I am so glad I tried out sushi a go go before I caught a show at Lincoln Center. My friends and I let the waitress know we had a 8pm curtain and she was great with timing everything. The sushi was fresh and filling and reasonably priced, especially for that area. I wasn't in love with the somewhat stale decor, but the service and food made up for the lack of ambiance. I will definitely be back.

Pros: great service, delicious sushi

Cons: little cafeteria-like

This is the first place I had sushi! I was always scared/grossed out by raw fish lol. But now I'm hooked! This place is awesome. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The pricing is very reasonable and the atmosphere is very welcoming. Its a great place to hang out with friends. Cocktail: Lemongrass Mojito... awesome!

This little gem nestled on the Upper Wet Side, holds a special place in my heart. It is where I proposed to my second wife after a night of swing dancing on the promenade at Lincoln Center. Over the years we have enjoyed a lovely menu that infuses american concepts with Japanese culture. Recently we returned to the city after a long trip to Bora Bora and we were delighted to see that our favorite restaurant was still as wonderful as we had remembered. The diverse staff has always made us feel most welcome. Thanks for the memories!

I love this place to hang out and savor great sushi at reasonable prices. The fish is super fresh, and the selection is fine. In addition they have a nice selection of sake and a really nice wine list. I also lobe their ramen noodles, big bowl full of spicy beef and noodles, really really good. Service is warm and friendly, and the music is great. Great place to meet people. In the summer they have a terrific outdoor cafe. See you there!

with so many buisness's suffering from a bad economy, it is refreshing to dine at this little jewel of a sushi bar. I have dined here for years, and it continues to improve all the time. They have some how avoided to raise their pirces, and that has translated into a full restuarnt on a snowy, cold weekend day!!
One point of interest, it is not the price that I love, the food is great, the sushi is super fresh, and the place is freindly and hot.
The spicy edamame is like no other I have ever had, very addictive. You can wash it down with one of their great drinks, like coconut sangria.
Love the ramen dishes, huge bowls full of ramen noodles, the beef version is full of thin slices of beef in spicy rich broth. The udon noodles are out of this world, coming in a huge earthenware vessel, steaming with thick noodles, chicken meat, vegetables and an egg.
The desserts are not the typical Japanese desserts, more French, but non the less great.

I have enjoyed this small "sunny" sushi bar for years. It always pleases. Sushi a Go-Go is always busy, the sushi is always fresh and delicious. They also are constantly adding new dishes; dont miss the spicy edemame, finger licking good!
The have a small selection of ramen, the spicy beef ramen is as advertised, spicy. but it is also very good, and it is served in a huge bowl for under 10 dollars, great deal considering it is Lincoln Center.
They have a nice selection of wines, and sakes. I really enjoy this place, and in the summer the outdoor cafe is the place to be.

This little jewel of a sushi bar has been opened for years. It has continued to improve and stay fresh. They always are adding new dishes that have become new favorites. They have a selection of ramen that are served in huge bowls filled with steaming broth, noodles, vegetables and weither fish, meat or vegetarian, just plain good. The sushi is always fresh and the menu prices are very fair. Love the selection of sakes, and house flavored sake. Staff is very warm and accomodating. In the summer the outdoor cafe is a wonderful place to hang out in.

Pros: Sushi, Ramen, Sake List

Cons: Doesn't take reservations

.

If you are going to a show at Lincoln Center, A Go-Go is right across the street. This unimpressive looking store-front type sushi restaurant often has lines half a block long - they do not take reservations. As long as you are with a friend, the wait is worth it. What they lack in atmosphere, they make up with freshness - you have to wonder if they have a fishing dock out back. The sushi is THAT good! Highly recommended, if a bit cramped in seating, well worth it for a true sushi lover.

Food - Absolutely wonderful. Sushi a-go-go?s style is to use the finest ingredients and combine them in incredibly creative ways. With so many courses and each one of them exceptional it is hard to pick a favorite but the white tuna tataki is a good place to start - perhaps followed by the salmon don. The presentation was also top notch. Everything placed just right and perfect.

One of my favorites sushi restaurantes in Manhattan, the best spicy tuna roll and the numbre one quality "hamachi"... but ,despite this, I will never come back if one of its waitres , a nasty blond girl named "Holly" remains serving tables there. Avoid her!
It is a pitty that people that this Holly can ruin the reputation of a such a good restaurant!
Please kick her out!!!

