Fine to deal with. The complainers are likely people who were evicted or damaged the place and didn't get security back.

I would never rent from Sall ASSociates ever again!!!! I currently live at 112 Murray signed a 1 year lease in dec. It is now march and I have for the first time been informed that the building was for sale and sold. How professional is that? They have promised me everything under the sun to make my move as convient as possible considering I work up to 70hr a week. So I did a lil research with my lawyer and we came to the conclusion that I'm not going any where my lease is a binding contract and the new owner can KISS MY ASS!!!!! I tried to be nice but after the continuous runarounds I'm done being nice. So to the Sall associates crew I best by amend you to bend over with out lube!! He he he he

they are the worst people to rent from. they have no idea what they are doing only thing they know is how to rip their customers off and try to get as much money out of you till you say enough is enough. they have an excuse for everything and when you have evidence and know your facts thats when they act like they never tried to take your money and act like they doing you a favor. they lie and say you didnt pay rent and come up with every little excuse so that you dont get your deposite back. if you ever rent from them pay everything with a card so you have proff in your bank statement and take picture before and after you move. when you call them they will tell you they will call you back to help and they never do and then threaten to send everything to collections. they think life and money is a game and try to ruin peoples lives and credit. they are selfish pigs especially the desk lady who really looks like a hog and has a crappy attitude. they think they are so smart and know everything but in actually they are all non educated townies putting up a front like they are better then they are. beware of salls associate not all people are honest and trustworthy.

Sall Associates is HORRIBLE. DON'T EVER RENT FROM THEM. I currently have a bed bug issue and they won't take care of it. I live in an apartment complex and it is difficult to treat just one apartment with success. I also have had a leaky roof and the company uses SKETCHY repair guys to do SHODDY repairs that don't last. They are slumlords, and will gladly let you sign out of your contract if you forfeit your security deposit. One month's rent gone for doing NOTHING wrong? Find anywhere else to rent from, they are HORRIBLE.

SALLS is terrible. 9 Seminary Ave - Binghamton Alumni

I fixed extensive plaster water damage in the bathroom. I repainted this and another entire room (second was unlivablely smelly and smoky). Replaced lock on the rear exit to the apartment, none existed when I moved in. Entire 12-apartment building was on the same thermostat--at 78 degrees!

Our fridge totally quit; I called SALLs immediately. Their appliance guy was great, there within hours. To their credit, they decided to straight-out replace it, instead of fooling with spot-treatment fixes. BUT they said they??d meet me and Olum??s the next day at the apartment. I skipped class for nothing and burned 11 hours of my time. SALLs guys no-showed. Only by calling Olums delivery department directly did I have any idea of what to expect. We lost over $70 worth of food as a result of SALL??s disorganization and inability to follow through.

Whenever I talked with them it was ALWAYS: "You know, we have over 400 apartments. You're not our only apartment." Huh. Guess what, to me (with a reasonable amount of understanding) I AM their only apartment. Get more staff or divest some places, simple, since you obviously can??t keep up with your sh*t.

BEWARE: Their leases end on the 25th of the last month. Unless you have another flexible place to move into then, where are you going to go until the 31st/1st? NOTE: Took 3 MONTHS and a week for them to return my deposit! I got: "You know, we have over 400 apartments" and "We lost your file" and "My hands are tied." Worse is that we left the place clean, in turnkey, move-in shape, with many improvements.

Maximize profit (Millionaire); minimize the amount of maintenance and service (Slumlord) to renter-clients.

Fantastic water pressure; unlimited hot water. Free heat, nice if you like it 78 and cold as h*ll when they turn off the heat before it's legal to do so by City ordinance. You get what you pay for??and pay for what you get. Stay FAR away.

