The Scene
Two soaring stories, draped in red-velvet curtains with dramatic opera boxes overlooking the dining room, couldn't be more indulgent: Bordello lamps hang above plush, upholstered round booths, and suited mixologists man the showpiece wood bar. Service is extraordinary: Between all the hosts, maitre d's, wait captains and servers, diners are pampered until the last bite.

The Food
The standard steakhouse menu arrives in the form of a monologue, but it's also written on the blackboard above the bar. Crab cakes, crispy-crusted baked clams, and gorgeously dressed, crispy Caesars draped with fresh-cured anchovies are good starts. The prime dry-aged steaks are some of the city's priciest, but they're worth the splurge: T-bones and Flintstone-sized rib eyes arrive with a crispy broiled crust, which accounts for their impressive juiciness. Desserts include a gooey chocolate souffle, super-sweet creme brulee and a decadent Mississippi mud cake.

Key Points

  • New York's Finest Kobe Beef
  • Rated By Zagat as Excellent
  • Private and Corporate Events

The Inside Scoop

  1. Look Good - A porterhouse for two is the restaurant's signature offering and generously portioned for couples on a date.
  2. What to Drink - The wine list is surprisingly affordable: Renwood's Barbera and Viogner ($40) are two great bottles for the price.

GREAT STEAK

by Kara L. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 5,453

When I went to Uncle Jack's Steak House, I was very impressed!!! I did not really have to wait too long and the service was very efficient. The steak was nice and juicy and for a reasonable price.

Ass-of a place

by Critic1

we asked for medium and the meat was to undercooked. I asked for A1 sauce and the waiter laughed and said no. He said all they had was their specialty sauce, which I did not get what was so special about it. The steak was bland and dry enough, the sauce did nothing to improve it. The bill was outrageous for c***. The food took forever to come out. I think the place is prejudiced, because these white customers came a lot later than we did, but their food came out way before ours did. The gratituity was outrageous when the service was awful. I woud rather recomend T.G.I. fridays. The salad was not that great. I have tasted better steak and food elsewhere. My parents were trying to show one of our guests from Korea a great American dish, but he was not very pleased. The dim lights do not work in such a small environment. It felt more like a prison rather than a romantic place. I've to better places. DON"T GO THERE!
and also if I could I would not want to put even one star for this place.

Not one of the top steak spots

by rcbnyc

Are you people for real? I've a steak lover and Uncle Jacks isn't even in my Top 10. I went there because I had a $100 gift card and even with my giftcard the bill was outrageous. The decor is kinda cool but it just feels like Christmas in there all year long. The location is awful and the servers are totally obnoxious. They seated us 30 minutes late and didn't offer us a drink at the bar--expected us to sit there ordering drinks until our table was ready. Seriously? Don't bother with this place... it will disappoint.

Pros: cool interior

Cons: totally overpriced

GREAT EXPERIENCE!!

by CSMobileUser2

My boyfriend and I ended going to Uncle Jack's for his bday. We were running late and couldn't make our reseverations elsewhere. I'm glad we did. Service was phenomenal and the food was great! The porterhouse for two was on point! They also surprised him with a bday dessert as they overheard us talking about his bday. I was gonna tell them on the sly but they heard and did it automatically. How ATTENTIVE is that?? Great, romantic spot for couples. Its pricey but worth it!!! I've added htem to my cell phone address book.

5 stars

by AnnaHan

5 stars for the ambiance and, more importantly, the steak. My boyfriend and I got a cozy, romantic table that was sort of a semi-circular booth, and our steaks were simply out of this world. Mine was cooked just right, although his was not (I can't remember whether he said it was too rare or too well-done, but it was one or the other). Also, the lobster cocktail I got for an appetizer was crazy-good.

Pros: Enjoy the steaks

All I can say is "Wow"

by HelenGHelenG

Just got back from Uncle Jack's, and all I can say is "Wow". My boyfriend and I both had the Prime Filet, both cooked to perfection (mine Med Rare, his Rare). I at first thought that the $40 price tag for a filet was a bit pricey, but you must consider that this is not your Outback filet- this is a huge 16 ounce steak. The flavor was sublime. The garlic mashed potatoes were great, and the sauteed green beans were to die for, with nice big chunks of garlic and some spices. Unfortunately, given the huge steak there was no room for dessert- I even brought home a doggie bag for the remainder of my steak (admitedly, not much), and my girls went nuts over the steak too. The wine list was extensive (again, a bit pricy, but so many choices!). This is definitely the place to go if you want a steak that will knock your socks off. Oh, and the service was phenomenal as well- not pushy, but extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

