I would strongly advise everyone to **not** under any circumstances purchase any kind of gown in this store. I ordered my Maggie Sottero gown there, being very clear and vocal about the time that I would need my dress delivered. The clerk assured me that the dress order would be a rush order and that I would have nothing to worry about. The dress was assured to me would be there three months later. Almost 6 months later the store claimed to still neither have the dress nor be able to give me an estimated time of delivery for the dress. The result was that 3 weeks before my wedding I still did not have my gown.
Whenever I called Clara Mila's, I was treated without any respect and I never got an answer for a delivery date. All expected time frames passed without ever getting as much of a phone call back from the store. And I did not even get to speak to the store owner until the day I finally got the money back for my dress. If anything, the store personnel tried their hardest to make me feel and seem like a hysterical bride. I was even accused of lying about my wedding date initially. This was despite of the fact that my consultant, Louise, whom I loved working with, even confirmed that I had given the exact same information and that I had been told the dress would be in within 3 months. This all is despite the manufacturer/designer Maggie Sottero being able to give the stores estimated delivery dates instantly. In addition Maggie also is able to rush order dresses within **2 weeks** for an additional charge.
This all happened three weeks before my wedding. Thanks to Clara Mila's I ended up having no gown 3 weeks before my wedding. Strangely, Clara Mila's despite their strict no refunds policy gave me my money back entirely. To me this made it pretty clear that something fishy was going on. In addition the manufacturer bent over backwards to help me find a replacement gown and a new store to work with. This, I am sure would not have occurred should I be to blame for any of this. (I am mentioning this, because I always wonder about what the buyer may have done wrong, when I read reviews.)

I wouldn't even give it 1 star if I could. Clara Milas is under new management and does not live up to the Clara Milas name. Not only are the staff rude (the lady hung up on me when I demanded a tracking number for dresses that were 2 weeks late), but they also did not know anything about customer service. Dresses were guaranteed to be in by the beginning of March- now, at the 3rd week (just a few weeks before the wedding) the dresses are still not in.

Don't be fooled by the Clara Milas legacy- this is not the same Clara Milas as it used to be- stop in to browse and you'll see the mismanagement for yourself!

I cannot believe it . Again I have to say Clara Milas bridal is wonderful they will cater to anyone . Yes there are rules in the business but it is a greta place to buy a dress been there 2 times and would go again . They have kind people who work there and make you feel great. I got my dress (Maggie Sottero) from Clara Mila's. I was nervous after reading all the bad reviews but I feel like if a person had a good experience they are less likely to talk about it than the person who had a bad one. I'm sorry to the person who felt they were told they were fat but honestly I'm a size 16 and it's just a fact that we need more fabric and that costs more money. I was told upfront about the policy to remove your shoes and was told to bring socks. I went back after I ordered my dress to play with bolero's and faux fur ideas and veils, they were extremely nice and accomidating, even though I wasn't buying anything. I had my dress altered there as well, it was more than I could ever ask for! They did such a wonderful job and I want to share my awesome experience I had not one visit but in all three. Give them a chance and see for yourself!

I stood up in my friend's wedding in May 2010. After going here for our bridesmaids dresses, her wedding dress, and her daughters flower girl dress...I would never recommend this store to anyone! I am a saize 14 and was told to buy a 24 because it was always better to take in the dresses AKA pay more money for alterations. i asked if I could try on a dress in my size from the same designer and was rudely told that they would look but they dont often have dresses that big! I was so offended and as a person who struggles with weight and sefl esteem it was a blow to my outlook on myself. When I went to pay for the dress I was told that I had to pay extra since I was a bigger girl and needed more material. let it be know that the women taking care of me was no petite women herself!!! Our dresses didnt come in until about 3 weeks before the wedding and the flower girl dress didnt come in until the week before! Being a bride my friend did not need all the extra stress os being told multiple different dates and stressing about dresses being here on time!

My sister and i went to Clara Milas after experiencing some of the worst customer service at "other" bridal salons in the area. We were greeted without an appointment with kindness. My sister explained her recent experience, and Donna took us right into the shop. We had the most wonderful time - found our bridesmaids dress, and..my sister found the most beautiful dress i have ever seen. Donna made my sisters day a terrific experience, and i am SO glad we stopped at Clara Milas. Thank you Donna for treating my sister like the princess i think she is. You were fantastic.

