Food is always great-home cooking style. However, on 17 August 2009,the waitress (tall young blonde girl) was not at all coridal. No eye contact and didn't even say thank you when I paid the bill, let alone smile. Poor customer service interaction. Also, It was a hot day (upper 80's to low 90's) and a young man came in and asked for a drink of water. She refused to give him a glass of water. He said he had no money, and she turned him away. Regardless on the man's reasons for his circumstance, he was refused a basic human need-water. Pretty sad. I was absolutely shocked and appalled. She poured more water down the drain from bussing tables than he could drink. Pretty sad, when greed overshadows peoples needs, just for a simple glass of water.

If you've been to Port Jervis, you'll realize there is not much going on over there. The Port Jervis Diner is a great local place to eat, however. The service is excellent and the people treat you right. The food is delicious and moderately priced.

We often stop here on our way to the thruway and have had fine meals. Not expensive, good service, and ample portions. Classic diner food and fresh specials.