Pros: The huge 16 ounce steak, and flavor was sublime

Cons: No room for dessert

The Porterhouse and Kobe Steaks are Unbelievable

by ScarlettS

The amount of taste in the Porterhouse and Kobe steaks are beyond what you tastebuds might be able to handle! The atmosphere is amazing and full of old fashioned 50-60's tiffany hanging lamps. The vibe and visual that you feel from Jacks is just wonderful. Their caesar salads are delicious and they even have an herb'ish tasteful dressing for other garden salads.

Somewhat expensive, but worth every penny! Enjoy Uncle Jacks unique dining experience. This particular Uncle Jacks has been around for some odd 70 years I think.

Pros: 5 stars for Ambiance but more importantly, The Steak

Why did we go here?

by SydneyMadison

Walking into this cozy looking restaurant I thought it would be good. WRONG! The caesar salad was yuk, the sauteed spinach was inedible. The crabcakes were all bread, shall I go on. The salmon was over cooked and the steak tasted sweet. Sweet? Like it had sugar on it....double yuk!
Don't mind spending money when it is good, but this was such a rip off!

Pros: near MSG

Cons: everything else

the BEST STEAKHOUSE in New York City

by TopHatt

I've eaten in every steakhouse in New York City. Uncle Jack's is by far the best staekhouse in everyway. First, the steaks are unbelievably excellent. There is a quality that I can't describe but there's a remarkable difference in the taste, it's subtle but it makes difference. The Porterhouse which I've had at Jacks on 4 occassions was remarkably consistent and cooked to perfection, a welcome chane from Ben Benson's Smith and wollensky that do poor jobs and live off the reputation earned decades ago when they had litle competition. Even new comer Del Friscos has problems delivering food as ordered. The Crab Cakes at Uncle Jack's are worth the trip alone. When you taste these crab cakes you immediately know there's nothing else like it. Service is 5 star. No better service in ANY restaurant in NY. Go to Uncle Jack's once and you'll go back again and again.

Pros: Excellent Service, and a Great Menu

Truly disappointing

by ladyesq

My second trip to dinner at Uncle Jacks. First time was mediocre but thought I'd give it one more go for post-show dinner on a Sat night as it is close to MSG. Service was really subpar. Overheard the waiter complaining on my way back from the restroom that we had only ordered glasses of the house cabernet instead of a full bottle. Even if I misunderstood him, bad form to do any complaining within earshot of customers. When I asked if there were steak sauces available, a different waiter responded that because the steaks were top quality, the chef didn't believe in "smothering" their steaks in sauce in a very snobby way. Tried the T-bone, filet and strip. T-bone was definitely the best of the three. Caesar salad was very good, as was the mozzerella/tomato apps but the creamed spinach and garlic mashed sides and heavily breaded/filled crab cake app were lackluster. Cheesecake and pecan pie were good, but nothing scrumptious. They were out of the port we wanted, but did give us another lesser port gratis. For the neighborhood, it's OK but as a steakhouse frequent flier -- there are many, many better options in NYC.

Pros: close to MSG

Cons: snobby service, mediocre steak

Overpriced and Overrated

by maria1234567123

Went to Uncle Jacks for Business Dinner. My two business associates order the NY Strip and Filet Minon. Both were very disapointed, especially the NY Strip. The side dishes were quite horrible. The Broccili Rob was burned and tasteless. I found this steak house to be very over priced for the quality of food. I have been to about 5 other steak houses in NYC and would not return to this one.

Pros: Service and Decor

Cons: Steak and the Cost

HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE

by simons_1

My Associates and I visited Uncle Jacks Steakhouse last week thinking we would find A NEW Steakhouse for our lunceons and dinners since our Corporate Office has mooved around the corner. Unfortunatellly that would NOT happen since this place is beyond horrific. The waiter was snobish and very arrogant and at the same time he made one of my Clients very uncomfortable at the way he was looking at him. The food was mediocre, crabcakes were good and so was the tuna tartar. my steak was overcooked and dry, and when i asked the waiter he said ill bring you another which arrived 30 minutes later and it was RAW.
Thanks to all this we will have to stick with the midtown Steakhouses...

