The juvenex spa is a wonderful experience. I have been getting treatments at the spa for over a year now and they are always very polite, courteous, and always very professional. I receive facial with kim and she is wonderful! I am always, and I means always, looking forward to my next apointment for a very satisfying experience, no matter what it is, they do it the best

I've been going to Juvenex for years, and have always found the facility to be clean, attendants to be helpful and services to be top rate. I was there yesterday and had a wonderful time. I've been to some of the top spas in NYC and not had services as good as those at Juvenex.

Hard to understand some of the negative comments listed here. To say that the attendants don't speak a word of English is an exaggeration, and if the smell of Korean food bothers you, it's probably best not to go to a spa on a block that has about 25 restaurants!

My co-worker and I needed a spa day but we work until 9:30 at night. We found Juvenex via Google search, and we almost went to Aura Spa around the corner because we saw the Juvenex entry way, which was less than pleasing to the eye. We chose Juvenex because it offered more amenities at a better price, and the women on the phone at Juvenex was so polite and professional, we said, "Well...let's just walk in and take a look. We can always turn around and leave."

So in the middle of dirty Koreatown, you enter a shady-looking building, but you go up five floors and walk into a beautiful oasis of dark wood floors, stone and green tiled walls and soaking tubs full of bobbing limes. There's a stone sauna cave and a steam igloo. The staff wears collared white polos and offers tea and fruit. They help you with your robes and offer a standard of service you thought was lost in New York. Don't let its location fool you into thinking it's a happy-ending sort of business. It's professional, comfortable, open late, and the price beats what other New York spas offer. I hesitate to write a review because I kind of want to keep this little spot a secret, but our experience was great and Juvenex deserves the praise.

My brows have never looked better!!! kim is a genius with wax and tweezers. What a good experience! kim began with a consultation in front of the mirror to discuss exactly what she was about to do and how she envisions my eyebrows .Thank you !!!

My best friend and I went for massages and facials in celebration of my birthday. It was, perhaps, the best gift ever. They made a mistake booking our massages, so we shared a room...but it was no big deal. The massage was fabulous, the facial was fabulous, and the igloos were awesome...wish we had gotten there even earlier to spend more time in the steam "igloo". I don't know what other reviewers are referring to in terms of "dirty" conditions et al. The spa was awesome, very clean...beautiful in fact. The locker room was pristine...and it was completely comfortable with regards to changing and showering. All in all it was a great experience, I slept through part of my massage and most of my facial, but judged by how luminous my skin was, I can certainly attest that it was an awesome facial and a spectacular, very relaxing massage. Can't wait to book our next appointments, we are thinking of making this a monthly excursion. Great Experience.

I have really sensitive skin (rosacea, sun sensitive), so I was worried, but they did a great job. I wasn't that red afterward. My brown spots and freckles are either totally gone or very light now, so I'm going back for the recommended .kam very knowledgable about skin.

Recently had facial with kim at juvenex and it was the best facial I have ever had. She is knowledgeable, gentle, and truly a joy to be around. Unlike other facials I have had,kim never once criticized my skincare methods everything specifically to me. I will definetely be back.

I felt like I was so rushed from point to point. The sauna was amazing..really really hot. I would have enjoyed going back in and out a few more times but I was rushed to the next thing. I ended up sneaking back in there post massage but I felt like I was getting the evil eye (especially after I snagged a second towel?gasp!). The body scrub area would have been great if I was the only one in there. However, I was laying...naked...on a plastic table next to another woman. I'm modest so this was very shocking for me (fortunately I brought my bathing suit bottoms just in case they didnt provide anything). A simple sheet barrier would have been perfect. My massage started out nice. The beds have a heating pad which is a nice bonus. I was put in a room that was set up for a couples massage so my bed was within touching distance to the other one. Thirty minutes into my massage (when I was relaxed for the first time all day), someone came into the room, asked my masseuse if she could use the other bed because they were double booked. She asked me if it would be ok. I said ok first but then started to stress about having another stranger so close to my bed. I ended up telling the masseuse they need to wait. Awkward again. Oh and the music skipped the entire hour. Overall it was far from relaxing and I won?t go back. It?s too bad. It has potential but overall falling short.

I went here with a couple girlfriends the other night. It was sort of a last minute thing but it was so worth it! As it was later we all wore our swimsuits, which I've heard from my friend you can wear even if you come during the day. We soaked in their cold tub, then the hot LEMON tub (amazing!) then the warm GINSENG tub. We had some fresh fruit, we lounged in the hot Jade Igloo sauna and then went back to the tubs again! After a while of this we indulged in our massages and they were FANTASTIC! My muscles were ready to be relaxed and they ended the massage with a scalp/head massage which was unexpected and very appreciated. All in all- it's a little more pricey but they have so much more to offer than most spas in NYC. While the employees aren't super chatty- I enjoyed that here. It was about the services, not about talking. They also have lots of details like the fresh fruit and tea, free toothbrushes, etc... basically I thought it was one of the best massage experiences I've ever had in the city!

My mom and I went to the spa and had a fabulous experience. From the minute you enter the elevator door it's soothing! From the art to the services offered, it is an amazing place to get away from the world and relax! Everybody deserves to be treated! We had facials and massages in a package i think it is the basic purification. A few weeks after we went, we had family in town, and we surprised them with a girls day at the spa! They treat you like gold! It is an awesome gift for someone! Even men!! My mom took my stepdad for his first spa experience at night , and he can't wait to go back!! Overall, it is way past a 10 in my book!!

My best friend and I went to Juvenex for my birthday after I have spent hours researching for spas that were affordable and offered good packages. I tried to find a spa that had a package will full services, and almost no spas I found had good prices for a facial and sauna use, except for Juvenex. So we decided to go! I received the Basic Beautification Program and she got the Thalasso therapy Body contouring wrap. We both used all of the Jade Journey Facilities and we were not rushed AT ALL. We were given wonderful service, and were given fresh fruit and water and towels whenever needed.

Nothing was broken on our visit. The showers, steam room, dry sauna, and hot tubs were all working perfectly. We spent an hour in and out of the saunas and hot tub when we were called in for our specialty treatment. I had Joyce, and I felt relaxed the entire time. If you have troubled skin then I would not choose this facial, as a previous poster mentioned. I don't consider this a medical inclined facial, it was for pampering and stress relief, which is exactly what I was looking for.

After my facial, which was OVER an hour long (yey!) I went to have more fresh fruit and wait for my friend. To end it all off we went in the Baked Clay sauna which was so relaxing.

My only one complaint would be the receptionist who had us signed up for the wrong packages, and I was charged the wrong amount so she had to charge me again. I didn't feel like she was all too "with it", but we got it straightened out.

I do not have tons of money, and I was not expecting to be pampered, but for the price of the services, what I received was fantastic.

If you want to pay $125 for someone rub different creams on your face for an hour, this is the place for you. I have been getting facials since I was 16 years old (I'm now 34) for my oily, problemed, acne-prone skin. This was one of the most useless facials I have ever gotten.I been here before with the other esthetician,she is very nice and professional,but this time i gets the old korean lady.When half the facial was over and virtually no extractions had been done, I asked the facialist why not and she told me that it was bad for my skin type and that she would "explain later." She proceeded to give me nothing more than a face massage for the whole time -- something that is horrible for oily skin as it just encourages more oil production and the massage is very rough and not relax,make my skin painfull and sore.This is the horrible facial on my life.

When I got there, I was surprised to find that the spa was tucked away in a kind-of run-down looking building. The lobby is claustrophobic and dirty and although it seems as the elevator doesn't work, it does, and moves at a snail's pace. The receptionists, fortunately, weren't nasty, as other reviews have indicated. Maybe the staff have been reading all the reviews and are trying harder now! Payment was discussed upfront. I decided to take care of the tip instead of waiting to be heckled on my way out, as some other reviewers have mentioned. didn't have to wait at all, which was great. It was 95 degrees out and the AC was out, which wasn't great. They were flexible about changing my pre-scheduled warm rock therapy massage into the energy balancing therapy massage, and even offered to make it 75 minutes instead of 60, since I had already paid. They say that it's no pressure to take a shower or get into the pool before the massage, but by the amount of times they ask, it seems clear that they want you to do it (in a disposable bathing suit they offer, or your own), which felt a little pushy to me. I just wanted to enjoy my massage and go about my day. I traded my shoes for used flip-flops, which felt a bit weird. Throughout the spa, you can smell the restaurants below, which is distracting. I thought I'd smell soothing scented candles and such. My masseuse was great, though. She was very professional and knew what she was doing. But the room was close to the elevators. I could hear the elevator bell, people coming in and out, other guests, and the staff talking, despite the calming music playing in the room. A few times during the massage, people came into the room to ask the masseuse a question, as I was wearing my underwear and a towel. So, if this'll be your 1st massage, don't expect to be modest! Also, the spa was pretty small. Might go back once more, but I'm still looking for a better place.