These reviews don't lie, this place is absolutely horrible at customer service. It's dirty, they are condescending, and they cut the tags off the dresses b/c they don't trust anyone.
I think they try and ride on the coattails of their "tradition" and "good name", but clearly that no longer can help them. The building is now for sale, the poor customer service and reviews must have caught up with them. Here it is:

Where do I begin? PLEASE don't waste your time stepping into this nightmare of a business if it can even be called a business. A few of the workers were okay but the owner is the coldest woman I have ever met.I got not only my wedding dress but my bridesmaid's dresses there as well. Very close to my wedding, the girl's dresses still weren't shipped to the store. I called and spoke to the owner and she acted like it was nothing. After a couple more weeks, my sisters' both called and told her that they lived out of town and requested that she pay for shipping because they were in town to get the dresses but they still weren't in. She would not budge (she gave them less than half of what it would cost for shipping) so my sister let her know what horrible customer service that was and the owner said "this has nothing to do with customer service." ARE YOU KIDDING ME?" It had everything to do with customer service. I came in to talk to the owner and a worker told me she was busy. Believe me, these examples are just the tip of the iceberg. I could go on about the HORRIBLE owner and business but it could fill a page. Everything else with my wedding went well on a positive note! I just don't want any other bride to have to go through an experience like that. I wish I had been smarter and read the reviews first. Best of luck to everyone.

I am far from a bridezilla, flowers - whatever, color? you pick! I have been the most relaxed go with the flow bride just like my personality, but when I stepped into Clara Milas with 2 of my bridesmaids, they made me feel like I needed THEIR approval just to spend my money there. After telling me I would have to come back with an appointment, they decided to see me, which the whole hour I was there, I was the only customer?!?! Then made me take my shoes off and walk around their nasty 1950's dirty carpet so their dresses won't get ruined. Then after being treated like we were morons, the rude old women left us standing at the front desk confused waiting for her while she put away what we tried on! No one said "thank you for coming" or even "Goodbye!" I had to ask if we were allset to leave because our women left us. Any business can get buy, it doesn't make them a good one. By far the most unprofessional and unkind business I've had to deal with, especially since half their dresses you can get ANYWHERE if you do 10 minutes of research. Dont waste your time. If you like Forever Yours, check Bridal Chateau or Classic Bridals, like Moira Lee or Alexia Designs, Bridal Chateau or Davids..this place was unclean, unhelpful, rude, and outdated.

ABSOLUTELY THE WORST! I refused to go here for my own wedding, but my good friend decided to go here for her wedding gown and bridesmaid dresses. They are rude, refuse to let you put a deposit down, and then charge you for shipping (they charge shipping from the designer to the actual store.) When I asked if I could just have it shipped to my house, they charged an extra $15! On top of everything else, the girl who called me just hung up on me. I will NOT go here for any type of alterations. They refused to negotiate the price. Absolutely ridiculous. In answer to a couple "accusations" from "unhappy customer c."...Yes, we are the same Clara Milas...the legacy continues. We are not under new management. Rude, no...perhaps your usage of the work"demanded" toward this employee indicates YOUR attitude toward us. This order was placed in November, with an approximate delivery of March. The wedding is May. We can control our end of business, but not manufacturers. To the general public these dates may seem too close. However, in the 'bridal world' there is sufficient time for any alterations, if needed, etc. To continue...these dresses arrived in our shop on Monday, March 26, 2012, phone calls were placed to notify of their arrival. One of three bridesmaids came in to pick up her dress that night.. the other 2 have not been heard from as of this writing. thinking there was an urgency to this matter we stepped up to the plate and more than fulfilled our contractual obligation. If alterations were being performed at our shop, there would be more than enough time to complete the work...worry and stress free for all.