Fillet was charred on the ouside-cold on the inside.

by mb555

Visited Saturday night; great atmosphere and service was excellent. Unique way of presenting the menu, however, I'd prefer to review the menu on my own, rather than have it dictated to me. I ordered the petite fillet ? disappointing. The steak was charred on the outside and cold on the inside. Our server never asked how our meal was. Other than the disappointing steak, there were no other complaints. Appetizers were excellent; wine list impressive.

Great Steakhouse

by mpk7

We went with another couple, and after reading the contradicting reviews, we weren't really sure what to expect. But our hotel concierge suggested Uncle Jack?s. I have to say that he was right on, when he said it was a great place and we would not be disappointed.
The restaurant itself is very nice. The staff was very friendly, and the food was incredible. My wife even said it was the best steak she ever had. The sides were just as good. I know you are thinking that anyone can make mashed potatoes, but trust me, they are phenomenal here. This is a high end steakhouse meaning you will pay more, but the steaks are huge, so it evens out. Don?t listen to any of the bad reviews. Prices are clearly marked up on the board, and again you are getting large portions of steak and sides. We will definitely go back when we are in town.

Pros: Everything

Cons: None

MUCH More $$$ Than Ancitipated

by Martrese

My mom was in town & I wanted to try Uncle Jack's since it's part of the bonus miles Rewards Network program. We DID have a very nice dinner here, but not at the price I paid.

The pros:
1) beautiful ambiance, more "romantic bistro" than "steakhouse;"
2) very attentive staff, almost too much so (repeated requests to take our order);
3) delicious wine & food, though my veal was much more tasty than mom's NY strip.

The cons:
1) verbal menu - I like to READ what's being offered and see prices;
2) most sides are a la carte - mine came with mash, but all others cost extra;
3) exorbitant prices:

I was amazed to find, upon being presented with our bill, that both entrees were $48 each. Again, mom's NY strip steak didn't come with anything other than the meat. Our two glasses of wine, two entrees and mom's side of asparagus came to $138. Thank god we didn't order appetizers or a BOTTLE of wine or dessert. Granted, we were satiated with what we ordered, but I don't think I've ever paid so much after being so conscientious about not over-ordering. If money isn't a concern, you'll probably have a very nice meal here.

Pros: Romantic atmosphere, attentive staff, very good food & wine

Cons: Extremely overpriced

great steak!!!!

by etherealprey

the steak there is amazing, the service is great too! The staff is friendly and always helpful. My water was always filled. But they are very formal and it seems that there are too many rules and spoons and forks there at times, but the food itself makes up for everything. A tad on the pricey stuff, the austrialian lobster tail is a must for seafood lovers. this lobster is all rail. great stake, the porterhouse for two is great! overall it's a great place, but you gotta have the $$$ to back it up.

Pros: great food, great service

Cons: pricey!

one word...AMAZING!!!!

by mleigh1987

My boyfriend and i were looking for somewhere special for our anniversary.... and we narrowed our choices down finally picking Uncle Jack's Steakhouse. And thank heavens we did. I could not have imagined a better restaurant and meal.
We arrived early for our reservation at 8:30, and it was pretty full at 7:45 (but was calm and less crowded later).....but the host took our coats, was very polite and attentive, and said that we could have a seat at the bar until our table was ready. We were at the bar for about 15 minutes (which was comfortable and nice), and they came to let us know our booth was ready. Someone seated us at a booth, pulling out the table completely so we could sit down. The booth was extremely cozy and comfortable...and as we sat they adjusted all our utensils and plates to how we were sitting. The lighting atmosphere in the restaurant was beautiful and romantic.
Our waiter came over soon and was incredibly friendly and informative. He recited the entire menu, with his own suggestions, and answering all our questions.
We decided on the Lump Crab Cakes to start, and then we both had the Filet Minon with Garlic Mashed Potatoes, and New York Cheesecake for dessert. The crab cakes were hearty and crispy on the outsides with a delicious sauce on the side, the steak was large and didn't need anything because it was so juicy and flavorful and the cheesecake was unexplainably good. We ate every morsel. We also had vodka and cranberry juice from the bar, which was made with exceptional vodka. it was 10 dollars...but at any other place...it would take me 3 to get the affects of one of theirs, and we also had champagne with dinner. I cannot explain how exceptional the entire meal was. Next time we want to try the lobster. it looks amazing when we saw another table receive it.