I love Sushi a Go-Go, it is fun, hot, and very fairly priced. The sushi is extremely fresh and delicious. I frequent the place and was shocked to realize the other evening that the owner is a chef that I use to love on food network. I use to love his show and then he disappeared. He was so much fun, and hot too!! He is about to open another restaurant a few blocks away; a Jewish style deli. Cant wait!!!! Meantime, don't miss this wonderful place.

I have been to may sushi restaurants and often order steamed edamame, always good, but this time at Sushi a Go-Go, I ordered Spicy Edamame. I eat out often, this has to be the best new dish I have eaten all year. Quite simple, not overly spicy with a citrus overtone.....great!!! The sushi was delicious and very fresh. I also had a vegetarian ramen, it came in a big bowl, streaming and full of delicious vegetables. The prices are inexpensive, the place is fun, and best of all, they deliver. Love it.....dont miss the edamame!!!

I took my friend here for her birthday and it was great sushi for a really affordable price. I would definately go again. In fact, I ordered Sushi a-go-go to be delivered to my house over this past weekend and it arrived in no time! Also, my favorite dish is the avocado salad and spicy edamame!!

Decided to spend this past Friday at Sushi a Go-Go. Place is super cool, cool music, great sushi and the crowd was amazing. We had edamame, they were great, spicy and addictive. My friend embassassed us by ordering a burger, but wow, it was great. We had amazing sushi, and ended up meeting some amazing girls, great place for a hot, hot Friday night.

This small sushi place is just yummy!!! I have never seen "spicy edamame" before, they are intoxicating. What's better than enjoying their house flavored fruit sake, outside in their outdoor cafe, while enjoying these delicious beans. Don't miss the rest of the menu, the ramen is great, and I enjoy this steaming bowls of noodles, even during the summer. The sushi is very fresh and inventive, don't miss the salmon roll with sundried tomato and roasted garlic oil. All this and they deliver too!!! It is just soooo....good!

It is so rare to find a restaurant that after so many years, just continues to get better. The service is very good, warm and friendly. The sushi has always been very good, and very fresh. To my surpirse they have lately added so many new dishes, making it always fun to go. The "spicy edamame" is amazing, and like no other I have ever had. The other evening I brought friends, one friend didn't eat sushi, so he had a burger they had on the menu, Wow! Great! All this, and a wonderful outdoor cafe where you can sit outside, overlooking Lincoln Center. Doesn't get much better.

I have frequented this cute restaurant many times, and it continues to strive to be better all the time. The sushi is always super fresh and delicious, and lately they have added alot of new great dishes, such as a selection of ramen noodles. Just the other day I was surpised to find a burger, not the usual fare in a sushi bar, big, juicy, delicious with sauteed onions, mushrooms and a wonderful ginger teriyaki sauce, and all for under ten bucks! This place is always busy, and there is good reason for that!

The sushi is in fact good, though there are better places in Manhattan, with more variety of rolls and much more affordable. The saki, though, is not only good, but pretty cheap. You can seat at the restaurant and look at people going to Lincoln Center, but it's hard to get a seat before theater.

I always loved Sushi a Go-Go, but thought of it as mostly sushi. This place has morphed into one of the best restaurants in the area. The past evening I dined in their outdoor cafe, what a setting, in the shadows of Lincoln Center. We began with a great chilled sake that our server recommended, a great choice. We then had a dish that they call "spicy edamame", this is opne of the best dishes I have had in recent memory. Very simple, with a spicy, but not overly spicy, with a citurs overtone, you can not stop eating them!
We then had a dish called a "softshell crab BLT", wow! This is the perfect summer dish. We also had some sushi that was impecable. I always enjoyed this place, but now I have fallen in love with it!

When you first enter the small, cool sushi bar, you are quick to find out how much this tiny palce has to offer. First and foremost, the sushi is impecable, fresh and inventive. I just love the salmon roll with sundried tomato and Hawaiian sea salt. The food from the kitchen is also amazing. They just added ramen to the menu, and don't miss the "spicy calamari ramen", not the normal combination, but wow!! Super delicious and spicy enough to make you order another of their wonder, and fun drinks. The service is very efficient and super friendly. They have a outdoor cafe in the summer, nothing better than great food, sitting outdoors in the shadows of Linclon Center....doesnt get any better.