I went in for a body scrub and a massage, when i was getting the scrub I was placed towards the back in a opened and very cold room near the back door and to make matters worse some other lady keeped opening the back door to throw away buckets of water!!! i went in during the winter time by the way. it was noisy and cold! I finally had enough and told the lady to move me somewhere else. the lady DIDNT SPEAK ENGLISH! so after many hand signals and gestures eventually with salt all over i walked over to a closed warmer room. after my scrub i walked out of the room and to my surprise there was a man sitting over by the bar area looking right at me and was talking to one of the employees. i went in during the day were it's WOMEN ONLY !!! luckly i was wearing a robe. I asked to use the steam iglo room and was told it was broken and out of service. so I went in the sauna and was sadly RUSHED out of it. this was just not a relaxing experience AT ALL. the massage was ok, i've had better ones to be honest. and they were also pretty rude when asking to leave a tip! MUCH PROFESSIONALISM needs to be applied. i would NOT recommend or ever go back here again!

Excellent customer service! In a place like manhattan, where customer service is hard to find, this place stands out. I will not be going anywhere else. I had a facial and a body wrap done. The facials are amazing here, and the body wrap was good. Their saunas are amazing like I have never seen before (that is what they are known for)I am taking acne medication and they took that into consideration and completely customized my facial. It's a day later and my skin feels very good. Thank you Juvenex!

This spa is absolutley wonderful. I have recently went there for a session for a Vitamin c facial and eyebrow perfection the special Package, i have to say Joyce the facialist was wonderful. The girl at the front desk Eva was her name she was so helpful, and cheerful she does a great job keeping the clients happy. Also the spa was clean and just relaxing i would recommend anyone who is just looking to get away. Juvenex spa thanks alot !!! im going to bring my husband here for a WONDERFUL SUPRISE the menus rocks for the Reasonable prices.

I went here for a couple's massage with my husband. Firstly, the changing area is wierd -- men and women awkwardly getting changed in front of each other because noone's told them about the lone changing room. Second, the front staff is surly, but I expect that 's because of the neighborhood -- it felt like they were concerned about thugs coming in.

The massage itself was the worst massage I ever head. The woman clearly had no idea how to massage and moved from one area to the next and back again without any expertise. When she didn't know what to massage, she'd rearrange the towels on my back again and again. She even tossed the oil dispenser on my legs so it would be easier for her to reach. I actually stopped her in the middle becuase it was unbearably bad!!! And I love a massage!

On the upside, the manager was accomodating and gave me a gift certificate (which i'll never use). Clearly, the "masseuse" I had must have been a fill-in -- there's no way she had ever massaged anything more than a cat's back.

With all the fantastic places in this city for a massage, I'd go elsewhere. It's a wierd place.

Me and a friend were very excited to go to this spa after looking at the site. Let me just make a list of things you should know about before going.
First of all, the lights are too bright, if you're going to relax, they could at least have a clue about the atmosphere. As soon as we were starting to get relaxed in the sauna or steam room, the staff would tell us to keep moving so that we could have our scrubs. I felt like we were in spa boot camp! Also, the management really need to be more aware of when customers are talking too loudly about their problems, and to put away their cell phones. SPAS SHOULD BE CELL PHONE AND LOUD-MOUTH FREE!!! that's why we go to them! We actually needed to go into the meditation room after our massages in order to get some peace and quiet. Anyway, this would be a nice place to go, but they need to get their act together and be a bit more professional. One more note, after we spent a few hundred dollars for a couple of hours, someone asked us at the door for more money to cover the tips - I think we both left a bit more stressed then when we went in:(

First visit was ok, the space was totally unexpected. Upon arrival we were greeted by the receptionist. she was not rude but not so welcoming, I was told to have a seat a fill out a spa aggreement. The receptionist had a problem with finding my booked appt, when she found it; she uttered the spa package I requested to herself but it was loud enough for anyone in that area to here. That made me fill a little uncomfortable. she should of known that by my name and appointed time.
being that I purchased a package, I expected to be told what time services start, but the rep had no idea; It is suppose to be communicated at the door or by the spa rep. My experience from working at top firms it is very important to be organized make sure clients are comfortable most of all privacy. (the key to more spending) Not meaning to be a sticklier, If I pay my hard earn money especially over 400 or 500 dollars, I expect to be treated warmly and welcomed. I asked for water had to ask twice,also ask about the dark room to get a quick 15 before we get on the road. In which all spas I attended you don't have to ask you can just go in to relax after services. the staff member I asked, didn't know what to tell me, she had to come back to me twice to give me an answer.
As of sevice, Penny was sweet and she did a awesome job, she reminds me of one of the spa staff in LA. Services is great but hospitality is definitley in question! before I left I was not sure about tip, but while waiting for the elevator the spa rep said brazenly, Are you going to give the ladys a tip for you services? Instantly, I thought what a lack of etiquette, professionalism! There are ways to ask for tips. I also, thought about the occurances during the visit then about the wonderful job by penny. perhaps I was off she had nothing to do with management
Would I go there again? maybe late 4 service only.
Pros: 24hr spa, great massage/scrub
Cons: Unorganized, some staff not friendly, broken shower, no privacy.

I wouldn't recommend this establishment. I took my girl friend there for her b-day; when she got there they told her that her gift card was empty, and they were extremely rude to her. She decided to call me and find out what was the situation then again the front desk girl was so rude she hanged up on me. Long story short after 45mns they finally found her on their record. The worse thing is she was extremely disappointed of her experience.

The first time i went to juvanex.....what an experience. My boyfriend and i and 3 other couples enjoyed a relaxing atmosphere at 4:30 in the morning after a long night of partying. It was great and private and like i said before very relaxing and this is before the 1hour massage. The 1 hour massage was very theraputic and just amazing....dont forget to enjoy the igloo it was fun and relaxing. I would recomend to anyone, couples or just a day with the girls. Maria

Arrived a few minutes early and was given a great cup of fresh made hot tea. We were shown the locker area and I thought I was going to die, steam room, jacuzzi, Igloo sauna, everything. Massage was great and very relaxing. We then spent 30 minutes at the pools, wow. They almost lost me as a client for taking so long to 'upgrade' them. I mean Juvenex was just not the same without the pools. But I must say they did a good job. they get my approval. Then we went in for facials and it was just great, I had mine done with Natalie, and it was so relaxing. Great Spa, we met a woman who was staying in a hotel next door and she was at the spa for 3 days in a row, she loved it.

I DO NOT recommend Juvenex spa. Here are some reasons why: 1. 4 out of the 5 showers I could see were broken. 2 were missing knobs. Poor lighting in shower area. 2. No designated dressing rooms. We actually had to wait each time for a facility room to become available. 3. Staff talking loudly all the time - basically loud, non-stop chatter that can be heard inside the facility rooms. Not relaxing at all. 4. Most of the staff does not speak English - asking for a glass of water can be a big deal. One person has to go get another person who can speak. 5. Chaotic and disorganized. Even though there were so many staff members hanging around (not doing much) the spa bath still overflowed - a customer had to make them aware becuase nobody was watching it. From beginning to end it was an unsettling experience. Does not even come close to what you imagine from seeing the ad in the paper.

I've been to several massage places, and each has been a positive experience, but I must say that the Massage Therapy has at Juvenex Spa has given me the most complete feeling of both "massage" and "therapy". They do a wonderful job of having you leave feeling totally refreshed and somehow "healthier" and more envigorated than when you went in. For a truly professional and caring experience, you can't beat Juvenex. Everyone is a friendly and attentive to your needs and dedicated to making your experience special, I appreciate that. Not to mention they have the best sauna, the Jade Igloo.

Just to echo what the previous reviewer wrote, this is not the best time to visit Juvenex. The spa is heavily under reconstruction, and though they haven't dropped the prices at all, if you visit today you'll find that the steam room isn't working, the soaking tubs have been ripped apart (it's not just that they aren't filled with water, the tiles have literally been ripped off, showing the bare concrete underneath), the countertop where they serve water and tea is broken, and some of the shower stalls don't have knobs so you can turn the water on and off. The sauna is still working and the services all seem to be available, but there are a hundred spas where you can sit in a sauna and get a massage. The reason you came to Juvenex was because of the wonderful facility, and that wonderful facility just isn't there now. I don't know when or if this will change, but if it matters to you you should call first before coming.

