DO NOT SHOP HERE! Rogue is TERRIBLE this place is a total chop shop run by the least knowledgeable, most dishonest and rudest bunch on the planet. After a bad repair experience that almost cost me $500 I decided to go back and support

Rogue is a great place to sell your gear for quick cash, but you get a better deal if you're trading for something new (which is often the case). Because it's known as a "used" store most people don't think to check them out for new gear. They carry lots of major brands and will even get you a better price than the mega stores on stuff they don't carry.
Like other small stores the staff is overworked and underpaid. If you go in when it's busy and the phone is ringing you may feel under-served; but come in when it's slow and they'll talk shop patiently.
I've been going there for over 20 years and not once has someone tried to sell me something just because it's what they have (like they do in the big stores).
Also, if you've got a home studio you can rent just about everything they've got, so if you want a fancy compressor for just one mixing session, there it is.
FInally- there's a comment here about racism which is absolute BS. Just like anywhere else, if you go in there with an attitude (WASP, Jewish Princess, OR Thug) people are going to treat you as you treat them. Be real with them and they'll be real with you.

Pros: Best place to buy music gear.

Cons: Too many guitar pedals to choose from.

Various associates of mine have shopped there, and many have vowed never to return, even to save a few bucks. The owner is truly disrespectfuly to many Black customers, and this attitude trickles down to 90% of the staff. But Rogue isnt' alone, the Arts community in New York, contrary to what seems to be the case on the surface, has extremely high levels of bigotry, although (amazingly) less than traditional corporate New York corporate circles...

Pros: Good prices on used equipment

Cons: Bigotry starts right at the top with the owner, and trickles
