Fantastic concept - wine from a sealed barrel for a great price per pour. Barrique is the first of it's kind that I have come across, but I'm sure others will soon follow.

The interior is well-made, though the layout makes for a crowded happy hour rush. Get a table where you can cozy up to a beauty on the leather bench for two. If you're browsing people and wine, you'll enjoy the large table in front of the barrels or the communal table up front.
No need for bottles here, glasses are generous, you get a great variety...of varietals. We had a delicious Syrah and Pinot Noir, and tried some charcuterie to cut through it.
The sommelier and staff really know what they are doing and have made personal relationships with the winemakers, which allows them to provide the wine in this new format.
If you like a wine bars, or wine-tasting here's the wine bar version 2.0.

What a great experience it was for my friends and Niece who was celebrating her birthday. The music was jumping, we were jumping and the staff was excellent. Appetizers were so gooood. and the drinks were even better. Will definitely tell more friends about this place. Location is great. Near all transportation and off course the Fashion District, who doesn't love it there. Love the crowd and the staff. Everyone was very friendly. Will be back soon, especially now that the weather is getting warmer.

My company just moved to the area and a bunch of us decided to try out Katwalk. Def a cool spot. Nice service and really generous happy hour specials. Small food menu, but we were going there to drink anyway. Also had nice large movie size screens to watch the Knicks.

The best part of Katwalk last Friday night was having no cover. That way, I didn't feel I lost any money to go with the waste of my time.

My wife and I went for after dinner dancing. The DJ was mediocre and the place was filled with young barely over 21 year olds.

We tried our best to give it time, but when our drinks came over and tasted like toilet water, we had enough and left.

Not a good night for Katwalk....

We were having $6 tinis & wines at 10pm at night in midtown! If you are looking for great drink prices with solid service, I would suggest making it a girl??s night out at Katwalk!

Last night, I went to Katwalk last night w/ a bunch of girlfriends and had one of the worst experiences in a bar ever. It was totally awful.

When we arrived at the bar, we wait a bit for a table, which was no big deal then my group found seats and we finally ordered drinks. Our waitress was fine until we got the check and she told us there was a $20 minimum for credit cards. I asked her if she wouldn't mind going to her manager to ask if okay to do $15 on 1 card because we all split the check of $92 and the rest we gave her was cash. She refused and just said it was their policy. We told her that it's not enforceable since it's illegal to enforce minimums on a credit card. She said she was unaware but that's what she is supposed to do. I asked her again to go to her manager and she refused again and walked away while I was in mid-sentence. Also, she didn't even bother to mention to us that there was an ATM in the bar where one of us could get cash too (I mention this b/c I only found out when going to the bathroom AFTER the altercation with our waitress).

Much to our dismay, she comes back to give us the change and then it turned out she charged our group a 20% gratuity. We take a look at their policy and it says parties of 8 or more get 20% gratuity added to the check. Our party was of 5 girls. Two guys in the bar came up to us and started talking to us so apparently she thought they were in our party even though they ordered drinks from the bar, not from her, and then came up to us. With that said, 7 people is still not 8 so why the gratuity automatically added? I go to her manager and he gives me a story about how gratuity is automatically charged to those spending more than $150 or parties of 8 or more but I reiterated that we were a party of 5 and 2 guys who happened to tried to "kick game" to us is still 7, not 8 people. To top it off, we didn't spend $150 either so I told him this was unjust and that we wanted that money for the gratuity back.

The waitress came back to us in a very confrontational manner and sat down next to me, throwing the money on the table. She glares at me and the rest of us and then has the audacity to say, "are you happy now?" I told her what she did was unfair and totally not right. She knew this was the case so she decided to insult us. She looked at all of us, with anger in her eyes & flailing arms she yelled, "Just want to let you know I make more money than you, live in a bigger apartment than you and am hotter, and all around better than all of you so I don't need your money. F*ck you."

Wow. Honestly, she was totally rude, tried to swindle us b/c she knew she was going to get a shitty tip for being so nasty and then insulted and cursed at us for being caught in the act of swindling/stealing.

I would not ever recommend going to this place with a group. You don't want that barmaid serving you nor do you want the headache my group and I suffered from going there. What a way to end the night! Gross!

Needed a meeting place to gather with business associates & clients for a black-tie gala event at Gotham Hall, a block away.
Katwalk was more than accommodating in making the reservation, understanding the dynamics of the club & the neighborhood, giving me the comfort and confidence to believe the evening would come together seamlessly.
They made me feel welcomed, wanted and anticipated on the phone, even though we were only going for an hour??s worth of drinks.
It had plenty of seating upon our arrival at 5:00 and was hopping by 6:00. The waitress was cute, bubbly and also very accommodating.
The environment was new wave and refreshing. It was perfect for what I/we needed it for ?? just what the doctor ordered.