Also, some previous posters have commented on the lack of privacy, and it's true. During co-ed hours especially you need to be prepared that there will be both men and women there, and with just one shower area and one changing area, all the fancy choreography in the world won't keep one from getting an eyeful of the other. The staff tries to enforce the swimsuits-must-be-worn rule, but who showers with a swimsuit on, and even if you do, standing in the shower area you have a straight view into the bodyscrub tables, where at the very most people cover the necessaries with a tiny handtowel and more commonly it's all hanging out. If you're shy about such things, this is not the spa for you.

There are some good things about Juvenex, including the fact that it's open 24 hours and that if you go as a couple you're allowed to stay together rather than being segregated into separate "Women's" and "Men's" facilities...but until the renovations currently underway are finished, you'll feel like you're trying to relax on a construction site.

My mother and I went to the Juvenex spa in search of a relaxing afternoon . We had checked the facilities on the website, all of which looked like exactly what we were hoping for.
When we arrived at the spa, we paid for our massage and facial and went to use the tubs, sauna and steam room before our appointments. The sandals we were given to wear had not been cleaned (and in fact when we left, my mom asked a staff member if they wanted to put them somewhere to clean and she just motioned for us to replace them for the next person to wear), and my mother's robe had a hole in it. The showers, as noted by other reviewers, were very dark, making it hard to figure out how to turn them off and on as well as to figure out what each of the products provided were for. We were ushered into the steam room and sauna before I asked about the tubs, which was the main reason we had chosen to go to Juvenex, only to be told, unapologetically, that they were broken. After going in the steam room, I asked about them again, noting that we came there specically to use the tubs, and were offered the jacuzzi instead. After thinking about it for a minute more, we decided that since we had come for the full experience, and were only going to be able to use the same facilities I get from my local YMCA, that we would leave. It wasn't until we were fully dressed that the front desk staff told us that they wouldn't refund our money, and that we would be charged 50 DOLLARS A PERSON for taking a shower and sitting in the sauna for 5 minutes. We then figured we were there and since they were unaccomodating we would go ahead with our massage. The massages were good, Penny and Kay, did a great job. Afterwards they served us melon and tea at a counter, which we noticed was not just cracked, but had a large piece missing, which left a sharp and jagged edge, extremely dangerous . This was an stressful spa experience, highly unrecommended.

On June29,2007 had good body scrub mitten feels so good ,body wash was relaxing but told the woman the water was to hot for my skin. hair washing was very good conditoning was good and the body massage really felt good.and the face wash with cumcumbers felt good would go back again real soon and the girl who did me was lucy .very professional place

This place has it all! I've sampled many spas and massage places in NY area over the years, and none of them have compared to Juvenex. I became a loyal customer after only one visit based on the quality of massage and the excellent service I received by most of the staff members. I recently had a waxing done around my neck and back area I couldn't be happier! They offer a free use of the spas and saunas which is very relaxing and good. I also stop in there for full body massages (which are fantastic!) when that week's workouts have put a hurting on me. This is a unique place that caters only to women, but let men in after 7 which could be better cause sometimes I would need a massage the morning after a long weekend.

Juvenex is my Sanctuary in the City. I received a gift certificate for an Enhanced Purification Package and had absolutely no idea what to expect. I felt a sincere interest in my needs when I called to schedule and was warmly welcomed when I arrived in this amazing day spa. Words cannot describe my experience. Juvenex Spa is a beautiful sanctuary hidden from the bustle of the city. My fango mud facial and massage were incredible. I feel as if I have been bathed in beautiful aromas and healing energy. I have never seen a sauna like the Igloo cave sauna. It takes you away! I very highly recommend Juvenex.

What a fabulous, beautiful, and very relaxing spa! When you walk in, it feels like a place of serenity. My boyfriend and I had been there for the Romantic couples getaway package last valantine's. We went for the same package again. They had added Chakra Chromo therapy which i admit i know nothing about. I once read a book on chakras but cant remember how it works. Now, i can tell from experience that the changing of the water colors not only looks cool and great, it somehow makes you feel more relaxed and comfortable. It is a nice improvement to the package and we appreciate the fact that they did not up the price on us. All together a very nice, romantic experience. I would definitely recommend this place!

I went to juvenex for the spa package. I went to the igloo and pool for twenty minutes. The water in the pool was very hot and the steam room was crazy! After that they put you on a table and start scrubbing you like crazy. She was not GENTLE at all but all my dirt came off! Then she washed your hair and you shower and go!
DON'T GO THERE IT'S OVERPRICED AND PAINFUL!

Not only was I very impressed with the amazing facial I had, I was also impressed with the spa itself. The decor is beautiful. It makes you feel like you've entered a place that prides itself on how it makes you feel as a customer. The attention to detail can't be missed. My facial was excellent. Heidi has really good hands and I was so relaxed after. My skin has never looked so good.
The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. A highly recommended experience!

I read the reviews here with great fascination because Juvenex was truly a bizarre experience for me and I was dying to hear what other people had to say about it.
I tried to keep an open mind about the style of their techniques, as it is a Korean spa. But the lack of upkeep and the lack of high-quality products just lead me to believe that this was a beautful spa with quality service a long time ago. Management must have gotten incredibly cheap over the years and just didn't want to spend the money for maintenance of the spa + spa-quality products.
Upon entering the spa, I found the place to be like another world: a very earthy ambiance and a big cave off to the left (which turned out to be the sauna). But upon closer inspection I couldn't help but to notice that the tiles in this place are in dire need of recaulking, there are cracks + dirt between the tiles not only in the entryway but throughout the spa.
I took a shower first. There was no lighting in the community shower area at all, just what little daylight was shining through the skylight. This struck me as odd, and given the deterioration of the rest of this place I couldn't help but to imagine what kind of mold and mildew was hiding between the cracks of those shower tiles, that I wasn't able to see.
I'm not a prima donna, but when I go to a spa I expect it to be immaculate and well lit!
After being hustled around a bit, from sauna to steam room to yet another shower, confused (as other users here have mentioned) I ended up getting scrubbed down by Linda with a scratchy glove (which I fear was used on previous clients and not washed) Even worse, I was scrubbed with soap that looked just like a bar of Ivory soap! (I think a previous reviewier mentioned this too) Then she gave me a full body massage, probably the nicest part of the experience.
All in all, definitely wouldn't go back here. Not worth the $. I want nice products and a clean atmosphere.

I went to Juvenex with my girlfriends yesterday for "spa day" and it was wonderful. We were greeted by the staff and given a tour of the facilities and then proceeded to the changing area. We soaked in the hot tub scented with sake and fresh lemons. From there we went to the steam sauna room which was my favorite part of the day! We were invigorated by the aromatherapy surrounding us. The dry sauna igloo is also a real treat! From there we each were scrubbed down till our skin was baby soft and then our hair was deep-conditioned. The massage was relaxing and theraputic. My therapist worked on all the knots and even focused on loosing up the joints in my arms and legs, which was a pleasant surprise. As for the massage room, I would have preferred it to be a little darker, but other than that it was perfect! We were then served tea and fresh fruit and lounged around in our spa robes for the rest of the afternoon. What was really nice was that there was a room with hair-brushes and dryers so that we could leave the spa looking perfect! There was no rushing and the spa itself was not crowded or too noisy. This place is a must try for a "mini-vacation".

This is a wonderful full service Spa that I would highly recommend. I recently had a half day full indulgence package and will be back again. It's a great place to experience a full day at the spa...they have so many services to choose from. I would recommend this Spa to anyone looking to be pampered. Thy are open 24/7 and I saved close to $50 by using the Citysearch special as I was there on a Tuesday. Go there, you will love it.

I was in New York for a few days of R&R and visited Juvenex for a massage and facial. Lisa was my massage therapist and she was totally awesome! Also got a great facial with Natalia. Staff is super friendly and not pretentious. It's a short cab ride or nice stroll from the hectic scene of time square where I stayed, but that's what I loved about it!! I live in Los Angeles and have tried many spas, but this is a new favorite. I'll definitely go again when i'm in town. Thanks Girls! Oh, and I love the fact that this is a WOMEN ONLY spa.