It is so sad to see these negative comments. On a regular basis I see clients come in, get treated like a princess, get one on one personal care and service and even get teary eyed when they see the dress of their dreams. Today we even had a Mom shed a tear of to see her "little" girl wearing THE dress that she will wear on the day that will change her life! In these times of computers, and rush-rush poor customer service I would think that the ability to come in take your time, and luxuriate in our rooms and get to feel VERY special would be a welcome breath of fresh air. People that complain actually are the people that complain always and everyday and time about EVERYTHING! Honestly...to be taken with a grain of salt. So, come and don't hesitate to join us for the fun this special event has been meant to be for you (& us)!

DO NOT EXPECT ANY COMMITTMENTS OR BRIDAL BLISS when you order from here....the manager/owner, Joanne, is a NIGHTMARE for brides and the bridal party to work with. When we ordered our dresses, back in FEBRUARY, we were told the standard 4-6 months but then when we started calling about them, we were told 4 different dates they were shipped already...talking to JOANNE she said they weren't even SHIPPED yet (this was Aug 14) and they would be shipped on Aug 23rd and take a week to get here...the wedding being October 1st. The bride had been calling all of July (never once speaking to Joanne) and was told Clara Milas would call HER once the dresses came in (and oh yeah, they told her they were shipped July 6th, July 14th, July 3rd, and the first week of August on all the different times we called in). Miraculously they came in BEFORE Aug 23rd and the owner "Would NOT COMMIT" to shipping 3 of the bridesmaid dresses out of town to them and pay for the shipping, since it was their delay. When the bride went to pick up the dresses and asked to speak to the manager, JOANNE would not even COME OUT to see her, instead hiding in her office and letting an associate relay her message of not offering to pay ANY PORTION of the shipping for the out of town bridesmaids. After the bride and 5 maids bought their dresses there, it was too much to ask for her to pay less than $50 to ship the 3 dresses. I would NOT RECOMMEND this place to anyone. Getting married is enough stress without having to worry if you will get your dresses in time and having to deal with someone who does not belong in the happy business of weddings. I apparently have to give them one star, but really would prefer not to.

I paid my $100 deposit then when I called to pay the balance they told me it was and additional $15 for shipping. I specifically told the firl I lived in VA and needed it shipped to me. After I Paid I asked "I am paid in full correct" She said yes, so my sister gets a call saying the dresses will not be shipped until we pay are balances. I owed another $15 to ship to VA- so they charge a double shipping charge one to have the dresses shipped to them and one to have them shipped to you. I also had to pay a $3 free because I was charging less than $20 on my credit card. Now who's fault is it! I was told my dress was paid in full and I owed nothing and now I owe a extra $18 for shipping. In my opinion Clara Milas should of picked up the $18 as a customer service fix considering theri employee made the mistake. I would not go there. However for at least flower girl and jr bridemaids check out www.pinkprincess.com they ship FREE and Return FREE and dresses ship withen 24 hours of ordering as long as it's in stock and most are. Beautiful quality and no hassle. Plus they are backed by the better business bureau. Clara Milas has a F rating with the better business Bureau and is not accredited. Do your homework before shopping here/

I owed another $15 to ship to VA- so they charge a double shipping charge one to have the dresses shipped to them and one to have them shipped to you. I also had to pay a $3 free because I was charging less than $20 on my credit card. Now who's fault is it! I was told my dress was paid in full and I owed nothing and now I owe a extra $18 for shipping. In my opinion Clara Milas should of picked up the $18 as a customer service fix considering theri employee made the mistake. I would not go there. However for at least flower girl and jr bridemaids check out www.pinkprincess.com they ship FREE and Return FREE and dresses ship withen 24 hours of ordering as long as it's in stock and most are. Beautiful quality and no hassle. Plus they are backed by the better business bureau. Clara Milas has a F rating with the better business Bureau and is not accredited. Do your homework before shopping here/

The paperwork I filled out was pretty straight forward and they explained it all in detail. Half was due upfront to order the gown, which I think is reasonable. I think that the only people who take the time to write a review are the unhappy ones, but I wanted to get my experience with Clara's out there, I would definately recomnmend them to anyone!