I have been working in the midtown west area for over 5 years and Katwalk consistently has some of the best after-work specials.

1.) They daily happy hour goes to 8pm! How many midtown places go past 7pm?

2.) Super cheap open bar packages for after work. We tend to do the $15 all u can drink on Mon-Wed from 6pm-8pm

3.) Then we will do the ladies happy hour all night long on Thursdays.

Also they have outdoor seating, which is also very rare in the midtown west area.

Worth checking out and they work well with large groups with some free seating.

After three back and forth conversations regarding a 35th birthday party for 8/6/10 accomodating 50 guests ... I was told the date was available and to come and visit KATWALK before making the $1,500 deposit. After visiting in person, and speaking with management at no time did anyone indicate the date was no longer available. Several attempts were made to the event planner to finalize the arrangements and make the deposit and none of my calls were returned. Finally I called her again 3 days after my visit and she indicated that Saturday was booked. When I said my party was on Friday 8/6, she stated that every day in August was booked! In a rude tone, she explained that if I did have a party @ KATWALK, she would have to get EXTRA SECURITY FOR MY PEOPLE! IS THIS HOW YOU DO BUSINESS? I feel we were improperly judged on our skin color (I work in law enforcement Headquarters and my boyfriend is a Sgt. for a Federal agency...and we still were black balled!) For this reason ... I will share my experience with any and every site that refers this establishment!

My co workers & I decided to try Katwalk after a friend recommened their after-work open abr special.. We went on a Friday and did a $20 2 hr open bar from 6pm-8pm. It was a great deal because it included all import beers and Jack, Stoli, etc.. we got pretty hammared! LOLThe DJ was solid, with a good mix. The crowd was nice and diverse as well. The door guy was real nice and the servers were hot and mostly nice. I would recommend trying this place out.

i went here for happy hour on a thursday supposedly 'ladies night" the bouncer at the door was extremely nice. but for happy hour youre paying full price for drinks such as vodka&orange juice or vodka and cranberry.. the glass was small and FULL with ice and tasted like juice and tap water. and was $7 that was what made us get up and leave after 1 drink....

waitress was nowhere to be seen, our drinks took FOREVER to come and it was not even crowded! and the place is small.

on the brighter side the bouncer was very nice and helpful, and theres no minimum to sit at the table but you can order drinks only from the waitress - which like i said is NOWHERE to be seen and takes foreverrrr with the drinks.

overall, not happy

Decided to do my boy friends 25th bday after a recommendation from a friend. Overall a good experience, we did the $45 premium open bar for 3 hrs and we got 2 FREE bracelets because for every 15 paid open bar bracelets they gave us a free one. Door scene was easy, no guest list or cover. The DJ was solid for a non club place. Also they gave us some free seating with no table minimums, which was very cool. Would go back again!

Katwalk is a sleek midtown lounge with unbeatable drink specials. With a slight girly vibe through its Sex and the City nights Wednesdays, and Ladies Night Thursdays, you can drink up before bar hopping at nearby dude joints like Galway Hooker and Ginger Man.

Happy Hour specials are Monday - Friday, 3pm to 8pm, with $6 Frozen Drinks, $3 Select Domestic Drafts,
$4-$6 Specialty Cocktails, $6 Wines & Champagne.

Grab some free appetizers for parties of 15 or more (Chips & Salsa and Spinach & Artichoke dip, $20 value) and sit back on the sidewalk cafe when the weather warms up.

This is an interesting place, it looks like you typical 'snotty' NYC lounge. BUT in reality it is the furthest thing, they have great Happy hour specials, no cover, free seating, nice staff, etc... The door Guy, I think his name was Cowboy is really nice. They are very strict on 21 +. We had an office intern that was under 21 & was not allowed in. Also it is in a great location to get the train to get home. I never been to Katwalk on the weekends, but heard it is pretty good, I My check out for my bady in Sept.

A friend referred me to Katwalk, after she did a Guest bartending shift. Overall the experience was good. It was easy to setup the shift and mgmt was helpful during my shift (I had no bartending experience). The best part is they give a check to your charity of 10% of your sales. I raised money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. I would like to see more venues do more for charities.

Thats 0 stars actually...

If you are planning to have a mixed drink after work, this is quite possibly the worst place to go. In what dimension is 16 dollars for a watered down martini acceptable ? If you're going for wine, dont let the bartender mix up different wines because she doesn't know how to open up a bottle of wine. A total disappointment unless you are going out to get others to buy all your drinks for you. Needless to say, I will be totally forgetting about this place. Your best bet is to trek downtown. Also, most of the positive reviews here appear to be done by the staff. Please give it up.