I work across the street from this place and saw the appealing sign on the sidewalk, so decided to try it for a massage after a long and hard work day. But the experience was the exact opposite of what I was hoping for. . . instead of unwinding, I left feeling frustrated, tense and quite sad. Upon arrival the front desk staff was utterly rude and unhelpful to me - yet, they were incredible kind and helpful to a pair of girls (who were very well-dressed and obviously there to spend, spend, spend - so of course they would cater to them over me - funny how that works out). The management staff were all very loud and disorganized, and kind of "shoved" me around the place, never really pointing out what I was supposed to do when, and acted as if I was the biggest idiot on the planet for not knowing to go into the steam room after my shower. I sat there for a good 15 minutes after my shower, in plain view, management whizzing past, and no one said a word to me or even looked my way. Finally, I was able to get into the massage room with Lisa (who was the only good thing about this experience, her massage technique was lovely). However, 10 minutes into the massage the door opened and Lisa and another were talking very loudly to each other, then 10 minutes after that, the rudest manager of all (I don't know her name but she was just plain horrible) came in, and very loudly asked me if I was "awake!" I was almost asleep. . . but I groggily managed a "Yes," and then she told me very bluntly that they "put me in the wrong room" and that I would "have to move right then." So, mid-massage, I had to get up, wrap myself up in towels, and move down the hall to another room. No apologies. No explanation. When I was checking out, that same manager barely acknowledged my existence, I had to ask her the same question 4 times before she muttered a snippy, rude answer, which prompted a smug giggle from another manager. I felt like the biggest idiot. Please don't go here.

This place is a lot of fun. My girlfriend and I had a massage and a body scrub and both were top notch. Lots of people bash this place for not being as private as most high end spas in the city, but that's the charm of this place. Its not a traditional spa, its a funky korean spa in korea town. If you're uptight, don't come here. If you're up for a unique spa experience, definately check it out. Professional treatments. Unique set up. Lots of fun.

i went for Basic Couples package and my girl loved it.

My husband and i went to juvenex on valentines day and it was the best valentines present i have gotten,my husband both the couples package for $600 and it was worth every penny,the service was great ,first when we got there was greeted by a beautiful smiling young lady by the name of wanita and she took care of us for the 5hrs we were there even when we had to wait for about an half hour for our massage because it was so busy she alway smile and offer us fruits,tea,champayne,water and took us too a low temperture sauna.the massage was the best the scrub was the best ......TO SUM IT UP IT WAS THE BEST EXPERIENCE AND SPA I HAVE EVER BEEN TO.

I made an appointment for a brow wax. Having read on the website it was 30 minutes long, I was expecting someone to take time and shape my brows. Now when I called they said yes we will be shaping them. Upon arrival I sat down and the woman asked how I wanted them done. Now I think she should be telling me what will look best on me. She waxed and 10 minutes later I was done. Paid $40 for this. RIDICULOUS! She did nothing more than anywhere else I could have paid $8 for. I could not believe that other people go there and pay for this service. It was my first and last experience there. It's close to where I work and I was looking for a place to go to regularly but this place will most definitely NOT make the cut!!

My husband and I received a gift certificate for a Romantic Getaway from my sister in law (Sara) for Christmas. We used it last Sunday. The experience was superb, and I could easily recommend them for the Romantic experience alone. But I am writing about the massage. I have a tendency to sleep in bad posture with most my weight on my left shoulder, and wake up with sore muscles. I have been taking medication for it daily. During my massage, the therapist Sunny, read the pain from my face when moving my arm. Immediately she concentrated on that area and spent at least 15 minutes working on my shoulder. When she was done with the massage, she went back and spent another 5 minutes or so, there. She was great. And I am without the need to take the daily advil for the third day now. Thank you Sunny for fixing my shoulder. Now if I can only learn to sleep right! Or even better get Sara to buy me more gift Certificates to juvenex. Thanks Sunny, and Thank you Sara!!! Juvenex is great.

I've been going to Juvenex Spa for a couple of years now, and thought I'd write a review. Every time I go there I have a great experience! And I mean from the time I call on the phone till the time I check out - their receptionists are all so nice, friendly and accomodating. It doesn't stop there . . . all of the therapists are great at what they do - I don't even have to request a specific person, I'm that confident & comfortable in knowing that I'm going to get an awesome treatment with whoever I book with. . . all of my past experiences have proven that to be the case. The spa is always nicely decorated and relaxing, with fresh flowers and music and candles for ambience. I have fallen asleep in the baked clay detox room waiting for my services more than once. I can't say enough good things about Juvenex. Very highly recommended!

When I walked into the spa, the receptionist ignored me and continued talking to her co-workers. She had a pack of cigarettes sitting on the counter. I was told there would be no charge for use of the soaking pools, saunas, and steam rooms because half of the facilities were out of commission. I was asked to pay up front-- in hindsight this should have been a clue.

My first impression of the spa area was that it is very old and run-down. There is no lock on the bathroom door, the paint in the bathroom is crumbling, and there is no hot water to wash your hands after using the toilet.

The only soaking tub that was operational was occupied when I arrived, so i went into the "igloo sauna" first. The mats on the floor smelled musty and old, and there were many used towels and half-empty glasses of water laying around inside, as none of the staff had cleaned up after previous guests.

When it was my turn for the tub, I was encouraged to climb into a tub full of water used by the previous guest. The water is not chlorinated. I put my finger in the water to test it out... and it was cold! No thanks, I'll pass.

There were 5-7 staff members congregating in the middle of the spa chatting loudly in Korean the entire time I was there. The phone was on the bar counter, ringer set to high, ringing constantly.

When it was time for my massage, I was escorted into a treatment room that was just off the reception area and elevator. All the noise from arriving guests, elevators, and the receptionist came blaring in.

My massage therapist asked me to disrobe and get on the table, then stood there and watched me. She did not cover me with anything. I finally requested to be covered, and she complied, but was very careless with the cover and I often felt a cool breeze on areas of my anatomy where I want no breezes. She clearly had received no proper training on how to use the stones and her technique was very rushed.

My visit to Juvenex was a joyous one. I received a gift certificate from my husband and had the works! Linda gave me totally relaxing massage, Linta freshened up my skin with the Vitamic C Facial. and Johanna gave me a relaxing body wrap treatment and pedicure!!!! Before going there I checked their reviews and was looking forward to try the 3D Imax movie with the bodywrappe, But was disappointed when they told me that the "Sneak preview" is only being offered at nights for couples and they could not give it to me during the day for another week or so. Otherwise, everything was just great. I am so lucky to have found this team of creative people and I WILL BE BACK!.

My husband and I travel to NY every 3 months for business. Since we discovered Juvenex, it has become our first stop. Usually righ as we arrive. The "Jet-Lag" treatment and a massage for me and 90 minute massage for him, and of course the Igloo and steam. It is a great recepie after a long flight (from Moscow).
This time.we were offered an Imax 3D movie while receiving the body wrap. Apparently this is a new service coming soon but we were offered a sneak preview and we loved it. My husband usually skips the jet lag body wrap because he gets bored and can't stand laying down wapped up and motionless for an hour no matter how good it may be for him. But the Imax movie makes time go by so fast and you are entertaind rather than bored. We both absolutely love Juvenex and wish them the best of success. They are innovative, kind and always greet you with a smile, even if you arrive at 2:30 in the morning.

I just got back from my massage and have to say that Johanna did such a fantastic job! The girl has some strong hands! I am a hair stylist and needed a deep tissue massage. I have gone to other places and they did a decent job, but Johanna really got in there and worked most of the knots out. She'll probably need a massage herself after working on me! Good job, Johanna! And what a nice place as well. I felt very welcomed when I arrived. I will definitely be back!

What a great experience! When I walked into Juvenex Spa, I felt like I was being welcomed as a guest into someone's home. Both receptionists smiled at me, welcomed me and offered me a delicious cup of tea. SO much different then the other spas I've been to where they could care less if you enjoy yourself. All of my services were great - I fell asleep during my massage & my skin is more clear than I can ever remember it being. All in all it was just wonderful & I plan on returning as often as I can. I really liked this place - I felt very comfotable there and everyone was super friendly and accomodating. If you're looking for a beautiful, personal spa with great treatments and great customer service I definitely recommend this one!

Let me begin by saying that, in a spa, I know that I'll be asked to disrobe at some point during my visit. This is not a surprise to me. I understand I am among professionals and this is how things are done.

