Buffalo Drum Outlet has long endured the limitations of a small shop on Walden Avenue in Buffalo, but with its recent move up the street to a location on Transit Rd. near Walden Ave., they've brought their legendary drummers' expertise to a much more accessible location.
Open since 1980, owner Paul Musilli has been providing expert knowledge to novice and professional drummers for over 25 years. Everyone who works at BDO is a drummer, so unlike the big chain stores, you get knowledgable advice, expert recommendations that won't waste your money, and fair prices on top quality products.

I'll never forget one of my first experiences working with Paul, when I had to tweak the cymbal collection I'd bought with a used drum kit. I was able to try a number of cymbals, some of which were pre-conceived notions about what I wanted - yet Paul offered insightful recommendations - without trying to sound like a know-it-all. It changed some of my wants, and I was able to trade up a few of my cymbals to build the collection I wanted. I really appreciated not being pressured, or moved into high-margin products that didn't address what I was LISTENING for.

Also worthy of note is that Paul has brought numerous drum clinics to Buffalo featuring some of the world's premier percussion talent. I've been to clinics featuring Chad Wackerman, Terry Bozzio, Joel Rosenblatt, Simon Phillips, the Maelstrom Ensemble and others - and believe me - moments in all of these were life-changing for me as a drummer.

Whether you're looking for hand drums, complete drum sets, replacement hardware, retrofitting/repair, electronic drums, or just a good pair of sticks or instructional video- BDO has it. They also have an excellent staff of instructors who work very well with young beginners or seasoned professionals alike. If it's a quick stop, anyone might stop at one one of the large chain stores and find some fair advice and the product they're looking for. However, if you're making an investment in your instruments, or your talent, you owe it to yourself to get the best advice, stay tuned into the local drumming scene, and build a relationship with a superb local retailer. There is no better choice in Buffalo than BDO.
