaurant.

You can expect to pay $4.99 for the lunch buffet and $6.99 for the dinner one. The meals range from $10 to $14 (buffet included in all meals). Drinks are $1.59 with free refills.

The meals and drinks are served to you by a waitress or a waiter and they are there for anything you might need during the meal. The Buffet Bar is serve yourself of course and unlimited. The staff comes by and takes empty plates from the table often.

There is also a dessert buffet consisting of soft serve ice cream and a variety of cakes, pies, puddings, and Jell-O. You can make a full sundae with the many fixings available and this is also included in the price of the Buffet Bar. For those who may be cutting carbs or sugar, they do offer some sugar free desserts and low carb items.

The surroundings -- buffet area, tables, booths, chairs, and restrooms, are clean. It's important to me to that the restaurant I eat in is tidy, clean, and not in disrepair. Another good thing about Ponderosa is that they don't haul out the broom or vacuum while people are eating. I don't like to eat while someone is sweeping dusty junk off the floor three feet from me and the employees are careful not to do that while consumers are eating.

Food items on the buffet change constantly from day to day and week to week and there are many specials and coupons in the local newspaper to save you $$!

A good choice for hungry people or those who like variety. They are often very busy so expect a wait at peak times.

PROS: Huge variety of foods on buffet bar, clean, friendly staff
CONS: You may have to wait for a table at peak dinner times