At Juvenex Spa, however, I remained in my bathing suit during the sauna/jacuzzi portion of my service before I entered my "Invigorating Korean Style Salt Glow Scrub." Invigorating indeed! Before I knew it, I was in my birthday suit in a room full of women (thankfully, the spa is ladies only from 7am - 7pm) and being scrubbed down like a greasy, used stockpot by a very large, very scary, Brillo pad. Once I was completely covered in my salty glow, I was pushed (yes, pushed) out into the communal showering facility, in front of everyone, and there was nothing I could do about it. I wasn't able to understand my technician as she spoke very little English, so I remained in the shower, confused for about a minute or so, until she came and yanked (yes, yanked) me back to her scrub down table to start the massage where I was drowned in oil and mashed and bashed to the point of bruising. (I don't mind a deep tissue massage, but this lady was beating me to a pulp.) The technician then began kneading my skin in a way that I thought she might actually poke a hole from my back to my chest and punching (yes, punching) my butt, which is when I started giggling uncontrollably. Soon after, she started a shiatsu/kung fu move on me and when she pulled at my left arm, then right arm, and let them drop back down to the table, I thought for sure that, in my slippery state, I was going to shoot right the heck off the massage table.

Usually, I find myself so relaxed after a spa visit that I get jelly legs and can barely remember my name. At Juvenex, however, I left feeling a little paranoid, looking over my shoulder every few feet for fear my technician was going to chase me down for Round Two.

Juvinex is indeed a beautiful a spa with some wonderful amenities. However, their staff really could use some training.

The problems started right off the bat when my girlfriend and I arrived at the same time as two other couples. The receptionist and staff seemed completely overwelmed by this. We were given NO PRIVATE place to change into our robes. We had to drop trou in the lounge area among the couches with both patrons and staff bustling by. As a matter of fact, all throughout the night we were constantly brushing up against busy staff and patrons. The effect was like trying to relax in grand Central Station!

The hustle and bustle continued throughout our visit as we were ushered from one room to the next haphazzardly. We had to ask for water several times instead of it being offered. The staff seemed very well meaning, but disorganized. Every time we went into a sauna, steamroom or shower either our towles or robes would dissapear and we ask to ask for new ones.

The only respite was the massage. It was top notch, very relaxing after a hectic preamble.
Durning the course of our treatments, we took three showers. How refereshing. The only problem was that at the end of the night, my girlfriend was not offered a hairdryer, so she had to leave with a head of long wet hair. How not refereshing.

on august 8th i visited the juvenex spa. what a great experience. i had the back facial,and the rejuvenating pedicure. upon my arrival i was greeted by olga the receptionest, who was great. she showed me around. yes, i was a little skeptical about taking off my clothes. it worked out fine. i arrived@ 9 am, so noone was there. first off i was showed the locker where my personal belongings were to be put. then i took a shower. there was shampoo, conditioner,and soap. it felt really nice. next it was on too the igloo. wow, what an experience that was. next,on to the soaking tub piled full of whole lemons. next on to another great enclosed steam room. next,on to the ice cold rain shower. you will be offered water and fruit at the sit down fruit bar. how refreshing. i will remember my juvenex exeperience for a long time to come. i only wish we had a juvenex spa right here in st. pete fl. also the area it is in was very safe. elevater was small but just get in it and go to the 5th floor. you will not be sorry.

Definitely a hidden jewel in Korea town. I threw a small corporate event here (group of 11) and everyone had a fabulous time. The staff was quite friendly and helpful. The facilities were CLEAN which is a must for me. I loved my salt body scrub - it was amazing and I felt as soft as ever but my absolute favorite was the deep tissue and swedish massage combo. 60 minutes of pure heaven and I came out feeling like a brand new person. We were promised complimentary cake and champagne which I expected to be cheap and average but was suprised by how nice of a treat it was for my guests. Definitely a great spot if you work long hours and need a little pampering late night. That place has definitely not seen the last of me!

Juvenex is exactly what I've been searching for! I immediately felt like I was part of a great group of friends. Every courtesy was extended to me. I was given a tour of the entire extensive facility, offered a cup of tea, and always greeted with a smile. The services were obviously performed by seasoned veterans. I couldn't have been in more capable hands. My massage and facial were both in the top ten I've ever recieved. I would recommend this spa to anyone and everyone. It's definitely on the top of my list for gifts to recieve as well as give!

I like to go there after a busy day at work, get a massage and do the juvenex jade journey and be totally transformed. i'm glad i found this spa!

I travel for my work and am used to getting massages on a regular basis while away from home. Imagine my surprise when I found this spa in my own backyard!
As soon as I walked in the door, I felt my tensions begin to melt away.
Soothing colors and mellow music were just the beginning. The therapists are some of the best i've ever had. They made sure that they were fulfilling my needs without a lot of chatter that would distract from my experience.
All in all, I am no longer getting massages while I travel, i'm saving them for home.

My first experience at the Juvenex spa made me feel like I had been lifted and placed into another world. The beautiful surrounding of the Igloo, 3 Saunas, detox room, and the fresh fruit delivered to our sake filled tub was elegant. They make you feel like a pampered movie star.

Absolutely beautiful! My husband and I stayed at the Avalon Hotel for a week (One block away) and learned about Juvenex from the Concierge desk. We ended up going to Juvenex everynight. The Jade igloo sauna and the ginseng tub were amazing. Finishing off each day with their top-of-the-line Avance' products put the icing on the cake. I can't wait to go back.

I went to Juvenex Spa for their Hot Stone Massage and it was well worth the $125. Two of my friends went with me and also received massages. We lazed in the hot, warm and cool tubs, spent some time in the wonderfully eucalyptus scented steam room, sweat in the unbeleivable Jade Igloo, snacked on Fruits, juice and water and enjoyed the great atmosphere. Juvenex Spa is recommended to anyone looking to relax and be pampered.

Juvenex is amazing! It has everything you could need or want in a spa experience. I went there on the weekend of Mother's Day with my mom, and we were treated royally. The masseuse was perfect, hitting all the spots I requested. The steam room smelled of Eucalyptus, which was surprisingly refreshing. And the soaking tubs area was soothing and classically decorated. This is the perfect way to spend and afternoon of pampering.

My boyfriend bought me a package to go to Juvenex on Valentine's Day. When I got there in the afternoon there were couples everywhere, even though I was told Men are only allowed in the evenings. My massage was OK, but somewhat frustrating because my masseuse did not speak any English and I could not tell her when she was massaging too hard or what areas to concentrate on. From there everything was downhill, I had absolutely no privacy and during the body scrub my masseuse actually tried to take my towel off even though I was in full view of EVERYONE. And to make everything worse I could not even explain to her that I was VERY uncomfortable because she didn't understand a word I said. At the front desk the receptionist had the nerve to tell me she didn't understand what my problem was because Juvenex has the best body scrub in NYC....I don't think so!! Who's ever heard of a body scrub using a bar of Ivory SOAP!?!? I left without completing the remainder of the services my boyfriend paid for and the spa would not refund our money. Every time we tried to resolve the situation we're told the managers are not in, and they never returned our phone calls. $300 down the drain and my Valentine's Day was RUINED! I really can't understand why any of these people on here have anything good to say about this place. My experience was HORRIBLE and I will never go there again!

I originally raved about Juvenex Spa after attending a Bacherolette Party there. However, when I went again on 5/20/06, it turned out disappointing. I had gotten a gift certificate in which was purchased in March 2006 and it had a pamplet in it to get something free. Instead of honoring it, the receptionist just ripped it up and said we are no longer doing it. I really wasn't in the mood to argue with her, but I still feel like they should have honored it. I did however, enjoy my hour treatment of the Energy Balancing Therapies. The girl that did my massage was wonderful, but I feel that the people up front need to be more customer friendly and was definitely not a good way to start off my relaxation

The facial by lee was relaxing and my face looked and felt 1000 better when I walked out of there. I definitely recommend trying this place out... I have read and heard a lot about the spa nd afinally decided to check it out. I could not behappier. The spa was super celan and nicely decorated with fresh flowers. The service was superb. and the therapists were great. I had a facial, a massage and a bode scrub. The tubs were very calming and the jade igloo is quite a sauna. I got all that at less than $300. I spent about 3.5 hours and was served fruits, and tea. To me that is cheap, or at least okay. I would go again and recommend it to all.

