When my three month old blue american pit bull terrier began losing hair on her snout, I immediately took her to Randolph Veterinary Clinic. The staff, except for one, was rude and insensitive. The veterinarian took a quick look at my puppy and said that the hair loss was due to allergies (could be from pollen, grass or fleas). He then prescribed oral antibiotics and a six month dose of Advantage Multi. One month later my puppy was looking much worse with more hair loss. I again took her to Randolph. The veterinarian again said that the hair loss was due to allergies and placed her on Prednisone. He told me to be patient with the Prednisone - that it would be one to two months before results were noted. I waited patiently, but my puppy kept getting worse. 75% of her face was bare. She itched constantly. I felt helpless and hopeless. I kept her on the Prednisone as directed and also bought over the counter solutions for treating canines with allergies. Nothing worked! My two months of "waiting patiently to see results" was over and my puppy was now 5 1/2 months old. I finally decided to seek a different opinion. I made an appointment at the Haskell Veterinarian Clinic in Olean, NY. The staff was amazing. They were very sensitive to my worries and offered much emotional support. When Dr. Mount looked at my puppy and listened to my story, she immediately wanted to take a skin scraping. Less than three minutes later I was told that my puppy had demodectic mange (the contagious kind). She was then placed on a daily dose of liquid Ivermectin. Less than a week later, I noticed a dramatic change. It has now been two months since my puppy has been diagnosed with demodectic mange. Her coat is almost completely back and she looks wonderful. If you know anything about demodectic mange you would understand that it is easy to cure if it is caught at an early stage. I caught it right away, but the veterinarian did not take the time to scrape her skin and therefore misdiagnosed her. This misdiagnosis cost me a little over $500. It cost my puppy much pain and suffering.

Dr. John Inkley V.M.D, and his staff are by far the most knowlegable, considerate and genuienly caring I have ever encountered. Dr. Inkley takes his time with your pet. He does not rush an examination (even though his waiting room is almost over flowing with patients). He treats you and your pet as individuals and will take the time to answer any questions you may have.
The atmosphere throughout his clinic is very warm and caring. There is nothing cold or uncaring about the Dr., his staff or his clinic, and you feel very comfortable from the minute you and your pet walk through his door. The clinic is set in a rulal, country setting and is worth any drive you have to endure to bring your pet to him.
The treatment your pet receives from Dr. Inkley is second to none, and the combined experince of expert pet care, knowlegable advice, total compitence, and a naturaly friendly atmosphere will keep you coming back to Randolph Veterinary clinic for all your pet care needs.