Unfortunately, my friend did not notice this at first and ended up ordering her dress as well as the bridesmaids dresses from there. When it came time to get my dress fitted, they didn't even fit it properly. I asked the woman to please make the strapless dress secure on top, and she said "well, it's a strapless, you're going to be pulling it up all nigth anyways." They tried to sell me a used bra that wasn't even in my size. I sucked it up because it is not my wedding and I need to just put on a happy face. When I had to pick up my dress, I asked if I could try it on, and the woman said.."It's already been pressed, why would you want to try it on?" I asked again if it would be alright, and she said "We already pressed it, but it's your dress so do whatever you want, I don't care." The blond employee is extremely rude, and I have heard her repeatedly bash customers in front of other customers each time I have had to go there. I am getting married in 2 months, and there was no way in hell I would ever set foot in this place. I would never recommend this place to anyone!

This place really is a great bridal shop and there if they were as bad as everyone makes them out to be then they wouldnt be in business anymore.

My mother and grandmother bought their dress from Clara Milas. I did too but the tradition ends with me. While the employees were somewhat nice to me, they were terrible with my bridesmaids commenting that their measurements were "impossible" because they have tiny waists and big hips.
If they got busy- they were down right nasty. I overheard them talking trash about a "complaining customer."
Never bring kids there! 3 years after my own wedding I was a bridesmaid in a wedding. I brought my 2 year old there and she was shoved out of the way as she was standing in the hall between the dressing room. They were very busy and the lady was frustrated because she was trying to bring some dresses out. She grabbed my little girl's shoulder and pushed her out of the way and said "excuse me" in a rude way. My daughter almost lost balance and asked me why she pushed her. I picked her up so fast and pulled into the police station down the road. The officers questioned her but I did not press charges.

One last reason I despise this shop is because they make you take your shoes off so your shoes don't get the dresses wet. Their floors are disgusting and cold! How about investing in bags for the dresses like all the other shops?

I put down a $100 deposit, for a wedding dress that I thought I was going to buy through them. I had them hold off a couple of days on ordering the dress because my measurements were coming out all wacky. Anyways, two days later I was having second thoughts and called to tell them I would like my money back. They said, "NO!" I proceeded to ask them if I could use that money towards something else at their store and they said,"NO, you can only use it to towards a wedding dress." They never ordered the dress for me and it was a two day span. I tried to dispute this with my credit card but the bill said no refunds, so I was stuck with paying the $100 and I got absolutely nothing! Save yourself the frustration and headache.. DON"T GO TO CLARA MILAS!!!

Special Note: They don't allow you to take any pictures of dresses or you in dresses until they get your money. Also, they don't tell you the dress designer and it seemed like all tags were clipped, so you purposely can't find out the designer. Hmmm...they must be scared you are going to go elsewhere once you find out the designer name. Which makes me think ... why would you go elsewhere??? lower prices...better service...yes, it is all making sense now. Avoid going there unless you don't mind be ripped off!

I wish I could give negative stars here! Last year as I was looking around for dresses, I visited nearly every bridal shop in the Western New York Area, looking for the "perfect" dress. This bridal shop, by far, was the worst ever! The owner/manager lacks business sense and tact, not to mention common courtesy. The sales girl who took care of me was very young and inexperienced, not helpful at all. The dress selection was horrid and way overpriced. I know my bridal dresses, and I didn't see any current styles; I was shopping in winter 2009, and all the dresses that I saw were about 3-5 years old. Thank God they did not have any dresses there that I wanted to buy, because I cannot image having to seriously deal with the owner. I have no idea how this bridal shop is still in business. Save yourself from the hassle of dealing with rudeness and avoid Clara Milas at all cost. (PS: check out the BBB, Clara Milas had an "F" rating last time I checked)

The customer service leaves much to be desired at Clara Milas. Upon arrival, you are instructed to remove your shoes. As we first visited in the summertime and were wearing sandals, we had to walk around the store barefoot. This is gross and unsanitary. We were told the reason was to protect the gowns from getting dirty, yet I note that all of the staff walk around the shop with shoes on, so the purpose of having us barefoot was totally defeated and completely unnecessary if the gowns are properly handled (obviously they must not be if they??re getting soiled without even leaving the store).