Pros: Every meal delicious, fantastic service, lovely ambiance

Cons: nothing

tourist trap

by foodfiendz

I had the unforunat experience of dining at Uncle Jacks last week. We were attending a Knicks game and wanted to dine near MSG. Man, does this place stink! It is a total tourist trap. A tuxedo wearing fool accosts you tableside. Sir, please buy a $200 steak and a $15 bottle of beer. No NO. you are not presented with a menu so they can jack your check up. The steaks were terrible, the ambience was worse and the service buffonish at best. Do yourself a favor and stay away.

Pros: none

Cons: everything

Avoid - tourist trap

by pnewman1

Went here for lunch recently. This is a tacky tourist trap, avoid this place like the plague. I've eaten at many steakhouses across NY, but this is poor. The ambience is nice, but the service is fake/OTT, and the food is just not good enough for the high prices. The lobster bisque was terrible for $20. Get the feeling they just don't care about you or the food.
Go to Frankie & Johinies instead - much better steaks and value.

Pros: Nice ambience/room

Cons: Prices too high/Service fake/Food poor

Tasty - but it's a tourist trap

by nomdepluum

Uncle jacks is a tourist trap (Oh! The waiter did not tell you that beers are $15 each? Sorry, he should have...) but it is not the worst such institution in New York and our ribeye, tuna tartar, creamed spinach and cosmopolitan-for-the-lady were all excellent. With those two $15 beers the bill was $148...thats $170 with tip. To be proper, the tab for this meal should have been $110-$120. But if you dont care about the 50% overcharge say, for example, that you are on a corporate expense account and need to be at the Javits Center or Madison Square Garden then the oddly-located Uncle Jacks is not so bad. The food is very good (except for the tasteless giant potato). The overall character of Uncle Jack's is not in keeping with its pricing. It's an anywhere-in-the-country sports bar (complete with TV screen) trying to be a fancy New York City steakhouse. There is no draft beer, only bottled (I was shocked). On one side of a wooden partition there is fine dining, but on the other side, by the bar, swarmed ten utter slobs in t-shirts. So, no dress code, right? Well, no: The heavily Queens-accented idiot who greeted us had the temerity to order me to remove my hat on entering. I was wearing a $2000 Ferre suit, and $375 Astrakhan hat: Shut up: I know how to remove my hat. One is shunted to the bar even if tables are available and one is on time for ones reservation: Classic trap behavior. Caesar is mis-spelled on the permanently-painted blackboard menu. The waiter blurted that he had never noticed this. The waiter was fun, but cartoonish. The "used car salesmen" description offered by another reviewer is perfect: Uncle Jack's is exactly like that. So: Would we go back? Yes: The food was great. But were rich, understanding, tough-as-nails New Yorkers. Are you?

Great... but pricey!

by cesa75

I love this place... we went on an off night so we got a table right away. From the host to the bartender to the captain and waitstaff the service was very proffesional but very comfortable, not stuffy. The food was delicious- I had the lobster and it melted in my mouth- and the presentation was flawless. The restaurant is romantic and airy and sitting in the booth makes you feel like you're the only ones there.

Of course all this great food and service comes with a pricetag- for the two of us with tip and no desserts or after dinner drinks we spent a cool 300.

btw, I'm FROM NY and I did not feel it was an "MSG/LIRR" crowd at all, in fact we even spotted a celebrity.

All in all, we will definatly be back. For special occasions of course!

Pros: Service, Private booths, Decor

Cons: Expensive

DO NOT ENTER

by jjmkoziol

I am SHOCKED this restaurant is rated 9.3. I have NEVER had such bad food. I tried the restaurant twice (I wasn't punished enough the first time) - the food was mediocre - and that's giving it a good rating. The second time there I had the surf and turf, and the portebello mushrooms as an appetizer.
Firstly, the mushrooms SEEPED of pure vinegar - so much so you could NOT eat them [and we didn't] - they were terrible. The lobster was tough and the steak [[requested medium rare and received very well done] wasn't much better. I DO NOT RECOMMEND anyone going here; McDonald's offers a better meal (ugh).

