I love Porto Rico Importing Co's coffee! Prices are very reasonable. And they have great sales as well. They even have deep discounts, I think at least once a year. I used to live down the street from them, but have since moved to California. When I visit NY, I buy several pounds of coffee home with me. My husband and I even gave Porto Rico coffee beans as favors at our wedding! Many, many guests commented on how good the coffee was.

I LOVE THEIR COFFEE. Even after moving to Brooklyn, I still trek back for coffee, and loose tea, and the occasionally chocolate-covered espresso bean. The staff are laid-back, but in a friendly and knowledgable way. The smell of the place is divine, and the prices are still unbelievably low, especially during their twice yearly sales. Appreciate the Fair Trade/Organic offerings.

Though the employees may not bow and kiss your feet, this place is not to be missed! The coffee, whether in bluk or drip, is the cheapest, freshest, smoothest in the city. You are not charged the usual extra costs for fair trade, organic,

With a zillion competitors in the city, there is no reason to go to this store. The staff was not just rude on my visit, but equipped with customer service skills that were, frankly, bizarre. I was polite, quick to answer and ready with

If you are a true coffee or tea drinker and are miffed by Starbucks-type prices, take a gander at Porto Rico. They have an unbelievable amount of coffee and tea choices for reasonable prices. Their staff is well-educated in the coffee and tea biz. Also, their website offers weekly sales. But actually being there and talking to someone is a better experience.