None of the dresses have tags, and the staff will not tell you the prices unless you order. After that, the payment terms change at the discretion of the person you happen to be talking to at the moment. We were initially told a $100 deposit was required to place an order. Then we were told the gowns needed to be paid in full before an order could be placed. Then $100 was fine again. Then, after placing an order, we were called and told that more money was needed within the week. We were told balances needed to be paid within 60 days, even though the paperwork we signed stated 90 days (which is in fact circled on the contract), then, later, we were told the balances could be paid any time before pick up.

We were given the exact same run-around with expected delivery times. Every time we called, the expected date was drastically different than the last time.

Clara Milas created so much more stress for a bride than is necessary when planning an already stressful event. I was so worried about the gowns being ordered correctly, coming in on time, that my girls were getting gypped with the chameleon-like payment terms... What an awful experience!

I've had a terrible experience with Clara Milas -- and it takes a lot for me to get angry and frustrated enough to take to the internet to write a review. First off, if you are planning a winter wedding (as I am), DO NOT get your dresses there. They close for the holidays from Dec 19 - Jan 3 -- and do not tell you this ahead of time! I would have not gotten my dresses there if I knew the shop would be closed the two weeks prior to my wedding -- now, I have to keep my dress at my house for two weeks and hope it stays pressed, versus picking it up the day before the wedding as is the case for most bridal shops.

When I first got my dress, and my bridesmaid dresses there, I was met with so much misinformation. At first, they told me the girls only had to pay half of their dress amount for the order to be placed. Then, it was the full amount. That's fine, but they need to be consistent with what they tell customers! Then is was hurry hurry hurry to order the dresses -- the last girl paid in full for her gown at the beginning of August. Their dresses just came in LAST WEEK....this before they are going to close for two weeks for the holidays and won't have time to do alterations on the girls' dresses -- so now we have to hunt for seamstresses who can get it all done in time.

Now I understand that dresses take time to come in and such, but if we were going to be cutting it this close, they should have advised me to put a rush on the order. I do not work in a bridal shop -- no, I don't know how long it can take for orders to come in. That is YOUR job to advise your customers! Additionally (and I've seen this on other reviews) I got the same runaround story every time I called -- they're stuck at customs, they should be in soon, etc. I was told the dresses should be in by the end of October, and they finally came in the 2nd week in December. And of course when I said, "you told me they'd be in by the end of October" the salesperson replied "I don't know who told you that." Also, one of the girls' dresses was the wrong size. Guess who's problem it is now to have it altered to fit, versus having ordered the correct size to begin with?

I can't tell you how many times the staff of Clara Milas stands by "Oh, I don't know who told you that." Like I'm making up things?

I went for my dress fitting and took my 2 month old infant with me. The saleswoman inquired if it was my baby, and I proudly said yes and smiled. She said "Shame on you." This from a place that sells maternity bridal gowns? Are you kidding? Whatever your morals are, that's fine with me, but spare me the judgement when I am your customer! I was so infuriated I walked out and scheduled another fitting with a different salesperson.

My final fitting was yesterday, and the dress fit horribly. It was too big on top and too long. The salesperson replied with, "Well it's not our fault you must have lost some weight." More than an inch around the bust and waist since two weeks ago? Like every bride, I've been watching what I eat, but come ON, there's no way I magically lost inches in 2 weeks...the fact is they measured incorrectly and tried to make me pay for alterations for THEIR mistake, AGAIN.

I'm hoping it fits next week and I can put all this behind me. If it doesn't, I'll be hunting for another seamstress, since they CLOSE the two weeks before my wedding.

Bad customer service, inconsistent and incorrect communication and some really random horrible stuff. Stay away. I would give negative stars if I could.

I would have not gotten my dresses there if I knew the shop would be closed the two weeks prior to my wedding -- now, I have to keep my dress at my house for two weeks and hope it stays pressed, versus picking it up the day before the wedding as is the case for most bridal shops.

When I first got my dress, and my bridesmaid dresses there, I was met with so much misinformation. At first, they told me the girls only had to pay half of their dress amount for the order to be placed. Then, it was the full amount. That's fine, but they need to be consistent with what they tell customers! Then is was hurry hurry hurry to order the dresses -- the last girl paid in full for her gown at the beginning of August. Their dresses just came in LAST WEEK....this before they are going to close for two weeks for the holidays and won't have time to do alterations on the girls' dresses -- so now we have to hunt for seamstresses who can get it all done in time.

