Recently opened and already one of New York City's premiere nightlife destinations, The World Bar is on the ground floor of the exclusive Trump World Tower condominium and overlooks the United Nations and its beautiful gardens. The classically contemporary space which is the first U.S. project of Brazil's most celebrated hospitality architect features soaring 30-foot ceilings, book-matched oak walls, and a "floating" glass mezzanine. Uniquely elegant and very conveniently located in Midtown Manhattan, The World Bar is ideal for cocktail receptions, dinners and business meetings for up to 150 guests.

I have to contradict some of the things that I have heard about the World Bar located in the UN. We have visited the World bar and were terribly disappointed in the service and the attitude of most people there. I would not go back. Never mind the prices.

Fun, elegant and polished staff make it a must-return
by wallstreetguy
Yes, yes, of course had to have the World Cocktail after seeing it on "Three Sheets" and it was fun. Nice professional staff, lovely furnishings, a decent shrimp cocktail and some liquid gold made for a very pleasant Friday evening stop.

A Pleasant Surprise
by mitsy4400
When first invited out with friends to the World Bar, I have to admit that I was not necessarily looking forward to the evening. I was expecting ridiculously overpriced drinks in a stuffy pretentious place. Needless to say I was very pleasantly surprised to finding myself having one of my most enjoyable evenings out in a while (and one of the best Manhattan's too!). The staff is unbelievably accomdating even though our party was nearly 3 times the size of our reservation. The drinks were superb and the big screen to watch The Apprentice made it all the more fabulous. I will definitely be returning!

Great evening
by peter_cleary
I made a trip over tothe World Tower to view a friend's apartment and decided to have a drink before returning home. Bret - is an exceptional bartender. Great drinks - excellent conversation in a stark and clean environment. The bar was not heavily populated - and that is exactly why I will return (and bring a room full of friends). I can't remember the last time I enjoyed myself so much in a Manhattan bar - having an educated and pleasant exchange with equally enjoyable people. This is a bar for "grown ups" - no "20 somethings" screaming over terrible music and spilling drinks / falling down all over the place.
The bar is perfect for private parties and conversations. Highly recommend for before / after dinner drinks with family, friends, colleagues and associates.
Pros: atmosphere, staff, quality crowd
Cons: , off the beaten path

expensive cocktail
by efokas
World cocktail - It was interesting as the bartender explained what was in it and he would make it right in front of you. They open a bottle of champagne for this which suprised me and the edible gold was a nice touch. Still kind of expensive for 50 dollars though.
Pros: nice layout of bar, interesting drinks
Cons: , empty bar

World's Most Expensive Cocktail
by LMVC10021
Beautiful, grown-up lounge. Elegant, sophisticated and expensive. A nice place to go and relax. Attractive, upscale crowd. Not hideously expensive if you don't order "The World's Most Expensive Cocktail."
