Bobby's Department Store

Why is it taking so long for Bobby's to go online? I hope this service is ready by the time the summer bargains are available.

I give Bobby's Dep't Store 5 stars. I refer to Bobby's Dept. Store as our "Local Macy's" because you can always find something of value at Bobby's to buy. Sometimes many of us go to Bobby's to buy one single item, and we come out spending more because we alway find somethig else that we can use at a bargain price.

Ever since I was a little girl my mom shopped for me at Booby's. All the kids use to make fun of me because I didn't wear name brand clothes. Now I am a mother/grandmother and I teach my children, that what you wear doesnt determine who you are! I was always clean and neatly pressed. I am a medical professional today and still shop at Bobbys. Love you Bobby's you are the go-to store for everything! You name it, they have it! Much success

I have been shopping at Bobby's since 1988. I feel that this store has brought me through all my financial ups and downs. When I started as a babysitter and struggling to maintain an apartment and also while attending college and working part time jobs. What about the times I was unemployed ,I was still able to purchase all my household necessities and clothing at a reasonable price. I know the merchandise will not last forever but it is good value for your money. Now I am able to afford higher end store prices but I remain faithful to Bobby's...the BEST department store there is. Trust me people you won't go wrong with BOBBY"S

I have always loved this store I live in nashville tn. When I visit my daughter in Brooklyn this is the first place to visit. Every bodt I know gets a gift from Bobbies. Iwould like to order a few things soon as I can Thank you Bobbys for things I can afford, Mary Pirtle

I have been shopping at Bobby's Department store, Ditmas Park, for over 24 years, great merchandise at such an affordable price. The staff is courteous, friendly and very attentive. I have shopped all over the city and the catskills, you can't beat Bobby's prices and quality of merchandise. I have referred many friends and family to Bobby's and they all feel the same, " One definitely gets his or her, money's worth at Bobby's, keep on doing your thing, may you ahve another 100 successful years ahead.

i love shopping at yr store am from the west indies .everytime i come to the us for vacation shopping at ur store is a must....in 2006 i bought a new home n i came to the states to shop for household n kitchen items. i took advantage of ur bargains n i haven,t regretted it an inch an still use all my kitchen utensils n i keep coming back for more. i just wish u had online shopping.

Hi i am writing in regards to my shopping experience at Bobby,s Dept. Store. On Saturday September 4, 2010, i was shopping. I was asking for a cashier who works there for a long time, i didn't see her. So i ask for her, i was told that she don't work there anymore, so i ask why. I was told that she was fired because of a customer. I can't believe this happen, she is a nice lady. How can u let an employee go after so many years of service at this store. I have been shopping at bobby's since the 1980's. The Black community have been supporting this store since it has been open, u are letting some one go because of petty complaints from customers. Everywhere u go customers are always complaining. This is no major reason to fire someone. I am sorry to hear this, not all of your employees are nice, i have had my share of attitudes from some of your employees, but i didn't make a big deal about it. You should look into all of your other cashiers, some of them are very rude. The reason i say these things, is because the cashier i go to have always been helpful to me. Thank u

Dear sir/madam, on september 3, 2010, i was in your store shopping, when i was done, i went to cash my merchandise and i was looking for my cashier who i only go to. So i was inquiring about her, i was told by one of your employee that this cashier was fired. I am shock, because she has been working here for so many years. She is my favorite cashier, because she provides good service and she is very nice. You have other cashiers that are very rude and nasty attitude. I did have a bad experience with one of them, i was there one time doing a refund and she had a very bad attitude with me. I am glad to find out that u have this site where customers can make complaints. I am sorry that this has happen, i really wish u would think about this situation of letting your dedicated employees go. She is a good cashier. Thank you for taking the time read my comment.

I Been a customer for years in bobby"s but a few weeks
.n ago i can to buy some cermic lamp for my houseou. I pay for it and the cashier. Was asking me questiion the lamp that where i would put if and she was laughing wirh the other cashier. I spenf ober 200 dollors. That day but aftet i walk away their were stilk laughing at me. So i went and took my money back. Plus i told the manger why i yook my money back. I hope they talk to het or they would lose customet.

I can't wait until Bobby's goes on line and I hope you can order stuff and have it mailed to the Caribbean. Whenever I go to NY ,the first store I visit is Bobby's because I get more for my money and the items last a long time...... I have a dress that I wear which was bought there in 2002 and it is still in good condition. You also get the best deals with children stuff, just the right prices as kids grow out of their clothing so quickly.

I like shopping at Bobby's and reference to a comment that someone made..yes Trinidadians and people from the Caribbean like cheap things but we also know quality. I have bought a few things (clothing) from Bobby's whilst on vacation they have lasted me a few years well. I am looking forward to shopping there in August. Keep up the good work!