Now I understand that dresses take time to come in and such, but if we were going to be cutting it this close, they should have advised me to put a rush on the order. I do not work in a bridal shop -- no, I don't know how long it can take for orders to come in. That is YOUR job to advise your customers! Additionally (and I've seen this on other reviews) I got the same runaround story every time I called -- they're stuck at customs, they should be in soon, etc. I was told the dresses should be in by the end of October, and they finally came in the 2nd week in December. And of course when I said, "you told me they'd be in by the end of October" the salesperson replied "I don't know who told you that." Also, one of the girls' dresses was the wrong size. Guess who's problem it is now to have it altered to fit, versus having ordered the correct size to begin with?

I can't tell you how many times the staff of Clara Milas stands by "Oh, I don't know who told you that." Like I'm making up things?

I went for my dress fitting and took my 2 month old infant with me. The saleswoman inquired if it was my baby, and I proudly said yes and smiled. She said "Shame on you." This from a place that sells maternity bridal gowns? Are you kidding? Whatever your morals are, that's fine with me, but spare me the judgement when I am your customer! I was so infuriated I walked out and scheduled another fitting with a different salesperson.

My final fitting was yesterday, and the dress fit horribly. It was too big on top and too long. The salesperson replied with, "Well it's not our fault you must have lost some weight." More than an inch around the bust and waist since two weeks ago? Like every bride, I've been watching what I eat, but come ON, there's no way I magically lost inches in 2 weeks...the fact is they measured incorrectly and tried to make me pay for alterations for THEIR mistake, AGAIN.

I'm hoping it fits next week and I can put all this behind me. If it doesn't, I'll be hunting for another seamstress, since they CLOSE the two weeks before my wedding.

Bad customer service, inconsistent and incorrect communication and some really random horrible stuff. Stay away. I would give negative stars if I could.

Talk about bad service! i bought a Prom Dress there and went back for my wedding dress because i felt comfortable there. well was i wrong not only did they order my dress 3 sizes to big they promised me the stitching on my whie and blue dress would be silver and if was gold. when i brought this up they said they never said that to me. i was told my bridesmaids dresses would be in no later then the 12th of September, two weeks later they were still not in i called every week first i was told they were stuck in customs, then i was told they had lost them then i was told i needed to stop calling because it was harassing, well no you lost my dresses it is not harassing. 5 weeks later they came in. then i tried to make an appt to have the girls try the dresses on as they had just came in. i was told this was completely ridiculous and a waste of there time. well no i can come and see my dress when ever i want. after figiting about the appt i finally made one. today was the appointment day we went and one of my bridesmaids had the wrong dress!!!! they told me there was nothing i could do besides buy i new dress!!!! are you kidding me! i was shown a dress we ordered that dress they wrote down the wrong number. they said it was my fault for not checking! how i am supposed to know what the vendor number is? i ordered the dress i was shown and that was not what came in. the owner JoAnn proceeded to yell and scream at me while i am having a panic attack saying i need to settle down!!!! needless to say i immediately took all 7 of my dresses out of the shop to get them altered elsewhere! JoAnn the owner has no compassion she messed up and would not correct it. not only was it the wrong dress it was the same dress as my Maid of Honor!!!!!!!! so wrong! Don't go!!!!!!! they would not even attempt to help! or admit they made the mistake!!!!!

Photographs of the dress selection process and fittings also serve as nice memoirs of wedding planning. Shopping in a bakery is really not a comparable experience to buying a wedding dress.

While some brides may settle for an internet knock-off, the overwhelming majority of brides still feel more comfortable purchasing their gowns in a real, brick and mortar dress shop. (I know I do.) These prudent consumers are also going to want to know the dress designer and price BEFORE considering a several thousand dollar investment. If you fail to be up front about the most basic parameters of the purchase, you are not going to 'protect' your inventory as much you are going to create skepticism in these savvy women.

