Rodizio originated in the south of Brazil. The concept is to serve a wide variety of different cuts of meat, in succession to each diner individually, right at their table, thus there is not a traditional menu. The restaurant features a fixed-price continuous tableside service. The first thing anyone notices about Churrascaria Tribeca is the festive atmosphere. A large lofty space, leatherette chairs and brick walls punctuated by mahogany capitals, Churrascaria Tribeca is a haven for meat lovers. Churrascaria Tribeca has worked continuously in developing a wine list to match our unique cuisine, a wine selection of depth, breath and diversity. With over 700 selections, our wine list is sure to please. Reserve now for our Festa Junina on July 17th- Traditional Brazilian Folksytle party- special menu, live band and more.

If you haven't had the joy of riodizio, you must give this place a try. We came here for a birthday party. The food was delicious. Various varieties of tender moist meats are grilled and seasoned to perfection. They are brought to you continuously until you say stop. They are accompanied by salad rice, beans, potatoes and plantains. Great food how could this party go wrong. Just the concept alone made this party enjoyable. It can be pricey at around $50 a person, but it is an experience not to be missed.

This place is great, but make sure you go hungry, very hungry!!! You start off with a buffet of sushi, risoto, salads and much more. Then your meal begins... Meat, all kinds passed around on metal skewers, cut right onto your plate. You eat as much as you can and the food just keeps on coming.
We loved it so much, we can't wait to go back!

Disappointed.....
by ellij
I was excited when my boss told me that we would have our office XMAS dinner there. The space is huge and the decor is great. The staff was confused and not very friendly. The salad bar is small in size and lacks variety. The side dishes were good but the meats were dry and most of them were wrapped in bacon which put me off. The desserts were dry as well. Was very disappointed.
Pros: Salad bar, clean and spacious
Cons: Very expensive, meats are dry

the best word to describe Churrascaria Riodizio Tribeca
is decadent. its so unbelievably rich and delicious and expensive that its perfect for the right occasion, such as congratulating a worthwhile accomplishment, celebrating an anniversary, or simply to ensure a truly memorable experience with whomever is joining you. its impossible to not have a wonderful dining experience

Cozy Place..
by ggunn
This is a great restaurant. Definitely the kind of swanky place you'd take someone you want to impress. Their steaks are cooked just the way you want them to be. They have good wines, especially reds. And they have a chocolate mousse dessert that is just oooh-la-la!! Excellent customer service. Excellent service.I recommend this place.

Oustanding, Best Place in town..
by matt08
I have been In Rio many times , and never occured to me to find a rodizio place here in the city as the ones that I have been in Rio de Janeiro, I travel a lot for business, and my wife told me that close to our house that was a rodizio place, I went with a couple of friends and I fell like I was in Rio, perfect atmosphere, food was outstanding, and a great service, I feel like I was in one of my trips to Rio.

Unaccommedating Service Ruined the Whole Experience
by gooselicious
Please keep in mind I went there a year ago with a large group of people to celebrate two birthdays. A series of miscommunication between our party and our server resulted in an over inflated bill that they refused to correct. Basically we originally ordered the regular meat only prix fix and wanted to change to include coffee and desert prix fix. The server didn't get that and charged us for every desert and coffee we ordered individually. Needless to say our bill came out to be a lot more than budgeted. Yes, it may be our fault for not being clear about which prix fix we were getting, but I really believe they should be able to retroactively fix the bill. This whole dispute with the bill really left a bad taste in my mouth.
Pros: Good space for large group of people
Cons: Be very clear and careful about what you are ordering

Amazing BBQ
by MarkStevens84101
After having lived in Brazil I was looking for someplace that would quench my thirst for authentic red meat. This place was very clean and I was very pleased that I could find my churrrasco in such a clean place. I was very pleased with the way i was treated and the great variety of the menu. I felt like I was in brazil again. Viva Rio De Janeiro! :-)
Pros: Churrasco
Cons: A little bit loud

okay - midtown is much better
by nycsearcher99
first time at the tribeca location after eating several times at the mid-town location.
if the mid-town location is a 9.75 in my opinion. only bad thing in mid-town is that they rush you. the tribeca location gets an 8 out of 10.
the salad bar does not compare. i usually have about 4 servings at the salad bar at mid-town. the sushi did not taste fresh and was limited in choices.
the meat was fine not FANTASTIC. i didnt go WOW i have to have another round of whatever meat i decided to have. the pig was a disappointment. the first round of lamb was okay until i got a second helping from a new slab of lamb. it was good, but not GREAT. actually tried the beef ribs for the first time and it was pretty good (both on a slab and the table version)
service was fantastic and i was ABSOLUTELY not rushed unlike the mid-town location where the servers get rude and ususally asked, "what do you want or what are you looking for?" after saying no a couple of times when they bring meat over.
all in all this location does not come close to the mid-town. not worth the $70.00 per person. go to the mid-town location and you will get your money's worth.
Pros: service, meat
Cons: not worth the money spent, salad bar

