Very Unhappy and will NEVER go back. I did pick this kennel because we tried it about 5 years ago and did have good service plus we live close. I dropped my two dogs off and when we picked them up we were talked to very disrespectfully. The owner was grouchy as if we just woke him up. I think it's time to retire.

This is my second and last time with this place. First off my dogs were there one night, but I was charged for two. Okay fine....
The owner could'nt find the cards that I filled out with emergency contact, feeding info. etc.
I get my four dogs home and they drank water for five minutes strait, which is not normal for my 10 Lb. dogs..
I then unpack their bags to see that not only was the wet food for dinner still there, but the two cups of dry food is all still in the bag as well.....WTF!
What was the reason for this???
I would NOT reccomend this place to anyone, oh and I am also canceling the check as well. My dogs would have been better off at home all by themselves!
I had to give them one star to post this otherwise there would be none!

I too was surprised at the negative review I just read. My husband and I have been boarding our German Shepherds at Burnt Hills Boarding Kennel for several years, the service is top notch and our dogs are extremely well cared for when we travel! Our oldest dog can be a handful at times, but since the owners are very well versed in dog handling they have no problem with him. I recommend Burnt Hills Boarding Kennel to anyone who needs to leave their dog when they travel! BTW, the fact that they don't accept debit cards is NOT an inconvenience - one should always be prepared with cash.

I was very surprised to read the other reviews of this kennel. I am in the Military and returned from overseas with my cats and dog. They were very accommodating in ensuring my animals were well cared for. The cat cages are comfortable, multi-level for climbing. This couple was very friendly and flexible. I recommend to anyone to board with them. It felt like leaving my animals with family. I will board with them again.

We recently moved down the street from this kennel, and thought we'd try leaving our two dogs here while we went out of town for a long weekend as they were less expensive, and a more convenient location than our usual kennel. The owners were less than friendly and when we came to pick up our dogs, we were told they would "try them" one more time as one of them barked too much. He is a dog. Dogs bark. If you don't like dogs in all their personalities, then why would you run a kennel? We had already made a reservation for a week in July, I am sure that motivated the "trying them one more time" comment, it's hard to pass up a week's worth of boarding money for two dogs.

When we went to pay for their stay with a debit card, we were told they don't accept credit/debit cards. Luckily, I had my checkbook with me as well, or they would have been subjected to more "barking" while I ran to the ATM machine! There is no notice in sight anywhere that they accept only cash or checks.

We will not be leaving our dogs there ever again. We will not recommend them to our many friends in the area who also have lively, delightful dogs. Use Pinebush Kennels in Colonie instead...they are our usual kennel and they treat our dogs wonderfully and clearly love animals as these people do not. We just reserved the week in July with them. They are still moderately priced but the service is much better.