When I visited Clara Milas, the dresses had no tags (i.e. I had no idea what quality garment I was looking at) and the prices were not disclosed. Staff refused to provide this information unless an order was placed. This made going home and discussing potential dress selections and budget with my fiance and bridesmaids totally impossible. I really had no choice but to visit other bridal shops where I could make an educated purchase.

As a part of my occupation, I respond to customer complaints. I know firsthand that some customers can be very difficult and make some rather unreasonable demands. However, good customer service is about diplomatically resolving the customer's concerns. I would never, in my wildest imagination, go online and make such an unprofessional post about our customers, no matter how trying a small percentage of them may be. Shame on you, Clara Milas.

The only wonderful thing about Clara Milas is that I absolutely loved my wedding dress. The customer service there is HORRIBLE except from Lori, who is wonderful!! She should be the manager/owner because she knows how to treat customers with respect. When my veil came in, it was the wrong one and the owner was trying to tell me it was my fault since I signed the paper. It ended up being their fault but never once did I get an apology. To be perfectly honest when they reordered the veil , the one that came in was not even the right one AGAIN. I was running out of time so I didnt fight it (I liked the veil they were giving me so thats mainly why I didnt fight it). Bottom line is that I will not recommend Clara Milas to any of my friends who will be getting married soon. I ordered my dress about 4 months ago, and the dress even came in early. I love the dress more than I thought I would. I definitely recommend this bridal shop to anyone looking for a dress.

Went to the shop last night - Laurie was very nice and friendly. I found one dress that I liked - they couldn't tell me who the designer was. That is BS if you ask me. I want to know what I am wearing especially if I am paying $1K for it. Don't worry Clara Milas, I am a hard working professional who doesn't have time to shop around for THAT dress. The price tags don't scare me. If I like the dress, I am buying it. So, let me know who I am wearing. Don't you want me to brag about my lovely gown at my wedding as well as the designer and your shop?? And, while I was there, the owner (ick) got into a lovely fight with a customer. I am in the customer service industry and let's just say Ms. Clara Milas wouldn't survive one day outside of her dumpy little store that she thinks is the Kleinfelds of Buffalo! I am going to call there today to see if they can tell me the designer - I have my doubts that I will get my answer. I am glad that I found another dress that I like equally...at a different shop where no fights break out between the owner and the customers. Oh! And Classic Bridals in Cheektowaga will tell you who your designer is. No BS there.
Update: I called to inquire the designer and three people including the ever friendly and whom I thought helpful Laurie, advised that I'd have to pay for it in order to find out the designer or obtain a photo.

I have worked in the Bridal industry for 30+ years. It is customary to take the labels out of dresses and has been an ongoing practice for as long as I can remember. The reason no cell phone/picture phones is valid. You cannot take these into a bakery and many other places. These businesses have invested great resources into their stock and merchandise. After spending time and effort, why should they forfeit their business because ignorant customers take pictures of product to find elsewhere for a cheaper price such as the Internet with retailers that have no overhead costs, have not invested in inventory, and order based upon the work and service provided by your local retailers. Its no wonder in Buffalo that we see business go under. Shame on these women who are so self absorbed in the "its my day" syndrome. Guess what ladies...not just your day, its the grooms day and the families' day. Go ahead and go to David's, a national chain that does not keep your dollars locally, where you are buying an inferior product for an inflated price and believe me will charge you your first born to alter a gown. You get what you pay for.... If you want quality, then you go to a professional. Clara Milas has been around so many years because they DO provide a wonderful service. Yes mistakes happen. And guess what else, customers lie, esp. bridesmaids because they are jealous or vindictive. It happens all the time. And MOB's, get control of your daughters because the bridal industry is out of control catering to these self absorbed brides. Unfortunately, many times there is nothing you can do to make these people happy as they believe drama is all part of the wedding experience and they look to create drama where there is none! My sister in law is getting married we ordered a junior brides maid dress and flower girl dress for my daughters that cost almost $350.00. They are supposed to be the professionals at ordering dresses. When I picked up their dresses they were to small, when I called they basically told me this was my problem. My girls measurements did not change, i now have to take these dresses to someone to have them let out which is not easy to do. I'm so unhappy with this company i suggest anyone getting married do not take your wedding party to this bridal shop, they do not stand by there product.