I threw a party for my 21st birthday here the other night and was EXTREMELY disappointed...

About 50 or 60 of my good friends showed up. It all started when the bouncer, who spawned from the lowest depths of hell, wouldn't let a good amount of my friends in after checking their valid IDs with no explanation given. The bouncer inside then kicked my girlfriend out on the street BY HERSELF for "having a little too much to drink," without even consulting me first, because apparently she spilled her drink somewhere... whoop dee doo.

I was promised to have the upstairs lounge area to myself for a little bit after 11 PM, and when we finally got to have the upstairs area, it was a quarter past midnight and every sketchy person in the bar besides us joined my party and it was out of control from there. It got way too packed, and someone even knocked a glass out of my hand which landed on my friend's foot. She wasn't too happy about that. The place seems much bigger on the website but it is actually quite small.

There is a satellite bar upstairs which is pretty nice but the bartender was EXTREMELY rude and obnoxious to her customers (myself and my friends), and even yelled at me when I tried to shake her hand to introduce myself. She said "get your hand out of my face while I'm trying to make a drink." My friends complained to the bouncer who scolded her and then she latered apologized to me which I did not accept.

As far as the open bar goes, $25 per person for 2 hours is not that bad, but the selection of drinks was horrible. Your choice is standard beer and/or wine, or bottom shelf liquor. They didn't include any drinks besides screwdrivers, cranberry vodkas, or rum and cokes. It got me drunk but still... I was also promised by the manager that if I were to get over 20 people or so to pay for the open bar package that I would receive complementary appetizers or a bottle of champagne, etc. None of this was ever given to me and well over 20 of my friends paid for the open bar throughout the night. All that was given to me was a free bracelet.

Music was alright, but it was too loud, I couldn't even have a friendly conversation, instead I had to yell in my friends' faces if I wanted to talk to them.

All in all, this place is good for a quick drink since it's right by Penn Station, but horrible for a night out or a birthday party of some sort. Consider other options before choosing Katwalk as your venue. I will most likely not be returning here ever again...

Okay, I am one of those bargain hunter types and I ove a good deal! So my company just moved to 35th St.. and I decided to check out the local specials. Katwalk has some good ones, especially for being a high end lounge and in midtown LOL

-$15 bucks for a 2 hr beer, wine & well open bar Mon-Wed Myself and my coworkers already did this deal a couple of times!
-Ladies Happy hour specials all night on Thursday. Yes I was drinking $6 Stoli drinks all night on a Thursday.
-No Cover & no cost for seating
-Pretty extensive daily Happy Hours all week long
-Try to bring 15 or more guests and you get free chips & salsa & spinach dip. Does not sound like much, but if you had to buy it from their menu, it would cost you $20!

Not sure on the late night scene at Katwalk. I have only been there after-work for the specials.

The staff is also very nice and knowledge about the different specials.

There are plenty of lounges in NYC. But few have good staff, Katwalk has a great staff. From the door bouncer to the bartenders they are all nice and good at what they do. I have been going to Katwalk with my co-workers for the last 2 years and never had a bad service experience. Worth checking out if you are in the area for happy hour

Hey everyone, I came to katwalk this past Saturday night for a birthday being held on the upper level of katwalk, I've never been here before but have heard of it. I love the decor and vibe ,very grown and se3y. Who is in charge of hiring the workers? Everyone is good looking lol, great martinis, our bartender was very very friendly and always smiling, think her name was mayra. Me and my girlfriends has direct access to the dj which was great, we bothered him all night lol, very nice mixing and song selection and very nice hair =).
If your looking for a mature crowd, with great drinks and music, katwalk is the place. hope this was helpful =)
Oh one more thing, crowd was very mixed, which is a good thing!!

One of my friends suggested this place to me and now myself and my co-workers go here at least once a week. First of all, THE HAPPY HOUR SPECIALS ARE AMAZING: $6 Stoli drinks, Jose Cuervo, Johnny Walker Red, Wine, $3 beers, $3 shots, FREE coat check, FREE appetizer specials, etc..

Secondly the staff from the door guy to bartenders are really nice. I found out that Katwalk has been around for 5 years and now I know why.

Went there with friends after work for a drink and a bite to eat. We had the rudest waitress who had no patience for us or the table next to us. We ordered buffalo wings which turned out to just be fried chicken, it was terrible. When we tried to complain she said she didn't have anything to do with the menu and that's just how it is, no sorry, no nothing. Apparently we like torture and ordered something else to make up for the horrible wings. The pizza turned out to be frozen pizza warmed up and the same for the fries. The drinks were great but don?t order the food and brace yourself for rude service.