Pros: UNFORTUNATLEY THERE WERE NONE - OH, WAIT, IT WAS CLOSE TO MSG

Cons: EVRYTHING FROM FOOD TO VALUE

Had a wonderful Friday night dinner here with a group of five. After a short wait at the bar (which was very crowded), we were seated upstairs at a private table. Missed the spot...

by Godzuki24

Good to Great steak, not quite Peter L-worthy, but good nonetheless. The Kobe is ok, there is better to be had in the city (Kobe should NEVER be broiled). Service is admirable, but the noise in the house overpowers it. The look is nice, but again the noise overpowers it. Flatscreens at the bar make sense, but in the dining room? This screams MSG/LIRR crowd and is not something you need/want in an upscale NYC steakhouse. I guess you can take the Uncle Jack's out of Bayside, but you can't take the Bayside out of Uncle Jack's. For the price you pay whether personally or professionally, I just thought UJ's dropped the ball.

Pros: Good to Great Meat, Service tries Hard, Location

Cons: NOISY, TVs in dining room, Faux Hipster Crowd

what a ripoff

by steakheadz

Having recently moved into the garment district I was looking foward to finding a cool steakhouse to become a regular at. I thought Uncle Jacks might be the place. The ambience was old school cool, but that was the best thing. My girlfriend and I had the Porterhouse advertised at 48 oz, one it was not 48oz two I don't think it was all porterhouse. The sommeiler acted liked a used car sales person trying to make us buy super marked up wine. Overall a very unpleasent experience. We will not be back.

Over-rated!

by marcnyc

Uncle Jack has good reputation so we decided to give it a try for a business dinner. I have made better decisions. Service was pushy, pretentious, clueless, overbearing and our waiter definitely had an attitude. The seafood appetizers were average and the steak were average-to-good. The Kobe steak on the other hand was MUCH better and I'd recommend getting that over any other steak they serve. The atmosphere is ok but I've seen better... It's a little on the chaotic side, rather than calm and relaxed and it's easy to feel a little cramped. Obviously you end up spending over one houndred dollars per person, which is average for a steak house I guess... In the end I was disappointed with Uncle Jack's and I would recommend other steak houses (such as Dylan Prime) any time for better food, better service, better location and nicer dining environment.

Cons: expensive, pretentious, averag food

A must-go-to steakhouse for MSG events

by honduricannyc

It's hard to find a restaurant that offers exquisite ambiance, superb customer service and an excellent selection of surf and turf menu items. Uncle Jack not only delivers, he also does it before opening act at MSG.

From the moment you take your seat at the table, every member of the wait staff guarantees your every wish is granted. For our appetizer, our waiter recommended a mixed seafood dish. This excellent and fresh selection of seafood goodies took me back to my childhood days of growing up near the Atlantic Ocean. We proceeded with Uncle Jacks Porterhouse signature dish. With just one bite, the taste of this excellent cut of prime steak took me back to my visit in Brazil three years ago.

Overall, its good to know that a restaurant near MSG can offer such top notch service and fresh selection of surf and turf.

Pros: promptness, food, ambiance

Uncle Jack's is still my favorite...

by pseudon

Once you try the Cheeseburger with a cold glass of beer, you can't get that taste out of your head. One of those things that you will crave for every time you are hungry.

Many people doesn't even know about Uncle Jack's and it is out of the way, near the Lincoln Tunnel. But it is always worth the trip to enjoy a nice burger or a filet with a cold glass of beer or a good bottle of wine. Tuxedo dressed waiters are simply gentlemen and they do know how to serve with a smile.

I would recommend the Cheeseburger, Filet Wrap or the Seared Tuna. Special lunch menu offers dishes for a quick meal or a formal business lunch.

You may think the all those trendy steak houses are the place to enjoy a good meal but once you try Uncle Jack's you will decide for yourself.

Pros: Great Burger, Excellent Service, Elegant Ambience

Uncle Jack's Does Not Disappoint

by presley10

This Mid-town steak house is a good option for a great steak in Manhattan. The location is ideal for either theater or events at Madison square garden. The steaks are prepared with a classic "char" technique, locking in the flavor and moisture of their dry aged beef. Service was excellent from the hostess to the wait captain. At $40.00 a steak, they are very proud of their food, however the extra few dollars is worth spending for a memorable meal.

Go elsewhere! Bad service and mediocre food.

by annbeth

Went on Saturday night--the waiter was rude and condescending; and primarily interested in jacking up the check. The steak, highly touted, was just okay. Good enough, but for the same prices charged by top steakhouses in NYC, should be as good. It was not, by a long shot. Service was fourth rate. Location is awful. It's an interesting atmosphere, but not worth the trip. Paid $107 for a meal with no alcohol or dessert.