If your looking to get stuffed with yummy food come here. The service was great and very prompt. The ambience was very nice and we had a great evening. The dessert truck will make your eyes dance, make sure you save some room.
Pros: Steak, service and ambience
Cons: You get stuffed too quick :)

Big, loud, and tres suburban
by sjnorth
I live in Tribeca, so it seemed pretty convenient when a big group of us went here for my boyfriend's birthday. Unfortunately, I was underwhelmed. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of food, and most of it was good, but it's extremely expensive, and the vibe is very suburban. Seriously, I felt like I was at some kind of buffet at a suburban restaurant chain. That problem is definitely exascerbated by the profileration of tourists. I would not go back here again, at least not by personal choice. There is too much excellent food, especially in Tribeca, served in a nicer environment.
Pros: Amount of food
Cons: Expensive, rude hostesses, suburban ambience

Outrageous Experience!
by tra8901
Words cannot describe how delicious the food is at this restaurant. My first expereince at this type of restaurant was incredible. Once seated you are given a red and green disc. When you are ready to eat you flip your disc to green. Each waiter comes to your table with a different type of meat on a huge skewer offering all-you-can eat (and cooked perfectly I might add). There are also delicious sides brought to your table including but not limited to carmelized fried bananas, broccoli, potatoes and the most delicious bread I've ever tasted. When you are feeling full or want a small break you flip your disc to red and the waiters stop bringing food to your table (until your ready for more, and flip your disc back to green). The salad bar offers a large selection of greens, fish, sushi, cheeses, risotto and vegetables. They serve sangria in red or white (I loved the white!). This was the most delicious sangria I've ever tasted!!! This restaurant was one of the most fun and delicious dining experiences I've ever had. Great place to start out a Bachelor/Bachelorette party, or just an interesting and fun night out with friends--(or business associates/clients)...I'm already planning my next visit to Churrascaria Riodizio...
Pros: Wonderful concept, delicious food
Cons: Finding parking in Manhattan

This is the real deal: authentich Brazilian rodizio
by leotoni
Churrascaria Tribeca is the first spot that comes to mind when I feel a little home sick. It has an authentic Brazilian rodizio, with quality well prepared beef cuts, a salad buffet that will please even my vegan wife, and extremely attentive service. There is promotional pricing for brunch on Sundays, so you can enjoy the Brazilian tradition of a rich meal and a lazy Sunday afternoon for a lot less. The last time I went there, we even bumped into Steven Tyler! Reservations are probably advisable for dinner, but brunch is usually calm enough to just stop by.
Pros: This is the authentic Brazilian experience
Cons: It does not come cheap, though

This was my third visit to Churrascaria Riodizo Tribeca and as always my guests and i had a great time. Excellent food, great atmosphere with live music and very attentive service. It is a little expensive but worth every penny.

Nice place, descent food, Service not what expected
by thereason
I would not recomment just because of the service. Food was pretty good. The buffet style appetizer didnt have many options as i expected. Service was way below average. It took them no lie around 20 min to get the plates that we already finsihed as we were waiting on desserts. Just overall not tentative, except those bringing the meat around. I didnt even have my own waiter so I didnt know who to ask for help. If you plan on making an impression on someone dont take them here. Spent just over 200 and definetely not worth the money. Go to Churascaria Platforma arounf midtown which I would recomend same style, much friendlier and more tentative service, and i think a little cheaper.
Pros: steak
Cons: service

Go during the lunch hour so it's less expensive
by mandykoala
My mom threw my dad a surprise 60th birthday saturday brunch there. It was awesome. Food was great, service was good. And it is on the pricey side so go during lunch hours. And it's best to go with a BIG group. The down side: lunch buffet does not sushi or sashimi

you pay for what you get
by rdragont5
yes, it is very expensive, but it is for a reason! unlike many buffets, churrascaria tribeca leaves you full. the meat is great, tho there were some i disliked, the different meats came by so often i was able to get the ones i liked! recommend going with a credit card, and an empty stomach!
Pros: great food and service
Cons: $$$$$