I was charged $300 more than quoted at the outset. Because I was splitting the cost with 2 other friends (who I didn't know also paid) I didn't realize the mistake until a day later. While the total price we paid was the price listed on the written menu, we relied on the receptionist's verbal quote and were not shown a menu. The spa, rather than acknowledging their mistake refused to refund any money. Even a spa credit would have prompted my friends and I to return. Even though I lost $300, Juvenex has lost even more by being so short-sighted. I will go out of my way to make sure that no one I know EVER gives them business.

I went here when they first opened and fell in love with this place. The $125 package with a mini-facial, mini massage, and body scrub is OUTSTANDING! My friends and I have gone here a few times for a girls' spa day and just had a beautiful experience. My favorite part is the relaxation room with fruit and tea. It's a stunning space and the staff is incredibly nice. I say GO! You will be wisked away into another world and your mind, body, and soul will thank you.

I usually get the Jade Journey & the body scrub. I particularly like the body scrub because they really scrub you good & don't miss a spot. All your dead skin is exfoliated. Your skin really feels rejuvenated for a long time afterwards. Although the lockers & showers are in the open, I don't mind this a bit. In fact , I kind of like it. I like the communal atmosphere of people just being themselves and enjoying the ambiance.

What these other reviews reviews neglect to mention is that the salon is one open big room, there are no walls separating the locker "room", the showers or the jacuzzi. Which is fine when it's all women but if you are there when men are allowed and 7pm is early if you go after work. Then you are subject to whilst changing, taking a shower etc. strange men seeing you naked. Also the locker area is in view of the cafe. I'm no prude, but it's disconcerting to change in view of the people working behind the cafe counter. Just be forwarned.

I've had a facial or two (I myself am an esthetician) and I am obsessed with clear skin and clear pores. Facials here are thorough and not comfortable....b/c they are doing what they are supposed to be doing...cleaning and clearing up your skin. The estheticians here are amazing... and it's the first place I've ever been to where I can see true results (besides the usual exfoliation and steam and cream) after the first time I have been there. I won't go anywhere else... and neither should you.

I had a lovely experience. The massage was the best I ever had. They did not have any male massage therapists. I was apprehensive at first, but she was very professional and therapeutic and had very strong hands. Usually I go for male so they can get my overworked legs untangled (i am a runner). The facial was very nice and relaxing, but best of all my skin looked fresh and glowing for days after. All of the staff was very nice and helpfull. I strongly recomend this spa.

I took my daughter in law, my niece and 2 friends and bought them a day
at the Juvenex Spa with me while we were in New York a week ago. That
spa was fabulous. Only my daughter in law had been to a spa before.
The jade sauna was fabulous. The women that worked at the spa were
super. Since we scheduled our spa day on a weekday, it was not very busy.
They ordered in lunch and at the end of our day treated us to a bottle
of champagne. They said since we travelled so far and made it a day
they wanted to treat us to a wonderful experience. It was the best xmas
gift I could give. I've made spa-addicts out of them all with the help
of Juvenex spas. Absolutely wonderful.

My sister (massage) and I (waxing) went. Don't get their treatments. I'd have to agree with some of the other reviewers. This spa doesn't not have skilled employees when it comes to massages and waxing. It was so bad that we spent a good deal of time debating whether we wanted to get a refund. Another patron who spoke Korean told me later in the sauna that even with an interpreter we still wouldn't have gotten what we wanted and that she only comes to use the igloo and sauna facilities. What they do have going for them is the Korean exfoliation (the real thing!) and jade igloo and sauna. That package is called "Jade Journey" or something like that. They give you fresh fruit and tea.

'Hole in a wall' is the best way to describe this spa. It is in a crowded, busy, noisy area known as Koreatown. The building is old, the lobby is very small and the elevator crawls at the snail's pace. But once the elevator door opens on the 5th floor, you are instantly transformed in a true oasis. The smells, the sounds of waterfall, the decor, fresh flowers and an exotic Jade Igloo sauna will take you away. I love this spa and recommend it as the best nonpretencious spa in town.

Luba is the absolute Best skin care specialist I have ever seen. I recently had a facial with Luba, and unlike other facials, i did not break out at all or experience any skin irritation. Plus, I am getting married soon and had some sun damage (brown spots, tan lines) to take care of. I could not be happier with Luba's work. She is truely the most amazing skin care professional. I cannot rate the facial portion of Juvenex because I don't use those services. But this was far and away the best massage I've ever had in my life. I left feeling completely relaxed and tingling. Heaven. If I could afford to get a weekly massage, there's no question Juvenex is the place.

On top of that, they have a great zen atmosphere. It's not too new agey and it's not too sex and the city hip. It's just relaxing and smells great.

Based upon the high recommended treatments here... I went to this place and got a massage... The staff was friendly but the lady that massaged me did not understand a word of English. SO I could not explain my pressure preference. I also did not like the fact that when they massaged me I was completely nude for all view! THe massage itself did not feel like a "real" massage. AM not sure where the lady was trained but it was not like a regular massage that I am used to... Everyone has different tastes this was just not for me...

I've been to Juvenex twice. Their massages are very good, and I've had dozens of massages in my lifetime, so I would know! The setup is very much like Asian bathhouses (I used to live in Japan)- because it's single-sex, women can mill about in towels and go between sauna, steam, showers, etc.I once did their full-body scrub and would not do it again, just didn't like it that much. But overall this place is a great escape from the city! Give it a try! There is sometimes a 10% off coupon on Citysearch which they honor.

I have been to Juvenex many time in the past. I am always totally satisfied and feel great for days after I visit. I was a bit uneasy with their open design and lack of privacy in the body scrub section before, and did discuss it with the manager last time I was there. Well, I was so flattered when the manager told me that they redesigned the section per MY request. Even more so because I have not been there for about 4 or 5 months and she still remembered me. That is so sweet. I like how they hung the huge bamboos around the area to provide more privacy. It is beautiful and they cared about my comments enough to go through all the trouble. I do feel special, Pampered, and totally in love with Juvenex.

This place is nice. Although the website makes it seem larger than it really is. It is only one floor. The Korean Scrub was nice although you lie there naked for everyone to see your whole body. I was embarassed at first. I wonder also if they change the water in the mini-pools. After I left that pool. They didn't seem to change the water.

However, the ladies working there was nice. I even got 2 rounds of fresh fruit and tea. That really relaxed me. I had the Enhanced Purification package and I was even able to book on the same day. It cost around $283 in total with tax. That is kinda expensive for me. I think I will stick with the basic purification package next time.

Juvenex Spa is one of the best spas around. They are opened 24 hours per day, which is perfect especially if you cannot get to it during normal hours. They give the best massages--I never fail to thouroghly enjoy them. Your body and skin is prepared for the massage by treating it to many different pampering experiences such as the baths, the igloo, etc. I highly recommend this Spa.

I used to be a regular when they opened. Left the country for a year and revisited the spa last week. What a feeling, I feel so clean, pampered and sexy. I have been to many of the most popular spas in NY and other major cities and as a man have always felt like a second class citizen where ever I have gone. But Juvenex is no so different. I felt very comfortable there. It was not spa stuffy, I felt they were genuinely interested that I have a great experience. The massage therapist that I had was unbelieveably good. So good that when I left I called friends to get them to go. The only issue is that men are only allowed at night, but they explained that they are building another floor just for men. The atmophere is contemporary but warm with lots of natural stones, and clay and stuff. What a breath of fresh air in the spa world! Can't wait to see the Men's Spa.

Hi. My husband bought me a gift certificate which I used towards the Basic Purification Package with 20 minute massage and the Luscious Lips treatment. I went with 3 other people - we ordered lunch in and sat at a table eating it (with the staff giving us lemon and cucumber water to drink with it). We then went through the Jade Journey and then to the body scrub. I'm embarrassed to say that I haven't been that clean in ages. And the soft skin stays with you for days afterwards. I can't wait to go back (one of my friends is going to bring her mother for Mother's Day).

Well, I tried it. It is called the enhanced allurification package. I totally enjoed it. I had the facial, eye treatment, and the two new treatments the breast firming and lip plumping. I loved them both. I came home as Angelina Joline. I am not exagerating. My boyfriend noticed the change from steps away. They warned me it is only good for about 5 hours but I felt it will into the night, even the next morning though not as much. I am a regular there and highly recommend them. They never cease to amaze and impress me with their skills and new stuff (both treatments and products).

