Went to Stresa this evening for dinner and have been there several times for lunch and dinner over the past two years. The recently updated menu is outstanding and the service is impeccable.

There is another post about the wait. Let me clarify. Stresa does not rush you. When you sit, you get great Italian bread, and within a few minutes are served a free appetizer. Tonight, it was a classic Italian rice ball with fresh tomato sauce. When you are done, you get the menu. You order, and your appetizers come out within a reasonable time. When you are done, they clear the table and move to the next course. It is a pleasnt change from the uber-rushed restaurant scene. Listen, if you want a quick meal, go to Applebees. For world class Italian and impeccable service, go to Stresa.

Tonight I enjoyed a cold calimari salad that was perfect. My wife had the special potato and leek soup, which was equally outstanding. She went with a special pasta with lobster and shrimp while I enjoyed the Fettucini alla Bocelli, which is a chicken bolognese sauce. Amazing. All of the desserts at Stresa are first rate, and one of the owners, Giorgio, makes them fresh every day. The chef prepared special pastas for my two young girls, aged 4 (penne with tomato sauce) and 8 (ricotta and gorgonzola ravioli marinara). My water glass was never less than half full as the servers hustle all night to take care of the customers. The night was capped off with Stresa's famous biscotti - gratis.

Giorgio and Tony make you feel like famiglia!

You will not be sorry.

The food is tasty however they take forever to take your order, or even worse an hour or two to perpare it and bring it to your table . The waiters should learn more about body arm hygeine if you know what i mean .The menu is very limited .
