I have been going to Shapers for over 10 years and I love the salon and staff! I receive many compliments on my hair and recommend them all the time - we are so lucky to have such professional, well-trained folks in New Paltz. After I discovered Shapers I stopped trekking to the city for my hair appointments.

I've been a Shapers' client for over 16 years. I've never known the staff to be anything but completely professional. I am sad to read the post below, particularly because the writer did not offer the owner the same dignified treatment that she thought the employee deserved. Clearly some things should be handled discreetly...and everyone has experienced a lapse in judgment.
I will continue to show my loyalty to Shapers, as I am completely convinced that there is no better service to be had in the Hudson Valley.

Awesome experience... Shapers is definitely the number one salon in the Hudson Valley! the staff is incredible, I initially started going to Shapers for my haircuts and one day decided to get a manicure and pedicure... Jessica is such a delight, she pays attention to detail, is extremely sanitary and truly enjoys what she does. I would recommend Shapers to everyone, not just for fantastic haircuts but for the BEST manicure and pedicure you'll ever have!

I originally went to Shapers to have them fix a botched haircut from another salon. They did such an incredible job that I haven't gone anywhere else since. When I moved from Manhattan to the country, my fear was that I would be unable to find a salon able to give a quality cut and color that I had become used to in Manhattan. Beth has been cutting and coloring my hair for a few years now, and she has proven to be better than anyone else who has ever done my hair. Beth has carte blanche and never disappoints!

I have been a loyal Shapers client for over 20 years. Owners Sean and Kelly and their entire staff work together to create an atmosphere that has become a haven for this full-time mother of two. The level of professionalism, knowledge, and artistic capabilities is nothing short of spectacular. Check out Shapers. You wont regret it.

I couldn't be happier with my experience at Shapers! I've been to MANY salons and have never left feeling completely satisfied until now. I have very curly, unruly hair and noone ever knows how to cut and style my hair...until now. So happy I decided to try this place!

I recently went to Shapers for the first time and let me just start off by saying they're awesome. I can't understand how the people who gave negative reviews could have went to the same place I went to.

I went there wanting to make a change with my hair but not being too sure about what I wanted and feeling a little nervous about doing something different but Kelly and the staff made me feel very welcome and at ease. I can tell that everyone there really cares about and enjoys what they do because the place had a very pleasant atmosphere. Kelly is such a nice, thoughtful person. Other than giving me a great hairstyle, she made me feel even better about the whole experience by asking if I wanted to donate the hair she was going to cut off to Locks of Love. Something that I never thought about but am very glad I did.

I can't say enough how happy I am with the haircut I received. I got tons of complements from people at work and I work in Technology Support so getting the bunch of guys I work with to make a big deal about hair is something. There's no doubt in my mind that I'm going to go back to Shapers again.

I went to shapers for a hair cut on November 11th. I was given a 2:30 appt. When I got there, I was made to wait for about 10 minutes, and then got washed and sent up to get my hair cut. I think the woman who cut my hair was named Debbie or Danielle. Anyway, after I told her the hair cut I wanted, she ignored my request and proceeded to cut my hair exactly like hers (and the client before me), told me they close at 3 PM, didn't offer to blow dry my hair, and then put some gunky product in my hair which means I had to wash it again right away. And I had to pay $33 for a Jennifer Aniston hair cut from five years ago. All in all, it was a bad experience and I won't go back. If they close at 3, they shouldn't be giving out appointments for 2:30 and what a bad haircut.

PROS: The trees outside are pretty with the christmas lights.
CONS: Oh so many. Read the review.