You guys over rated bobby store. Yes things are cheap but you can only wear them just one time and when washed it is no good. there are better buys at macys , target and other large dept stores if you are willing to take the time and look. people just look for cheap not thinking that the mechandise are not in good standing. yes Trinidad and other caribbean people like cheap things and do not consider that they are wasting money for just one buy.

i am a resident of manhattan . i heard so much about bobbys that i finallly decided to go to church ave in brooklyn and boy was it worth the trip .i was amazed from the second i walked in- ive never seen so much merchandise packed into a store its evrywhere even hung from the ceilings! they have amazing housewares and linen dept at prices i couldnt believe much less.. than half off than stores like bed bath and beyond .I shopped so much and even found great accesories like a huge decorative mirror i saw at a upscale store in manhattan for $650 i got it for $89.99 unbelievable..how do they do it ?..all in all i definetly recomend you go to bobbys they also have a clothing dept that i didnt have a chance to goto (its across the street )but ill be back soon ...one suggestion go on a weekday i went on a weekend it was very busy

love love love it i bought some curtains,clothes, bathroom essentials and was really impress. The staff is so helpful Iived a few blocks from the store on church ave.However i also went to the on Utica and it very affordable and quality to the max.

Budget challenged

Hi. I'm from the Carribean. I have shop at your stores while in USA and found that they range of products where varied and the prices attactive.

However, now that I'm back in my country I would like to shop from your store Online and it's not avaliable.

Can you explore this forum for shopping at your Department store. I assure you, it would pay off big time. Your sales will go up tremendously.

I could not believe it, I got a dress for $4.99 from Bobby's on Church Avenue. I am from the Caribbean and this dress would have been sold for over $150.00 in my homeland. I enjoyed my shopping on Monday at the store, I will be back there before I leave for my home on September 18. Looking forward to receiving more bargains. All the best to the Management and Staff, you are surely doing a good job.

I am from Trinidad and usually vacation in the U.S, sometimes twice a year and I never leave without shopping at Bobby's. Its my favorite place for bargains, clothes for my kids and household stuff at great prices, the staff are a bit unfriendly though, but otherwise if you are looking for good deals Bobby's is your store...

I found some high quality jeans and shirts for my daughter, but the staff were rude. It may have been because I was the only caucasian in the store. I felt unwelcomed, whether by design, I don't know, but it wasn't pleasant. I tried to return a pair of jeans with the price on them and the receipt, and had to argue with the sales person to obtain the right refund. I was told to stand in 3 different lines to get the refund, and then was told to step aside because they couldn't help me. I wondered if there were unwritten rules that had to do with race... I would go back, but only with the awareness that the inexpensive prices were a trade-off for decent customer service. Don't go if you're in a hurry or want an efficient check out/refund experience.

I like to take a drive down to Bobbys Department store in Brooklyn for things, because of their prices. I like to get clothes from here for my kids, because they are cheap, and they will grow out of it soon, they have great bargains on household items and the service is fast and efficient. The selection is extensive and you can walk out with a good amount with a low budget. Its definitely worth the trip.

Bobby's is not your typical department store. You can come in everyday and get different significant bargains on clothing (women, men, children), household supplies (cleaning supplies, pots, pans, utensils, bric a brac, lamps, tables, mirrors, vases), beauty supplies (soap, lotion, hair stuff), food (snacks) and a large selection of window blinds, pillows, blankets, sheets, etc.

My one weakness is their shoe section. In the summer, it's a mad dash for their great selection of cheap (really cheap in price not quality) sandals and shoes. You can get about 3 or 4 pairs of very nice in style sandals for about $15. Can't beat that. The store is so popular, you can always expect long lines. That's really due to management not always opening up ALL the registers, not the cashiers. The cashiers are always friendly and move relatively quickly.

PROS: Discount prices, great selection of apparel, shoes, household items
CONS: so much stuff & people, it's sometimes hard to maneuver through the store

This is a store like Cookies. It has a lot of cheap children's clothes, but in addition it has other items for adults. I prefer Bobby's Dept. Store because it is a larger space, which means you can actually breathe without inhaling someone else's bad breath. You can walk in, pick up your items, and have them checked out in a reasonable amount of time. The place is well-organized in sections so everything is easy to find.

I love shopping here. Thier prices are amazing, and the selection is unbeatable. They have all sorts of items, including strollers and a very large selection of clothing. The one thing I didn't like was that I was told that strollers are not allowed, which makes it difficult if not impossible to shop when you have a child with you. There have really nice items at low prices. There is also another store across the street that sell even more items including kitchen appliances. The lines are usually long so sometimes you need to expect a delay.

If you are on a budget. this is the best place to come and buy stuff for your home. they sell things for your hair, skin kitchen items, bath room items, clothing and shoes. but the place is not always kept in order, clothing are on the floor and they just pick it up and put in on the hanger dirty and all, even in the clean pile you will find clothing with holes in them. lines are long and cashiers are slow