Cons: EVERYTHING else= Poor

Here's why SALL is terrible. (Notice it's long.)
9 Seminary Ave - Binghamton

I picked a SALL place because of the ability to have two well-behaved dogs (they are so absentee that we were betting they wouldn't discover them??they didn??t); because, with only five months left of grad school, we didn't want to sign on to a one-year lease (I signed on to a current tenant's lease and essentially took it over, because he wanted to leave??perfect); and, beginning in January, it was important to us to have heat included.

As a result of the dogs??and because I wanted it done??I did all my own work on the place. I fixed extensive plaster water damage in the bathroom. I repainted this and another entire room (second was unlivablely smelly and smoky). Replaced lock on the rear exit to the apartment, the only existing when I moved in. Since the entire 12-apartment building was on the same thermostat, I found it and turned it down from a sweltering 82 to 72. It kept being changed back until maintenance put a lock box on it. I replaced all the smoky, grungy blinds in the place ($50). I replaced both front and rear entrance light bulbs at least twice each. I fixed both front and rear entrance door catches, so that they wouldn't simply be open for anyone to enter. Just few of things I fixed so as to have them done and not have to have SALL people. Ultimately, I spent $140 in material and another $200+ in labor, only to be forced out, per their lease, on the 25th so another (poor sucker) renter could come in THE NEXT DAY. No cleaning. No maintenance. They only fix things after called three times.

When our fridge totally quit, which had been flagging the whole time we were there (couldn??t freeze ice cream), I called them immediately. Their appliance guy was great, there with hours. To their credit, they did decide to straight-out replace it, instead of fooling with spot-treatment fixes.) They gave me a day they'd meet Olums at the apartment, which came and went, burning 11 hours of my time. I had had to skip class, for nothing. They no-showed. It was only after I called the Olums delivery department directly that I had any idea of what to expect. Not only is that hugely discourteous of my time, but with a non-functional fridge, we??re talking about potentially spoiling over a $100 dollars of food. We had to cook all the contents of our fridge and freezer so as to minimize food spoilage and through it in coolers (that we had to buy). We lost over $70 worth of food as a result of SALLs disorganization and inability to follow through on what they have told me.

Whenever I talked with them??about they dangerous and delinquent lack snow removal, maintenance issues, or later deposit refund--it was ALWAYS: "You know, we have over 400 apartments. You're not our only apartment." Huh. Guess what, to me (with a reasonable amount of understanding) I AM their only apartment. Maybe I should say, "Well, money's tight this month. Since you have 399 other renters, let them absorb the rent you need to collect this month." Get more staff or divest some places, simple, since you obviously can??t keep up with your sh*t.

Here's a good one. Their lease says that renters have to be out of their apartment by the 25th of the last month. BEWARE. Unless you have another flexible place to move into, where are you going to go. Though they were flexible, AFTER promising me in writing that I had till the 31, they let me stay until the 27th, a huge inconvenience when trying to move into the next place on the first.
Importantly, NOTE this: It took them 3 MONTHS! to return my deposit. I got: "You know, we have over 400 apartments" and "We lost your file" and "My hands are tied." What's the worst is that we left the place in turnkey, move-in shape, with many non-superficial improvements that we obviously couldn??t take with us, improvements that were greatly beneficial to their company.
Maximize profit; minimize the amount of maintenance and service to renter-clients. That??s their motto. Quantity (400 apartments) over quality.

That said, the water pressure was fantastic and there was unlimited warm water. Free heat, too, especially nice if you like it 78, without control, and cold as h*ll because they turned off the heat before it's legal by city law to??I believe May 1, if it's over 45 for a 24-hour period. Save some money, right?
Not bitter, just informed. I guess you are now, too. Okay, I am bitter. Stay FAR away.

Do not rent from Sall Associates! They promise you everything under the sun, and never deliver. I had a list of repairs when I first moved in, and they fixed the two least important things and nothing else, with no intention of returning. The apartments are not cleaned or maintained. I am stuck upkeeping my own apartment for sanitary living conditions because they won't do it themselves. These are horrible landlords. DO NOT RENT FROM Sall Associates!