How often do you see a restaurant just get better as years pass, well here she is! I say she, because it is sensual, great looking and just plain super. I always marvel how they keep adding dishes regularly that are just delicious. The other night I was there with my "posse", and was surpirsed to find a "beef ramen noodle dish", wow!!! Spicy and delicious. I had crab cakes that were totally amazing. What else can I say......My Favvvv!

I have been frequented this small jewel for a while. The amazing thing is that it continues to improve, and never disappoints. The other night, I began the meal with a melon-apple flavored sake. I then had a great salmon roll with sundried tomato and sea salt. My guest ordered a dish they called "shrimp bibimbop", it was sooo good. The place is always busy, but the service is always firendly and great, in fact at the end of the meal, they sent small tastes of some new flavored sake to all the guests. It is so rare to see a restaurantt that shows such care for the diners, so special.

I am an avid NYC restaurant customer. I have found that the "norm" for a restaurant after a few years in buisness is witness the quality erode. What has happened at my favorite restaurant; Sushi a Go-Go is the exact opposite. This restaurant just continues to improve. The sushi is fantastic, the employees are just soooo friendly. It feels like coming home whenever I arrive. Whenever I can"t make it, I call for delievery...and am never disappointed. What else can you ask from a restaurant, this is just my favorite!!!!

I normally do not write reviews, but felt that I had to share my opinion on this place. A friend had given me a last-minute ticket to see Xanadu and I passed this place on my down from the Upper West Side.

I had heard of this place, but had never stopped in. The food was reasonably priced, but AMAZING taste! The special rolls were great, as were the regular rolls. The Staff was great, and I was fortunate to have Miles direct me to some favorites on the menu-- he was right on!! And what a great attitude he had-- made me feel right at home!

I also liked the decor, the music, and the great vibe. It would be a great date place!! Check it out- you won't regret it!

I had a show at Lincoln Center and didnt have a reservations arranged. I check out this sushi bar, the welcome I received was so warm. I was told I would have a table in ten minutes. They accomodated me in seven. The staff is very good looking and professional. They recommended a special roll with "sundried tomato, avocado and Hawaiian red sea salt." Outstanding!!! A cinnamon sangria was intoxicating, and so was the waitress. To all my friends, you can now find me at Sushi a GoGo

The sushi was great and not overpriced. The music was great, and at the end of the meal, I was offered complimentary "shots" of something they call a cinnamon sangria. What can I say...Great looking people...Great Sushi....A Great Time!!!

Pros: Great Sushi, Great Looking Service Staff

Cons: None

This past Saturday was the coldest of the season. I had reservations at Fiorellos, after a 50 minutes wait, and a host who was quite rude, I decided to take my chance else where. Right next door was Sushi a Go-Go. They were very busy also, but what a warm welcome they gave me. I was told that they would have a table for me shortly, and so they did. I started with a Coconut Sake Sangria, quite dangerous and addictive. The sushi was great, service was friendly and warm. A desert called a "chocolate mojo" got me in the mood.......and so I find myself raving about this jewel to you!

Had reservation at a restaurant nextdoor to Sushi a Go-Go. After being mistreated at the door for my reservation, I stuck my head in the door of Sushi and was warmly welcomed. The sushi was fresh and great. The place had a great vibe and the drinks, especially a coconut sangria was outragous!!!! Place is crowded, but there is a definite reason for it. A MUST.

II was preparing my Thanksgiving turkey, and tuned into GoodDay Ny on Fox5 to get a few tips for my meal. The owner of Sushi a Go-Go was giving the viewer some advise. I decided to try the restaurant. It was great, the sushi was very, very fresh, reasonably priced, and the atosphere was great. The place is small and crowded, but soooo much fun! I especially love their drinks. I definitely have made this one of my favorites. I was only disappointed not to meet the owner. Maybe next time. It was great!

I live around Lincoln Center, and Sushi A Go-Go is one of the best places to get sushi! It's fresh, and the service is great! At some points I feel as if the lighting might be a bit bright for my liking, but that's the only downfall! I especially like that they use brown rice for their sushi too! Everyone is friendly, no faults here!

I was attracted to this sushi bar when I saw the owner on GoodDay NY. He was soooo....cute, that I had to go. I was disappointed that he wasn't working that evening, but I was with my boyfriend and I guess it was for the best. The sushi was great, the manager was great, he recommended a sake that I that was sooo....good! The music made me want to just dance. It is a must, without the hefty tab. Loved it!