Cons: Terrible Service, Expensive, Mediocre Food

Amazing

by pharand3

We had a wonderful time.
Great atmosphere. Good jazz band playing in the background.
Our service was really and our servers really attentive.
We had oysters and shrimp cocktail as starters wich was really good. As our main course we both had surf and turf (cooked to perfection) with garlic mash, parmesan asparagus and garlic mushrooms. The portions were more then enough we could not finish our plates!
I only have good and amazing things to say about this restaurant. We will definitely will go back again.!

Pros: good portion, good service, good atmosphere

Decent, but Queens location better

by steakum

I've been going to the original Uncle Jack's in Bayside Queens and have tried the NYC location a few times. Each time, I wish I had gone to Bayside. The service and ambience are great (just like Queens), but the food didn't taste the same or as good as other steak houses in the city. The steak seemed too charred, the appetizers too salty. This location should learn the cooking methods of Bayside. Until then, I'll stick to Queens or other steak houses in NYC.

Pros: service, ambience

Cons: pricey, steak prep

Mixed Feelings

by bollan

Mixed feelings
4 of us recieved a very warm welcoming and world class service at the the bar! Were seated upstairs and a bald guy presented himself as our Captain. Man that guy could sell his mother if he wanted but that was the problem . He started saying the He was the menu and went off with a 10 !! minute rap about mostly ridicolously priced items that were NOT even on the menu. He was rapping Kobe Beef, Fresh Lobsters, Beluga Caviar, Dom Perignon like every guest was a P.Diddy or D.Trump. He just made us feel so totally unconfortable with his extremely pushy attitude. After 15 min he finally gave us the menu against his will. We ordered 4 Appetizers, 4 Entrees and 3 sides and still he asked if we wanted (a couple of chopped up Lobsters) with our Entrees to share ROFL!!!

Pros: Food, Ambience, Winelist

Cons: Service, Overpriced, Location

Great meal but hardly affordable

by ispeakadatruth

Service was excellent. Ambiance was intimate and cozy. Wine recommendations were fantastic. Steak and lobster was excellent and somewhat too plentiful. Dessert was outrageous. Sadly, the bill was excrutiatingly burdensome. This is a great place for very special occasion dining. I don't think it's possible to partake in a full course dinner at less than $150 pp. I find that overly pricey when comparing dining experiences among the best restaurants in NYC.

Pros: Excellent Service, Intimate Atmosphere, Delicious

Cons: Deceptively Expensive, Ambitious Portions

fantastic

by bermudascot

I went to Uncle Jacks last December(2004) and had a fantastic meal. The food, service and ambience were all great. The porterhouse for three was expertly cooked and far more than we could all eat and we did try really hard. Our captain Sean provided excellent service and kept our drinks topped up all night. It certainly isnt cheap(450 bucks for 3) but well worth it. I will definitely be back.

Pros: food, service

Cons: bit pricey

Eastern Queens to the big leagues

by murudeboy

The positive reviews for this place are on point. Great service, atmosphere, food... the only downfalls are the prices and the location (a bit out of the way on nineth avenue).

Things you may want to know: They have a ladies night Thursdays so damsels drink gratis from le bar. Thursdays are also Jazz nights when an ensemble sets up during the summer for everyone to enjoy. If you're a business person looking for a meeting spot, ask about their "library room" equipped with a flatscreen for presentations and a boardroom table all in a private room.
In my experience there, my roommate was in extascy when he tried thier cream of spinach. The "Oysters Jackafeller" are scrumptious as are the crabcakes. Their wine list could use some more by-the-glass items, and some lower end assistance, but ask the sommelier and he'll point you in the right direction.
Nice place.

Pros: service, variety in menu

Cons: limited wine list, location, price

I Won't be Back

by lindagee

I've been to great steakhouses all over the U.S.& this one rates at the bottom. The wait captain was condescending towards us.My husband and I had surf & turf for 2.The lobster tail was so tough I could barely chew it and didn't finish it.Every steak at our table was overcooked and dry.Even the side dishes were bad, steak fries were almost burnt and steamed broccoli was limp and soggy. Waitstaff was friendly, but had to flag them down for drink refills. Could have tracked them down at the beginning of this horrible meal but it was about 10:00pm, I was tired & wanted to leave. By the time the wait captain asked how the meal was we were almost finished. He was apologetic and brought us some free dessert samples.Big deal.Overall a very bad meal and bad experience that cost about $350 for 5 of us, a waste of money.

Pros: Nice decor, good wine

Cons: Too Expensive, Food was overcooked, Arrogant wait captain
