For the 25+ years I've been ordering in from Italian Village, it is always consistent, delicious, and reasonable. Whenever we go to a more expensive basic Italian restaurant, we always remark about the fact that Italian Village is better. Great spaghetti and meatballs, sausage, pizza, and even the more sophisticated dishes are fantastic. Plus, if it's not on their menu, they'll make it for you. You can't go wrong with this place.

It's not fancy, but the food rates among the best down-to-earth nonpretentious Italian food i've ever had.
When I lived across the street 20 years ago it was a mainstay for delivery and it was just like a pizza stand then. Now there is a pleasant dining room. Service very friendly. Among three people we had a huge antipasto salad that we couldn't finish, a cooked antipasto with clams, stuffed mushrooms and eggplant,
veal parmigiana with spaghetti and chicken parmigiana with linguini. It tastes so good that I want to go back everynight I am in New York. Now I live in a pretentious, hicktown where the finest Italian ristorante couldn't come close to this classic. Total with tip was $67 and that was for 2 huge antipasti, one cold and one cooked, 2 entrees, dessert and coffee and leftovers to go.

Pros: Food, service, location, price

A small local place that will not break your bank or empty your pocketbook. Reasonable & tasty entrees, dessert & espresso in back restaurant area.. often noisy though! There is also a pizza joint in front.... very popular in the neighborhood!

It's been around forever but stays great. My dining partner and I were each eying the Italian bread and then made a grab for it and got into a tug of war over the loaf. You can take out food, eat it there or get it delivered in record time to your apartment. They have a great variety of food. Pizza is fantastic, I recommend any parmigiana dish: veal, chicken or eggplant. It certainly is not elegant but is a fun place to enjoy your food.
We had pizza, spaghetti and two main dishes and it cost $32 for two people. The service is very nice as well.

Italian Village is both a pizza joint and a sit down Italian restaurant. It is often quite busy. The pizza is quite good. In the back of the restaurant there is a dining room with waiter service. They serve basic Italian pastas and entrees such as veal marsala. The pastas cost approximately $10 and are decent. The Penne alla Vodka is surprisingly good and the marsala is pretty good, but a little on the small side.