authentic and delicious
by smithlee
The meats are delicious, the buffet fresh. But make no mistake -- churrascarias are all about meat. Plataforma offers almost all the varieties you'd find in Brazil. The previous complaint that the meats are too salty is way off base -- that's how meats are seasoned in Brazil. It's authentic! Of course the prices are drastically higher, but that's New York for you. The decor is beautiful, but I'm knocking points off for ambience for the clientele. They're almost entirely bankers, and overwhelmingly male. We were surrounded by large tables of these guys, boasting of their conquests, and they were so loud it often required extra effort to carry on a conversation over them. Plataforma is genuinely Brazilian, but the crowds of striped ties make it impossible to forget you're only a short ride from Wall Street. I'll definitely return, but next time I'll try their midtown location.
Pros: authentic, delicious, picanha!
Cons: wall street clientele

A Wonderful Splurge
by creativelolita
My boyfriend and I disliked the midtown location (so UES Banker) and then hit the one in Tribeca (very sexy, very loungy)--it is now the place we go to celebrate any special occasion.
Yes, it is expenisve--VERY expensive. Dinner with 4 drinks and tip will cost you close to 200.00. However, if you are going out and willing to spend it, this is a surefire hit. The meats are great, the sides are phenomenal and the salad bar has everything from excellent sushi to wonderfully poached fish and yummy shrimp cocktail.
Pros: Excellent food, Great staff, Romantic Yet fun
Cons: Very Expensive

Quantity not quality
by tgreene73
Ok so went here with a group of 10 or so guys for a Bachelor party and had a great time -service was good, they had a nice salad bar that had a good variety of items including a few very nice fish salads(seafood, squid etc) as well as decent sushi and a variety of Brazilian dishes-so i was impressed right off the bat so then we sit down flip our cards to green and let the games begin -the meats-thats why one comes no??thats where the disappointment occured everything was overcooked and oversalted. The service was great the people were beautiful even saw a random celeb but the whole point of the trip was the meat and that was a total disappointment-saved by the "salad bar"
Pros: pretty staff, attentive staff, pretty surroundings
Cons: overcooked , oversalted, almost theme parklike

Great meat and staff!
by bkspice
I did not like the one in mid-town (food was good but staff was stiff and rude) but this one is awesome. I'm actually going here tonight with my fiance and my future in-laws. I took my fiance here once, and he fell in love! So he suggested that when his parents come in town to visit, we have to introduce them to churrascaria. Seems like churrascaria isn't that popular in NYC unlike LA and I've been looking for a good place. Although it's a bit pricy, I think it's all worth it. Don't forget to have pao de queijo (cheese bread, small and round) and top it off with refreshing guarana drink.

Better than Midtown
by taffyhogue
This is definitely the better of the two. We've been to Midtown several times, but keep returning to TriBeCa. With just two visits, they remembered our faces and names, what meats we did and didn't like, which side we prefer and if we prefer well done or rare. We always take guests, and the servers and manager always make it a point to stop by, greet myself, my fiance and our guests by name. Midtown is far more rushed and far less personable.
Pros: large food selection, attentive staff, quieter atmosphere
Cons: not as flashy, a bit out of the way

I wish NYC had fogo de chao

While NYC does not have a Fogo de Chao this place will do well. The value and service were poor for the money.

Not Cheap

Food is average served with a little showmanship. Watch out for extremly high alcohol prices and deserts are a huge additional charge.

Fabulous - for meat eaters!
by cl_foodie
This place is so good. They marinate the meat for hours and it just keeps coming out. You've got everything - pork, beef, chicken, sausage, lamb, etc.
They've also got a huge salad/sushi/appetizer bar that you won't even get to if you're eating the meat.
Posted 03/21/05
Great place for those carb restricted dieters!
by veronica3114511
The meats are amazing and never ending choices! Great buffet bar. I do not recommend this place to be good for a romantic dinner because the waiters and waitresses are so hot, you can't take your eyes off of them. When your there ask for Raphael and you will understand!
Pros: Worth the price, Great service, Great for groups

Quieter, But Less Impressive
by david_a_hahn
My girlfriend and I are big fans of Plataforma's midtown location, and thought we'd give their new site a try.
The atmosphere downtown is sleeker, quieter, more relaxed...good for one-on-one conversation with a friend or date.
Unfortunately, the salad bar is smaller than the one midtown, and the meat servers don't seem to visit your table as frequently. I suspect that, with less traffic than the midtown location, the Broadway spot needs to watch its profit margins more closely and can't afford to "give away" food.
Bottom line? Tribeca offers the more relaxing experience, midtown the more stomach satisfying one.
Pros: Atmosphere, Quality of food