I have been a big fan of Juvenex as long as they have been open, and just had my birthday held there with 18 of my best friends. They went out of their way to make me and my guests feel special, and there was no sales pressure. Some of my friends (college kids) would not be able to make it if they were made to spend hundreds of dollard here. I had a full day indulgance and spent all afternoon there. Some guests arrived late and were there only for about 90 minutes. Thank you Juvenex for the cake, the flowers and the whole experience. When I think of day spas, I think of an overworked staff who does the bare minimum. I received a gift certificate for Juvenex and thought I'd probably find exactly that. I was surprised. The girl who did my facial was sweet. She did an awesome job, and the only time she mentioned products was when I asked about certain skin treatments and even then there was no pressure to buy. I was already relaxed by the time I got to my massage, and didn't honestly think it could get any better. The massage therapist did an awesome job, and I was both surprised and pleased with her genuine concern and gifted touch. The atmosphere was relaxing without it being forced like other places are, and I truly felt I was the focus and not my gift certificate or the money it brought in.

I still think this is the best spa and massage. Linda was great! She found all my knots and even some places I didn't know about. She went deep to work out the knots and then went into all these relaxing strokes so that I wouldn't tense up. It was great!!
Everything was first-rate and clean. And, they are open 7 days a week.

My wife has had a few treatments there during the day and loves the place. She decided to treat us to a couples scrub. They advertise couples after 9:00 pm, but we noticed some single men taking up the seperate jacuzzis. Maybe their mate was getting a treatment, but I think couples should stay together for the entire time. These guys were in the jacuzzi s for a long time (as there is not much else to do if you are waiting for your mate to finish). We could not get any alone time and we were there at 1:00 am. They should enforce the couples policy.

Wow! Juvenex is a hidden jewel. The atmosphere is so inviting, the services are the best I've had anywhere (and that's saying something). The staff are very professional, and really know their stuff. I like the fact that I can get great spa without any treatments, and just hang out without spending a bunch of money. The Facial I had was one of the best I have ever experienced. The results I've seen are nothing short of miraculous.

During the stone massage, the woman placed a towel on my back and placed heavy burning stones on top of it while she used her hands to painfully massage my legs for half the time. I told her the stones were too hot, she said ok and then replaced them. When she started rubbing the stones on my body, they burned so bad I said no more stones. She said ok, then a minute later started using them again. She asked if it was ok, I said no and she laughed but kept using them, this happened repeatedly. Even the lady next to us said 'she said she no more stones'. Miscommunication was not the problem because I spoke to her in korean. The whole time I felt tortured and was miserable. I checked my back afterwards and there were red burn marks where the stones had been.

Juvenex truly impressed me and they went far beyond my expectations during my visit last week. I chose to have a package that consisted of a body exfoliation, a massage and a vitamin c facial. The spa amenities allowed me to fully unwind and detox from a hectic work week. Each one of my treatments were performed with such expertise, the staff are so passionate about their work & they made me feel right at home! I cannot wait to go back to Juvenex, they truly are one of a kind.

I've been to so many spas, but none of them compare to the relaxing environment at Juvenex. They never rush you out, and you can use their facilities before and after your treatment so you feel fully unwound by the end of your stay there.
The facials there are terrific! It's probably better to go in the middle of the week where there are less people there.

Service was non-existent, and only one person spoke English. Perhaps it was a bad night, but objective evidence: the toilet seat was in disrepair, the soap bottles were all empty, the sauna door was stuck and took two people to open. The massage was painful - and you couldn't even communicate to them to ease up since they didn't know English. We went on a couples night, and it actually made us more tense after leaving. The staff were not helpful - they only pointed directions. Towels and robes were old and had bleach stains. I'm not sure what happened - had heard wonderful things before. Perhaps they were a jewel previously, but not anymore. The decor is nice, though.

We went to this place based on reviews found online. I wanted to say that it was a fantastic experience. Since our initial visit, I have experienced several facials and my boyfriend has had several massages . Johanna has always been so pleasant and engaging when I made appointments or while waiting for our appointment times. I am so pleasantly surprised. Juvenex has a very relaxing atmosphere. I have been to Nickel and Oasis, But found this nicer, cleaner, and fancier. Plus, I was afraid of a facial because I thought they hurt. This was an amazing, relaxing experience which I will do again. When I was done with the facial and was relaxing in the Igloo, they served cold water in the sauna to me before I had to ask. And when I got out of the Igloo, they had fresh fruit (Ice cold watermelon, Honey Dew and the sweetest pineapple). Very Nice! Can't wait till they open the Men's floor.Very reasonable Prices, for what you get!!!

Spa rituals and modern-day comforts make for relaxing a religious experience, but what I found most pleasing was the little touches, like the abundant fresh flowers, the palm trees and the overall attention to details that makes Juvenex my favorite spa. I spent spent abut two hours there and felt like I was away on vacation somewhere. Ronnie's facials are one of the best I have had in years. I recommend this spa, and Ronnie as the best in town.

I am a regular at Juvenex. I was talking to larisa, my favorite russian facialist there about having to go to see my Dr. for ear wax removal. Much to my surprise she said they do it with candles there. I hate going to Dr. for this. Specially when they shoot the warm water in your ear(very painful). Obviously i tried it and loved it. Specially with the neck massage as the candle burns in your ear and sucks all the was out (without any pain). Much better than forcing it out with high pressure water. Juvenex never stops to amaze me. I love Em.

I was there last friday for the first time. The tour they give at the begining of the visit explained how everything is designed to be a 'Healing' spa. The Jade, the chinese medicine in the steam, the natural infusions in the soaking tubs, the mud detox room. I am sold. I was very impressed by the tour and took the tour guide's advise and thumbed thru the books they have in the lounge. They are the best healing spa I have seen. and I have seen many spas in the us and in italy where I grow to love and appreciate spas.

I am a professional massage therapist myself. When I read the 'day spa' magazine's annual awards issue picking juvenex as the best, and living only a 20 minutes train ride away, I had to try it. I see why they were picked. My massage was excellent and the atmosphere is out of this world. I highly recommend them. They are the second best, right after me ofcourse.

Juvenex is my first experience with an Asian spa so perhaps is not unusual within that genre. The facilites, robes, amenities are great. However, nudity is definitely the norm. Staff is insistent you shower and sauna upon arrival. At least 3 staff repeated this despite our voiced resistance. Showers are completely open stalls in the walls and visible to all. Facilites are clean, but definitely not ultra-hygienic. I had massage and my friend had scrub/wrap. Massage tables are two and scrub 5 per room. Both services showed little regard for privacy. During massage, therapist left room several times. Little attempt made to keep me covered. Pressure during massage and scrub were very firm and rigorous. However, when we left Juvenex we felt refreshed and were more comfortable with the nudity. Staff were friendly and experienced. Nonetheless, it is a distinctly different spa experience and may not be right for everyone.

I just had the most wonderfully relaxing massage and thorough facial at Juvenex. The massage was completely tailored to my requests and was one of the best I've had in the city. Their massage therapist is GREAT!! Then, the facial left me feeling completely clean (great extractions) and afterwards I left feeling completely revitalized. I definitely feel this was money well spent and recommend giving them a try! They will see me again. They just made my gift list. I have a few places I buy gift certif/s from and I now have added Juvenex to it.

This is one of the nicest spas I have been to. The decor is tre' chic, the employees are wonderful people, and the atmosphere is the best in the city. I have had facials, massages and waxing done there and I always leave there happy. I would recommend Juvenex to anyone.

It has to be New York'ss best kept secret. Juvenex has no sign out front but we had heard about it from friends. The staff was awesome and I ended up getting a Massage and my wife got Facial. My wife was thrilled when they offered a free fruits. Specially coming out of the hot Igloo the ice cold watermellon and pineapple was so nice. We will be going back to Juvenex spa."

My husband and I went there for the first time together. I am a regular client and most of the girls know me by name. But this is the first time I took my husband there for his birthday treat. They had rose petals covering the bridge leading to the saunas. Cake, and champaign and the VIP room was decorated with candles and flowers. My husband thought I had spent over a grand for the night. He loved the treatments and though he gets regular massages, this was his first Korean styls scrub and he loves it. Both he and I felt very very special.
Juvenex is very highly recommended by the both of us.

my comments only pertain to the stone massage because that's what i had. the stones were never "strategically placed" on my body. they were dumped on me. the therapist violently scrubbed me down with the stones as if they were soaps and that i haven't showered in days. i tried to make it known and she would lighten up the pressure but very soon, it was a major scrubbing session again. stones were also flying all over the place. the therapist is a nice lady and she worked hard, i.e. she scrubbed hard. i never had a stone massage before but that just didn't feel right. i was not relaxed and did not find "inner peace" as the menu suggested. definitely not worth the price - $110.

