I was out and about for happy hour last Friday night. As it turned out my early evening forwarded to an early morning with a hungry stomach. I entered pastafina. Though the staff was attentive the pizza was old and the taste was horrible. When I asked if that had anything fresh, they responded with "this is fresh" The quality of the pizza was a step above a chain pizza store (Dominos, Papa John's). The cheese was low grade as was the taste of the sauce, tasted like it was straight out of the can.

Pastafina is a great Manhattan pizza spot. The menu ranges from pizza to wings (which are arguably the BEST in Manhattan) but they are always a staple for late nights. The pizza is excellent (4 stars) but what puts them over the top is their dedication to the neighborhood.

I was recently baking a pizza at home and went to various spots around Kips/Murray Hill to purchase dough. Mikes Due was useless, so was Copolla (awful food) and Vezzo. The supermarkets didn't have any and time was running out. I went to Pastafina and the friendly staff were excited to help and sold me four pieces of dough to make a few pies with family. THIS is how you treat customers and I highly recommend stopping in the next time you're in the neighborhood.

Pros: Friendly staff, above-average pizza, Top 5 destination for NYC Wings, Open late

Cons: Occassional long line.
