Very expensive but also the best pumkin pie I have ever tasted. They bake their own stuff everyday, and I can smell it in the neighborhood. Their baked goods are not very sweet, which is great, and they use high quality ingredients. Even if you are scared away by their price, head over there for a small pie or bread. Its all worth it.
PROS: Tasty food
CONS: You'll go bankrupt if you shop here regularly

Eli's Manhattan is so much fun to walk around, especially when you're hungry and you have a lot of money in your pocket. The prices are high, but the quality it top notch. Their produce is beautiful, their prepared foods are tremendous in their selection and deliciousness, and their bakery is world class! Eli's bread is exported all over the place and the reason is that it is unbeatable. I highly recommend any of their baked products; you will not be disappointed.

This place is ridiculous. I cannot believe how expensive this place is. Yeah, good specialty items, etc, but the items are priced at almost $4 more than anywhere else. They were selling mini pineapples for $7 a piece while Manhattan Fruit Exchange was selling them for $3!

Since I moved to the east side I've been relying on Eli's more than Zabars. They are both similar and may actually be owned by the same people (not sure). They make great platters for picnics or parties in the park. Their selection of gourmet foods is great and their sandwiches are delicious. You can actually find a lot of their food being sold at local coffee shops.
