The New York outpost of this top-of-the-line hotel group is superbly located in a turn-of-the-century landmark Beaux Arts building on 5th Avenue, in the heart of midtown, in close proximity to cultural, shopping and business attractions. Exquisite trompe l'oeil graces the lobby. The Pen-Top Bar's spectacular views form one of the city's best backdrops for after-work cocktails during the spring and summer. Black leather banquettes, bay windows and antiqued velvet walls set the tone in restaurant Fives, which serves contemporary grub. As in many of the old New York hotels, the 242 rooms are fairly compact. You can enjoy silent in-room fax and a system that allows guests to use their personal cell phones as an extension of the room phones. This is the most outstanding Hotel and Spa I have ever been fortunate enough to visit. I travel all over the world and I received the GREATEST massage of my life from William. He was intuitive, warm and caring. He worked exactly the areas I mentioned as "troubled" and left me feeling healed! His massage was flawless.

This is a nice place if you're checking into Manhattan to see the sights or just staying out to enjoy the excitement of the big apple. I would recommend this place

The service is amazing, as they obviously pride themselves on making their customers happy. I have to say I'm used to my "space", and as pretty as the room was, I felt it was a bit small for what you pay for it, but I know that's the charm of NYC!

The room was beautiful, the service was fantastic, and the upper west side location is perfectly central for all your New York needs. The park is within walking distance, there is shopping everywhere you look and nothing is too difficult for the friendly staff. Wireless internet is free with the room, and the room service is above average. It's a bit ritzy - but perfect for wooing clientel or for a getaway splurge.

Best Roof Bar..... GREAT STAFF!!!

We were passing thru NYC and decided to go to the roof bar on the Peninsula on the recommendation of a local employee. The View was GREAT!!! the atmosphere was such an Oasis from NYC. It was so serene. The Host, Stefan, was quick to greet us and quickly sat us. Our waiter, Sal, was great with the drinks and checked in with us often. If you want an outdoor bar. Nothing beets the Peninsula in Mid-Town.

Just Wonderful

All hotels have flaws, no matter what the cost is, but when we arrived here after our trip to Paris, we felt that the service was better than that of The Four Seasons George V , which is said to be possibly the best hotel in the world. We did however only book a Superior room which was the entry level category, but it was very nice compared to other NY hotel rooms I have stayed in. The room service is very costly, but at $725 a night, who cares?? LOL..

Location is a pro and con. It's in Times Square so convenient ...
