The WORST - RUDE RUDE RUDE! Do not waste your time or money. Bunch of old nasty ladies that have nothing to do but ruin your day. Get out of there fast - better yet - don't go there at all. Bad selection, bad staff. bad store...don't bother.

I wish I had read these comments before purchasing my dress from Jacqueline's, but unfortunately, all of the negative comments are true for me too.

I purchased my dress in August 08 for my May 09 wedding. I was promised the dress in "Late January/early February." They never called. I called them in February and was told there was no way it would be ready until end of March/early April. Fair enough, but now we're talking a month away from the wedding. Also, I am living out of state, so I came to Jacqueline's with my mom who lives in Rochester. BAD IDEA.

Dress comes in. I fly up to get fitted. It's HUGE. Why even measure me before? I hadn't lost any weight. They pin it with lots of alterations and I am told to come back in three weeks. When I come back, I was told, the dress would be ready to pick up and bring home (as I said, I am out of state).

I fly back in three weeks. Dress is NOT ALTERED at all. Pins are still in it. The only change was *one* of the hems, and it was WAY too high, and the seamstress admitted that she "messed up." Not something you want to hear regarding your wedding dress. I was not able to take the dress home then.

This is now two weeks before my wedding, when I was promised the dress four months prior. They made no apologies for the messy tailoring OR for not having it ready to pick up. They said the only option was for me to fly back the week of my wedding to get it, or for my family to pick it up and for me not to try it on before the wedding one last time!

This would have been fine except the tailoring was so messed up the first time, why should I trust them to do it right the second time? It was a very stressful experience.

End of story is that my family picked the dress up, and that it fit fine. However, the stress of that ordeal with them was more than anyone should have to deal with around their wedding, especially if they are planning ahead.

I was happy with the dress. However, it was lace, and the lace had a small hole in it on the back. It wasn't noticeable to anyone else (I don't think), but after ALL of that and how much money you spend, you would not expect a hole!! Very disappointed. The wedding was beautiful despite all that craziness!

The staff does not return phone calls, and doesn't seem to care about the customer after they bought the dress. They should be more professional and not force the customer to track them down.

DO NOT go here. If you are already working with them, GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING. Horrible, horrible experience. So glad to be married and done with them!!

My daughter needed a flower girl dress for an out of town wedding and Jacqueline's was the only bridal store in town that could order the dress. I WISH I had ordered the dress on line instead!

I had my daughter measured at Jacqueline's and the dress was ordered at the end of July for a wedding in Dec. It took 6 phone calls (half of which were not returned, the other half the employee could not help me and told me to call back) and 4 months to get the dress (which was suppose to take 3 months). I picked up the dress exactly 2 weeks before we were leaving for the wedding. Only to find out that they measured my daughter wrong and the dress was and inch and half too small around her chest.

Jacqueline's has terrible customer service. Not once did anyone apologize for my inconvenience. I was told "I will call you right back" and then no one ever called. What a horrible experience. I never write reviews online, but in this case I felt I had to. Find another bridal store in Rochester, don't go to Jacqueline's!!!

I agree with the person below that shopping for a dress at Jacqueline??s is much like buying a car. The sales women spent 2 hours and eventually found me the perfect dress. However, once she realized that I liked the dress she proceeded to pressure me into buying it ?? RIGHT THAT MOMENT!! When I told her I wanted to wait to show my maid of honor, she informed me that ??no one else needed to see my dress? and told me that if I bought it right then she would give me a 10% discount. After I continued to hesitate, she upped to her discount to 10% off plus no tax, but only if I bought it right then. I am not an impulsive buyer and informed her that I would be going out to eat before I made my decision. I asked for the style number of the dress so I could have my maid of honor look at it on the website and she was reluctant to give it to me, first saying ??you have pictures on your phone, send her one?, then saying ??it??s a 2008 dress so it may not be up on the site yet...? On our way to the restaurant, we stopped at Peggy??s across the street. The first dress I saw in their showroom was almost identical to the one I had liked at Jacqueline??s. Peggy??s informed me that the dress I had liked was from the designer??s 2007 collection (which is why it was not on the website) and was retailing for several hundred dollars less than what Jacqueline??s was charging. I was told that marking prices up above retail and trying to offer discounts to buy right then is common practice at Jacqueline??s. Needless to say, I will be purchasing the dress from Peggy??s ?? I understand that business is business, but I do not wish to work with a dishonest retailer.

I had a very bad experience with this shop when working with them for my sister-in-laws wedding. I made a fitting appointment and when I showed up, the dress wasn't ready so I had to come back--and they didn't even apologize for the inconvenience. Then, the tailoring was so poor, I had to pay for my own tailor to fix it (should have done that in the first place).

they worked very well within my sister's budget, and got her a beautiful dress after spending alot of time with us.

i know some other people thought that their was no service after the sale, but I didn't feel that way, and she didn't either. she always felt good going in there.

the only reason that they don't get 5 stars is, unfortunately, because of jacqueline herself, who is pushier than anyone has rhyme or reason to be. every time she came near us, i wanted to run screaming away. she drove me crazy, however i only had to deal with her twice.

I bought a dress at Jacqueline's and was bombarded by 3 women trying to make a sale. I actually ended up buying a dress that was okay, but felt pressured to buy. I called off the wedding within a week of ordering it, but they refused to refund my money even though the dress had not gone into production, which was obvious as I didn't receive the dress for 9 months after, and it was union made in the United States.

When I eventually decided to get married (to someone else by the way) I went back to have alterations. When I arrived, the seamstress was not there and the the staff was completely clueless about checking their appointment book where my appointment was clearly written. The staff is completely ditzy and unprofessional. Besides, that older woman that works there (perhaps she is the owner) is an absolute nightmare to her employees (even her employees said this to me) and to her suppliers on the telephone as witnessed while I sat there for 30 minutes while waiting for the seamstress to come in from her home. I am not impressed with this substandard customer service, especially after driving in from Buffalo and burning up half a tank of gas. Really disappointing. Especially when this should be a joyful and enjoyable time in the wedding planning process.

This is bridal shop only cares about making a sale. After you buy the dress you can say goodbye to good service because they don't care about you anymore.

Before I get into the bad, let me say that the dresses here are great. My fiancee went there and loved it. However, the customer service was terrible. It is almost impossible to change an order once it has been placed. Also, getting the right attention from the sales people is very difficult.

PROS: good dresses
CONS: poor customer service
