.

This place has excellent decor and makes a good impression; the live music isn't bad and it feels cozy--much nicer than most of the restaurants on Curry Row. However, I can't say the service and food was worth it when we went.

Like many of the 6th Street restaurants, this place tries to lure you in with dinner specials posted outside, but then doesn't include the specials on the actual menu you get. When we ordered chicken tikka masala, we were informed that it was only available as a special before 7 p.m. on the weekends (this was not written on the sign outside). They let us have it anyway, since we had to wait for 20 minutes (while watching another group be seated before us though they arrived after we did). Maybe we made them angry, I'm not sure, because the "chicken tikka masala" we got was four sad pieces of chicken in a sauce that was vindaloo-level spicy and had none of the sweet cream flavor that usually comes with the dish.

Not all of the food was that bad, but it was not worth the aggravation of the wait or the exasperated attitude of the staff. Also, the yogurt we got as dessert tasted a bit spoiled...

I did notice that many of the other diners (and there were many) seemed to be having a good time. Still, I'm not willing to give this place a second chance.
