Crystal Bay On The Hudson

It was a disaster from the beginning to the end. Starting with the cocktail hour which was to be one hour, was about 35 to 40 minutes because when my 36 guesses arrived at 6 P.M the appetizers where not out and I was told they were cooking. Finally, the food was brought out a 6:20. Had to ask 3 times for them to bring out more appetizers, when I was told they would keep filling the trays with food, they did not unless I asked. When we were seated we where rushed to give our orders. I asked could we wait until we make the toast I was told no, it had to be done immediately. Little did I know that when the dinner was served the waiters and waitress that was to be working in the room were no longer to be found. I had to go and find someone to finish taking our dinner plates. We sat with dirty glasses and dishes. Each time I needed someone I had to go and find a waiter. They were pulled from my party to work the bar and outside deck. The dinners were warm and the coffee when we finally got it was cold. We were to have beer, wine and soda, I was told the waiters would provide, instead we had to go and get the drinks at the bar. Needless to say I was very embarrassed. I was going to make a scene and complain, although I did let them know I was very upset with the way we were treated.The owner who is billed as CEO Chief Event Planner could have cared less. She knew who I was and everytime I was looking for a waiter she gave me an annoyed and indifferent look. I paid good money for that party. I wanted it to be a memorable evening for my daughter and my son in law. It certainly was. Crystal Bay is not what it use to be. The previous owners ran a great place.