I was watching Tony Danza and saw one of the most entertaining chefs I have ever saw cook on the show. He has a restaurant across from Lincoln Center, so I made my way this past Saturday, and was extremely disappointed that he was not there that evening. The waitress was so helpful and accomodating. The sake list was small, but good. The sushi was excellent, fresh and wonderful. I had a great time, and the waitress assured me that he would be there the next time. He was soooo cute, I will definitely be back.

I saw the owner of this restaurant on the Fox5 morning show. He was so entertaining that I made a point to goinng there that evening. Unfortunately he was not there, but the restaurant was terrific. The sushi was very fresh, the accomodated my guest special request, in fact they even offered some selections with brown rice. Although cold that evening, I was pleased to see a wonderful outdoor cafe, which I hope to frequent when it becomes warmer. I definitely recommend this wonderful Japanese restaurant. One word of surprise, that owner I saw on Fox, is definitely not Asian, but don't let that delay you from trying.

I had frequented this establishment two years ago whne going to Lincoln Center. It was disappointing. I have recently retuned three times, and it has been fabulous. The sushi is extremely fresh, very reasonable, and the place is alot of fun. It can be crowded, but it is great for people watching. It has a great outdoor cafe, and I love their drinks. I eat alot of sushi, some compare with the quality, but I am hard pressed to find one that is as much funa dn reasonable.

Wow, what great fun I had the other evening. This restaurant has such a whimsical decor and terrific music. I am in my mid 50's and this was MY music. What was even better, the food! The sushi was unpretentious, very fresh and also great fun. I was even amused to find out that the restaurant was owned by a renowned Italian-American Chef....the fun just doesn't stop. Only draw back that I found was that they don't accept reservations, although I am always seated promptly.

I must of passed by this little "jewel" a dozen times. Hidden away in Lincoln Center is a great sushi bar. The sushi was great, really fun decor, very friendly service, groovy 60's music and terrific value. There are others with similar names, but only on Sushi a Go-Go

My friends and I recently had a great time at Sushi A Go Go. This is not typical sushi -- even though I like typical sushi just fine. The food at Sushi A Go Go is wonderful. The chef has a varied menu and it is ALL good. You won't find this anywhere else. I especially recommend the rolls. The service is prompt and courteous, and the check won't bankrupt you.

I've been a regular customer of Sushi-A-GoGo for a few years. The food has it's own twist and I appreciate it. If you're open minded about the term "sushi" then you'll love it.

The disturbing thing - tonight I watched as the manager of the restaurant scolded one of his waitresses in front of all of the customers in such a harsh way to the point that the poor girl was in tears. I've seen this manager treat people badly before and is very stoic to customers, but this was bad. I think that is a major reason why I always feel a weird energy there, which makes it a weird dining experience. I really love the food. The crispy lobster roll with mango sauce is just right. I'm going delivery. That manager has a major problem and I don't think I want to be around a guy like that.

We went to Sushi a Go Go with 40 minutes to spare before our show started. (We made it to our show with time to spare.) There was a line to get in, but it moved fast. We were seated pretty quickly and the service was great, as was the sushi, which we found to be very fresh. The california rolls in particular were great, not your typical recipe. The '60's decor is adorable. We will definitely go back again.

If you want sushi and you are on the upper west side, don't even waste your time trying this place. There was hardly any fish in my roll and on top of having no fish, it wasn't rolled correctly. The prices are absurd for the quality.
As far as service goes, the waiter was fine but the waterboy spilled water all over my boyfriend's leather jacket and all over a girl's Louis Vuitton bag. The management didn't offer to comp either of our bills.
All in all, this experience was negative and we will never go back! Try Ivy's on west 72nd or Planet Sushi on Amsterdam

My husband and I go regularly to Sushi a go-go and we've taken friends from out of town and have always had a wonderful time. The sushi is just superb. The space is small, but the mod decor really perks it up. This is great food. nuff said

Incredibly over-priced menu. The service was good, even though the place was packed within 15 minutes of my arrival. The food is great but cost twice as much as any normal Japanese resturant. If you want to eat at the trendiest sushi place with the cutest waitstaff, this is the place. Other wise save your money and go to a Japanese restuatrant down the street
