I called with a question and the receptionist (Chris) didn't know the answer. She immeditaly transfured me to an actual vet and i was able to have all my questions answered, asap! Who does that now a days? I got to talk to an actual vet in a timley mannor and she made me feel at ease! If i called my doctor, i would be waiting a week or two to speak with him directley! Best service! The clinic is friendly, warm and helpfull in everyway! If you are a good pet owner in the Ithaca area...Take your pet here!

I have never felt more taken adavntage of than going to this place. Here is my story:

I just moved here about a month ago so I did not know where else to go: My dog only poops about once a day and started pooping 4 times within 3 hours and then pooped twice after that, both with blood and mucous in the stool. I took my dog to to this place and talked to the Vet Sarah Meixell. She told me that his syptoms sounded as if he had worms and that he needed to be tested for it. Even though I had literally JUST taken him 2 weeks before to be tested and the results came back negative, which she would have seen if she had bothered to read his information that I provided her with.

I had also given them fecal matter of his to test, I asked IF he had worms-why my other dog did not have them and they told me that there are special cases of the other pet not getting them and that the fecal test I had done for my dog 2 weeks before could have not picked up the worms in the test and the best way would be to take a blood worm test just to make sure.

All in all the vet convinced me to take the test [I assumed "Hey she knows more than I do"] She said she would call me in the afternoon with the results [My appt was at 10]. It was then 5 and still no call, so I called them. Jamie Small answered the phone stating that the vet tech was too busy to call me and that the results for my dog all came back negative. That was it.

I asked her "Okay well what am I supposed to do now, the reason why I went to you was to find out what was wrong with my dog?" She told me that I could put him back on the heartworm medication [Even though I stated in the appt that I didn't have any for him] Then she tried to sell me heartworm medication [Still not telling me what was wrong with my dog] and decided to raise her voice and only apologized after I called her out on it and said the vet would call tomorrow so that way we can discuss the matter.

Never received a phone call from the vet the next day. What makes me the most upset was that I spent $100 to find out what I already knew-that he didn't have worms and I felt as if they were just using me for my money and tried to sell me heartworm medication. Also, I waited ALL afternoon just to hear from them and I just wonder, if I hadn't called them would they have even bothered to call me before they closed at 6? My dog had blood in his stool-I didn't know what was going on and then when I have to call them for the results, she tells me nothing afterwards.

Thanks for taking advantage of my situation Vet Care. I still don't know what's wrong with my dog $100 later. I will NEVER come back here and I don't recommend that ANYONE does if you truly care about your pet.
