I was skeptical when my girlfriend drove me 45 minutes to eat here - but the glazed happy looks of the frat boys leaving the restaurant convinced me. The owners were great - greeting my gf by name - and the place was PACKED. The food was stupendous. Portions were huge and well-spiced. It's a schlep - but so worth it.

Had a great meal with a large party. Very cool decor, you can eat inside a train car. Some of us thought it was great, including me, some thought it could have been spicier. Nice special occasion restaurant.

My wife and I have been going here for about the past year and a half. 10 years ago and prior, the restaurant here was called "The 1890 Dining Car" because you can eat in an actual dining car besides the "regular" dining area. That was a great place to dine as is this place. If you haven't eaten Indian food and arent familar with Indian food, go to theirr website and print out the menu before you go there. They have a wide variety of food that is cooked with Indian ingredients. The food is not spiced to the point where it is "Hot." We always start out with the KING PRAWN (Shrimp) CHATPATTA appetizer and I like either the Tandoori Chicken or Tandoori Steak for the main meal. My wife normally gets either the FISH TIKKA or a Lamb kebob. We then order the TANDOORI PRAWNS (which includes rice) to split. We like the GARLIC NAAN bread and order either a mushroom or okra curry as a vegatable dish. They have a great selection of wine. They is enough food served that we bring home enough for 2 dinners at home. I highly recommend this restaurant.

PROS: Terrific food, excell. reasonable priced wine and skilled waiters
CONS: Absolutely none

This is a great restaurant. I think that even if it were in the middle of a big city people would still go out of their way to go there. But in the small town, it really sticks out as the place to go. The spicey authentic indian food is amazing. Although, on the pricey side, it is totally worth it. Also, the cool dining area created out of an old train car provides a cool atmosphere.

By far my favorite Indian restaurant in all of Long Island. The food is outstanding, and the portions are generous, and the waiters are friendly. What more could you want? Also, don't miss the outstanding lunch buffet! The Curry Club is a gem! (note, the address is listed as Saint James, but it is in E. Setauket)

PROS: Delicious, Generous Portions, Friendly Staff
CONS:

my husband and I eat here often! (Our first date was there) This is one of our favorite spots.. The owner greets you and checks in on you at your meal...The wait staff is incredible, attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu and wines. The place could use an up-dated makeover, but it is not dreadful. The food is fantastic. I have never eaten anything better then this. We have our favorites, but everything we try is delectable. They have a great weekly lunch and sunday buffet. all you can eat awsome and good price. The ambience is good: candle light, indian music, incense burning....I always bring out of town friends there and they always want to go back on return visits! Great for take out too! In my opinion the wine selection could be better as well as the dessert menu.