My co-workers keep talking about Juvenex lately. I finally decided to give them a try on my day off last Thursday. I can see what all the rave is all about. This Spa is quite different. It is beautiful and like Ronnie explained everything has a health benefit behind it (the 3 saunas, the tubs, etc). She is so knowlegable. About the spa in general and specifically she is so great with the Facial. She is an Ace and Juvenex as a whole is spectacular. I was just amazed how empty the place was. There were like 4 clients there. They are great and I wish them the best.

I was stranded at the Grand Central station, thinking this is a 2 hour outage walked over to Juuvenex. They had no power but the place was lit with candles, tubs were full and igloo hot, only the steam did not work. Had a wonderful massage and was there for at least 4 hrs when they announced they were closing. They did not charge me, and offered me a ride. Needless to say it was a gift from heaven. I love them and will always remember that day at Juvenex. These folks are special.

I drove over an hour to get there. Though I go to spas alot, I had never heard of Juvenex. I was amazed of the beauty and feel of the space, and then was blown away by the best massage and facial I have had for along time. Perhaps my massage is bali might top this one. But nothing close to it in the NY/NJ area. Overall I will drive back with pleasure. They have find a regular client in me. I strongly recommend them.

I went to Juvenex on V-day and found to my surprise, couples were there as part of a Valentine's Special. Women were given cheap, disposable underwear so that we wouldn't feel uncomfortable. I should have been notified that there were going to be men there. I was getting a scrub, completely naked right next to a gawking guy in the steam room. On top of that, I had to wait 3 hours before I recevied my first treatment.

The most impressive overall service to top the beautiful design makes this the best spa in town in my opinion. I am just finishing up a great book on spas around the world and beleive Juvenex has captured the essence of what I am reading. I love the spa and can not recommend it highly enough. I went there last month with my friends. When we left we all were sure this was too good to be true and were worried they will change and either let up on the service . raise their prices or something. Well, I was back (alone this time) and I was so pleased to see they have changed for the better. The place is even more beatuiful with all the new plants, and decorations. I came across this spa by chance. I usually go to the spa across the street from them. Saw the sign in the street and went in, and am now addicted!! What a way to celebrate the holidays. We arrived in NY last night and came in first thing in the morning. Juvenex is the best cure for for jetlag. A little soak in the tub, sweat in the igloo, a hydrotheapy massage and finally a seaweed wrap. Walked out of there feeling reborn. Quite a contrast from the tired, beat bodies we draged in there. quite a gem!

This is one top notch spa. I loved the design, the flowers, the weird looking trees and the look and feel. I couldnt wait for the treatments. They did not disappoint. I am a frequent spa goer. I love new york spas and have many favorites, aveda,millfleur and oasis to name a few. But Juvenex is my new best spa in ny. It is more like a mini-vacation spa. I adore Juvenex. This was my first visit to Juvenex. Lee gave me a massage like none I had before. After five minutes, she pointed out all the problem areas I had (Shoulder and Lower back), and adjusted her technique accordingly. I usualy have to explain to them where my problem area is. And then, she gave me a full body massage that included hand, foot and scalp. I was in heaven for 90 minutes. She really knows her stuff. She said she started giving massages over 20 years ago. She now has a steady client in me. Oh yeah, the spa is georgeous and very nice.

The most beautiful spa I have ever seen. Looks and feels like a movie set. I had the best facial ever! I am in love with the japanese tubs. The sake and ginseng were the best. The seaweed was okay ( I'd prefer the water a bit warmer). The tree in the steam room I 'd never heard before, but it made the room smell fresh and nice. Overall, I will give them a thumbs up for originality, beatuty, and great service. It felt like someone was following me with water (Once she brought water for me in the stream, and twice in the igloo). These girls are the best!

My wife and I called in late. Okie was extremely nice. She said we could get in after 11:30. We showed up around midnight. The place was everything we hoped for and then some. We were the only ones there so we had the whole place to ourselves. We took the hydrotherapy treatment which was pretty nice. Oakie had put in candles in the Vip room and made us feel very special. My wife goes to spas a lot and she was also very impressed. I usually stay home with our daughter. But from now on, if she is going to Juvenex, she will have company. We asked okie if they could make it for couples during the day and she said they may. If they do, you will probably see us there alot. We live close so it would be perfect for us. We highly recommend Juvenex.

I had heard of Juvenex before but when I read about them in Newsweek in my dentist's waiting room, I decided to give it a try. This one is a keeper. It is great. I finally found the gem I was looking for. I hope they dont change. I got great massage and their 'gynospa cure' (pretty interesting, check it out). I stayed for over 3 hours. Going in and out of the saunas (they have 3), the tubs, some juice at the bar and in the igloo again.
I am sold. This is the one. hope they dont change.

Serene, Awe-inspiring,Majestic,Exquisite. Lee was very attentive. Excellent!
The attention to detail is unparallel not just in the service (did I mention Lee is the best), but also in the whole look and feel of the place. I can't beleive they were so slow, though. Good for me, I received so much attention, I felt like family. I bet she never received such a big tip before. With pleasure, I might add, She earned it.

I had a gift certificate for $100. After work, I thought I stop by and blow it off. They told me, I had an option of not getting any treatments and just hanging out. So, I did. I loved it. There is so much to do. my favorite is the detox room.
I even bought a shampoo and conditioner and I still have some credit left on my little gift card. Unbeleivable. And they treated me as if I was dropping hundreds of dollars there. I will be back, and next time, I plan to really treat myself.

I refused to be naked in front of all my friends and almost canceled. But when I called and they told me I could bring in my bathing suite I went. I am glad I did. they had flowers everywhere in the tub, on the walk way in. It was lovely, the place was just heavenly. I just loved it. there were 6 of us and about 4 other girls we did not know. But even the strangers joined in for the cake. We took some of pictures (before changing). They did not let us take pics inside. Only with the flowers on the bridge going in. Anyway, It was just a perfect day for me and my friends. The best massage and facial.

I am a frequent traveler to NY, and usually head to Bliss for some relaxation. This time my concierge desk recommended Juvenex. The place was hard to find but WOW!!! what a spa. It is the most beautiful spa I have seen. The stone massage was out of this world. I also loved soaking in the sake tub (something I had never dove before), Did not care much for the seaweed tub. They were very nice. They ordered food in for me (I was there at around 9:30), and really made me feel special. I highly recommend them, and will stop by on my next NY trip for sure.

Living in London, I wanted to spend a half day in a spa in NY during my week long holiday in the city. I found the Juvenex spa via this website and booked from London. I confirmed twice prior to the appointment (and once the day before!). Arriving at 9:30 am, I found there was no one at reception. The rooms were dark and silent. I called out, and finally a Korean woman came out - but did not speak English. The place was not particularly clean. I wasted one half day of my time and came away irritated as I had taken such particular care to confirm and re-confirm. When I called the manager later, he never called back to apologize and I still do not understand what happened.

It was my good fortune to have been able to experience
one of the most luxurious spas in Manhattan. I went there with my girlfriend at 2:00 AM Friday night (Sat. Morning). Luckily, since there were no appointments at the time, I was able to experience the spa. From the moment I walked in, all senses were stimulated, The scent of the candles, flowers and herbal treatments, the visual beauty and functionality of all spa amentities.
We had the most amazing cleansing scrub, followed by a full body massage, and a facial.
We did not want to leave. THank you Juvenex, you have gained a loyal , and healty customer, thanks to you.

I went to Juvenex on a Friday night and left hours later feeling perfectly relaxed. I strongly suggest you try the full body salt scrub - my skin was incredibly soft for days afterwards! The staff was friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit.

All women must treat themselves to this hidden haven! You will walk out of this spa feeling like a goddess, not remembering where your next New York destination is. New Yorkers are in long need of a non New York destination to get lost in. Loose yourself, you deserve it!

Juvenex is by far one of the best day spas in New York. The easy flow of the layout, the jade, the chinese herb steam room, the baked clay room, YUMMY!

I only recommend Juvenex to those who truly want a rejuvenating experience.

Juvenex is a new spa & I was very impressed with the decor, professionalism and friendliness of the staff and the overall experience. I found it to be highly relaxing with few 'logisitics' for me to deal with. I sat in the dry sauna igloo and dipped in the cold pool (back and forth) much longer than I anticipated that I would since it was such a calm and lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended.