My cousin called and asked if we could do that. They told her it would be no problem. So we go and when we got there they said they did not have an appointment time for me and my cousin got the date wrong for hers. We are both well organized when it comes to our weddings, she did not get the date wrong. Well they let us stay, only I was not allowed to try on dresses. That should have been the clue to walk out. I agree with everyone else about the tags being ripped out. I'm sorry, but I want to know who makes the dress because some designers will do custom work and others will not. When my cousin had finally tried a dress on, she came into the small room with mirrors and wanted to try a vail on. I had my phone out talking to my fiance and the woman yelled at me and told me she would take my camera away. I told her it was a phone and I was talking to someone. I was furious! How dare they talk to someone like that? We are the ones spending money. When she finally left. I took about five pictures just to spite her. In the end my cousin and I left after trying on one dress and will NEVER go back or recommend to anyone.

My review has not changed of this store.I know for a fact it has not changed management. Their customer service is great and they try to be accommodating as possible, some people are rude and know matter what you do,they are not happy.

My first experience with Clara Milas was in 2000 when I was a bridesmaid in my friend's wedding, and she had picked out dresses from there. When I went there for my first fitting, everything was fine. When the dress arrived, it needed some alterations, because I had lost a bit of weight. The alterations they did were terrible. The dress was somewhat "backless" but after having the dress altered, it kept slipping right off me. It was sleeveless, and practically any time I moved my arms, the armholes would start to slip off my shoulders. I almost had a "wardrobe malfunction" several times. Plus, it was too long. For the alterations, I wore the shoes I was going to be wearing in the wedding. I could see that the dress was too long, but the woman would not shorten it! She kept insisting that the length was fine, and that if she did alter it, she wouldn't take off more than a half inch, if I wanted to pay for just taking off a half inch (said in a snotty tone of voice). A half inch wasn't going to help, so I had to have more alterations done elsewhere.

My second experience was during the planning of my own wedding in 2006. I tried to go in the store to look at some accessories (veil, tiara, etc.) just to see what they had. I was stopped at the front desk by a woman who would not let me into the store! She said that they did not allow people to look around unless they are accompanied by a sales clerk, because some things are locked up. I said, "But what if I just want to look around and not touch anything or try it on?" Her response: "It's not gonna happen." Those were her exact words.

I will never visit this store again!

All I can say is I'm drowning in this dress. My sister has called to complain and see if they will help with the matter...They offer no assistance. They washed their hands of it. And they blame me for my own measurements. They asked my sister if I lost a lot of weight. They then said according to my measurements I should be a small breasted women with a bulge. Does this sound professional or like experts?
My sister even suggested taking measurements off of her but they insisted they were experts and that a size 16 is accurate for a 7/8.

Please, please, what ever you do avoid this place like the plague because they really don't care about your special day or how anyone looks!

Out of all the Bridesmaids, I'm from out of town. We were asked to provide measurements. They informed my sister the dresses ran small. I'm a 7/8 and always have been. They told my sister I would need a size 16. Now, no one else in my family recieved such a large size and we're all close in size. My sister the bride informed them that was too big and even suggested to take measurements from her. They still insisted with their expertise that, that was correct.
Well, I'm currently trying to have alterations done in NYC. And, my sister is on the phone with them constantly...They won't help and blame dme for taking my measurements. Oh, by the way my daughters measurements were right on for a Junior bridesmaid. They are not accomodating and if anything are out to make a fast buck off the dresses that they sell!
And to make matters worse they lost the measurements for one of the grooms, how ironic, he is from out of town too! Oh, they did not take responsibility again!

Be forewarned if you want to have nice gowns and no headache don't go to this shop...They praise themselves on professionalism and being experts...The only thing they are an expert on is swidelling bridal parties, especially those who reside out of town into wearing potato sacks. After 2 days of lies, they admitted that they made a "mistake". I am sure the fact that I told them I was taking legal action helped change their mind. I refused to take the right gown out of principle and we are going to court! Unless you want a disaster, STAY AWAY from Clara Milas!!! I should have known to stay away when I noticed they cut all the tags off the dresses and will not tell you the make of the dress until after you pay 50% of the gown price.
