Take-out is prompt, but the delivery guy always have a scowl on his face and isn't too friendly. The salads and cheeses are always good, but the pasta can be under or over cooked and sauces are generally very watery. Prices are very high for the actual quality of the food. I only order from this place when nothing else is open. The local Dominos had better pasta

I have had take out for the last 3 years from goodfellow, and each time my order was delivered fresh, tasty, and clean, I have never encounterd any problems in that time, and I order from a lot of other places in Bay Ridge, where it they don't make a mistake is beacause the owner took the order, in other words these places always screw up the order Now my kids tell me another story that they tried it with me and their order Chicken Parm hero, tasted really bad like spoiled cheese or the meat, and since then they have never ordered from them. They are not so forgiving for bad tasting food the prices are competitive but they make a mean pie...

Pros: Best Pizza bread,

Cons: food can be unaccetable at times

There are plenty of Italian restaurants in Bay Ridge, so there is absolutely no reason to ever go to Goodfella's. I've been to this restaurant many times, and every time I've gone I've ordered the gnocchi, but last night it was absolutely terrible. The gnocchi was spongy and severely undercooked. I don't like to complain because I've worked in the service industry for many years and I know the servers aren't responsible for cooking the food but because my order was totally inedible, I told the server that the food wasn't good and I couldn't eat it. She didn't ask me what I didn't like about it, didn't offer an explanation, and didn't apologize for the food, she just took the plate away and asked me what else I wanted. The server didn't give me a menu in order to decide, she just stood there holding the plate of gnocchi above my head and staring down at me waiting for me to answer her. I ordered spaghetti without a fuss, and while I waited my fellow diners shared their dinners with me. By the time she brought the spaghetti to the table, I'd already eaten a makeshift meal and asked her to pack the spaghetti to go. I got the feeling that food complaints are not allowed in this restaurant, and that the server was at the end of her shift and just wanted us to leave so she could go home. She was a poor example of someone fit to be in the food industry, unconcerned with customer satisfaction and unapologetic. I know this to be a direct reflection of business ownership, which is a shame because food is their business and they should be concerned about food quality and customer satisfaction. Sadly, I have seen the patronage of this establishment dwindle over the years, and after last night it will dwindle a bit more. I will never return to this restaurant, and I advise anyone looking for Italian Cuisine in Bay Ridge Brooklyn to look elsewhere.

I really liked the food and the service at Goodfellas. It has good Italian food and American style cooking. Everything was fresh and tasty and the staff was very cordial and caring. The only bad part is that parking is awful in this area.

This place is an absolute dump. We went in a group for Brooklyn Restaurant week and it was a mess from the beginning. We were seated right up against the band they had playing, and were bumped in the back and head with plates every time waitresses tried to squeeze in between our table and the giant drum set. We were given cold, stale bread and the service was slloooowww. Half our table got our entrees while the rest just sat around waiting until theirs were brought out 15-minutes later.

The food itself was nauseating. A few of us ordered filet of sole which was black, brown and red inside. The pasta it came with was also extremely sour and bitter. When we told the management about this we were simply told, "There ain't nuttin wrong wid it." They were more interested in keeping up their "Goodfellas" tough guy images than actually helping customers.

Each of us was also supposed to get to choose our own dessert as stated on the Restaurant Week menu, yet we were instead brought out a pile of mushy ice cream. One of the choices was a Tortufo, and without even asking our waitress brought us out a plate of a single Tortufo cut into tiny slivers for everyone to share. There was no way that was happening when we were paying restaurant week prices! The waitress told us that they have family style desserts if the entire table gets the Restaurant Week menu, which was the opposite of what was stated on the actual menu. It was their way of having an entire table share a single dessert to rip us off even farther.

Don't even get me started on the valet parking. It's advertised that the valet parking's in a secure lot, yet our car was illegally parked on the street. After waiting 20-minutes in the cold for the valet to get our car (after he refused giving us our keys to get it ourselves) our entire back bumper was scratched the the license plate cover was completely cracked in half. Instead of explaining himself, the young, reckless kid simply cursed at my father. We went to get help from the Goodfella's management, who again did nothing but yell at us. We actually got the police involved, who were extremely helpful and informed us that the valet parking was completely illegal.

If you need any more information on the food, while we were trying to get the parking situation handled a man walked out of the restaurant and proceeded to get sick all over the front entrance, where one of the waiters then sloshed around in it before going back in to serve food, and guests continued to step in it since no one ever bothered to clean it up.

The place is a bonafide DUMP! With so many good Italian restaurants in Brooklyn, stay far, far away!

I've always found Goodfella's to be a little pricey for the quality of the food. This is the stereotypical "italian" american type menu which is fine..sometimes we all just want some eggplant parmigiana. however, they charge more than average for these very ordinary dishes and the portions aren't all that. I feel like this tyype of food should be family style or at least allow you to bring home leftovers. I'm used to Brooklyn Italian restaurants having plates that can feed at least two people. The last time i went (on Halloween) my dad's veal marsala was literally about 6 bites of super thin veal. My dad wasn't full and he does NOT have a big appetite. it's almost as if the food it's made for tourists even though i know it's not...Another issue is the service...the last time i was there, there were only THREE tables taken and yet the service was super slow and the waitress was not paying attention....they are always friendly but inattentive...and i'd rather have a waiter that will get my order RIGHT instead of chitchatting me all thru the meal and screwing up the order. Bonuses here are the garlic bread, and the fried calamari...as far as i'm concerned there is only ONE reason to go here and it's the chicken Goodfella's (i think that's the name)...it's a creamy garlicky sauce over penne with white wine and grilled chicken breast mixed in....that's the only unique dish and it's delicious. But honestly, they could do much much better especially for a place run by Italians in a largely Italian area

Goodfellas is a great restaurant for family and friends. There is great food here as well. It's a bit pricey, but worth it for the delicious appetizers. This restaurant is an asset to the heart of Bay Ridge.

When I moved to Bay Ridge a year ago, I was excited because there were so many different places to eat. Unfortunately, I've been extremely disappointed, as I've found that despite the variety, there only a few places with food good enough to deserve your time and money. Goodfella's is one of them. Their pastas are great, and their brick-oven bread is to die for. The brick-oven pizzas are good because they are made from the bread. I usually have the shrimp fra diavolo, which has not disappointed me yet. It's got great classic Italian dishes, and a nice Italian feel. I definitely recommend.

When we first moved to the 'Ridge this was our favorite restaurant. But, alas, no more. The kitchen seems to screw up our order literally half of the time. Our last dine-in experience was the last straw -- my wife's entree arrives, but oops, mine was never put in. Manager couldn't be bothered to come over and acknowledge the mistake. They have a nice menu but they don't know how to run a restaurant.

Goodfellas is like my 'old faithful' Italian restaurant in Bay Ridge. They have all the classic Italian dishes, and all are great. I eat there often, and get food delivered even more often. I have had Goodfellas at least 30 times, and I have been please every time. One of their best qualities is their cost... everything on the menu is reasonable priced. If you are looking for some classic Italian food in Bay Ridge, then Goodfellas is the place to go.

Try the "Chicken Goodfellas" it was excellent..

It is definately worth checking out..

Parking in Bay ridge is always an issue, so you might as well just walk from home..

There are many places in the neighborhood for after dinner drinks.. (and dancing, if that's what your looking for)