I went there last weekend on a recommendation from a friend. There was no hassle at the door the bartenders were really kind and the DJ was the best. I never heard such a great choice of music in one night i was really impressed, he played of mix of genres which kept me dancing all night. And it wasn't that crowded so you could dance...in short if your looking for a place to dance & have fun this is the place to go.

I had a private party here in the upstairs room, and everything was great. The space was huge, and we had our own bar and bathroom. They treated us very well and were helpful when necessary. I had to put my card down to guarantee a minimum, but we had no trouble meeting it. It's not the greatest location, but it was a great time, and I would recommend it for anyone hosting a private party. Just wanted to spread the word about these nice people!

I was invited to attend a friend's birthday celebration here. There were no long lines at the door, which is always a plus. The area to dance is pretty large and there is a small upstairs area, but there is limited seating and space for the lounging part.

The drinks were good depending on which bartender prepared them. There was only one bad bartender the night I went.

The music was great. I only stopped dancing when they played techno because I'm not a fan of it, but that only lasted 5-10 minutes. It was a great night. The place started to get less crowded around 1pm.

CON: 1 stall in the bathroom.

I was at Katwalk Bar & Lounge NYC this past Saturday night with 3 of my girlfriends. My friend Katie recommended the place and it was my first time. We arrived around midnight with no hassle at the door. Very nice decor, a bit crowded but better to walk into a crowd then an empty lounge. I noticed the DJ right away who is positioned like a king on a throne on the second floor of katwalk lol, he was spanish so i expected reggaeton all night but to my surprise he played pop,80s,house,reggae,hip-hop& top 40, very nice blends. All the bartenders wear cute katwalk uniforms, they are all very friendly, it was very busy so it took me long to finally order my drink. My girls and I had a very nice time and will surely be back to katwalk.

I went here for my friend's birthday party with a girl and 2 other guys. The bouncers gave us no problem getting in and the venue opened up to a darkly lit room with red lights and young well dressed people.

The DJ blasted solid beats though when he did practice his 'freestyling' and tried to mix up the tracks a bit the effect was rather awkward. So what I really should say is that the DJ was great at picking fun songs.

It was also really funny because for some reason they had bikinied models on the projector on the wall. It was a blessing and a curse because while it was an enjoyment to watch at least one of the girls I danced with did seem to notice me pay more attention to the screen than to her.

Speaking of dancing there was actually very little of that going on. This was mainly because the place was crowded as hell. it took like 5-10 minutes to get a drink (albeit a delicious one) and it was hard to get across the room, I felt like I was in a crowded college dorm party. There was also a second floor that was accessible through a beautiful staircase and catwalk. But the upstairs was even worse where I felt like cattle being corralled in a pen.

All in all, the place was well designed, the girls there were really friendly and so were the staff. Only real downside was the crowds, the lack of dancing for the most part and dominantly the bridge and tunnel (NJ/LI) crowd. (not necessarily a downside but can get annoying).

I just had my Birthday party at KatWalk. Great Service from the Bartenders to the DJ. The DJ played a wide variety of "GREAT MUSIC" which you can't get in most places. I must mention that doing Open Bar was a great decision. Katwalk is a friendly and comfortable environment. My friends and I will be partying again at Katwalk very very soon. Special Thanks to the Manager who was very helpful in making sure the guests in my party received the service they anticipated.

I will definitely recommend this place to others.

When I saw this place and knew right away this was the spot to host my next social networking event! The members of NetMixer are held to a certain standard and KATWALK has that. I will be hosting there regularly. check us out at Netmixer-events dot com

Katwalk is a great place to host a private event, I hosted by my boyfriends birthday party. We had about 50 guests and everthing went well. We were allowed to bring in desserts with no plate charge! And we received 4 FREE bottles of Champagne with the gratuity included just for signing the contract for the room. The managment was easy to deal with and the service was good. If you are looking for a nice private room, without getting 'nickel & dimmed' I would suggest Katwalk.

I came here for the Seex & the City happy hour. The bar was crowded and I couldn't get a drink after waiting for 10 minutes. Then I happended to see a group that I know who was already sitting down and I went to join them. Another 10 minutes and the cocktail waitress finally came by. She was borderline rude and really acted like she hated her job.

I must say, the shot girl was very nice, though!

It smelled like bleach in there. I won't be back.

I heard from my friend who recommended Katwalk, that it has been around for a bunch of years and now I know why. Also for being a non big club, they also had a good DJ.
