The owner of this company damaged my wife's vehicle and a neighbor seen him and his workers do it.they slammed a dresser and knocked it into my wife's car causing a lot of damage.the day after it happened a neighbor who saw my wife having words with tenant moving out came out and said she witnessed whole thing.I called him first he started to admit to it until i told him the price it was aprox going to cost then he decided to say no no no he didn't do it.mind you I told him someone saw him do it and later on that night and days to Come my wife and I called his cell phone and buisness phone leaving messages and texts that we wanted money for the damages that neighbor saw him do it if he didn't pay us were taking him to court.well took him to. Court we won the case and according to court paper my wife has to go after him to get the money.dont know why since the whole point of going to court was because he didn't want to pay for what he did.anyways my wife called him and even was nice to him and he with arrogance said he's appealing the case.nice guy huh?must be nice to go damaging someone's property then think you don't have to be accountable and responsile for paying for what you did.anyone who needs or doesn't need to move do not I say do not hire Jim Ryder or j r moving and storage company in staten island 10314 and please tell your friends and family not to as well.
Otherwise you'll have to worry about him damaging your belongings or car and he will not take responsibility for it.mind you it wasnt even us who was moving it was a neighbor.

i didnt even do buisness with this company but on sunday jan 29th while my husband was going to our truck to get some papers we left in there because were about to buy a home saw j and r company moving furniture out of another tenants apartment.my husband thought since the tenant was moving that they were moving the furniture in the company vehicle they had there.there was no damage whatsoever done to our car its pretty new we didnt even have the truck for a year yet we never had an accident or never bought it with damage to it.shortly after my husband coming back inside our apartment my close by neighbor heard and seen the moving guys slamming and rough handling the furnitures and thought it was strange because she too thought they were going to put it in their vehicle, instead she seen them carelessly banging around the furniture side by side to my truck.she didnt think they be that careless to do 700-800 worth of damage to my truck so she went back inside.we didnt know the stuff was at the curb next to my truck until i went to take my daughter to school monday the 30th at 7:30 am.before i got to my car i saw how much and how big and heavy stuff was so close to my truck that from a distance i got sooo mad thinking noones suppose to put that furniture out there like that esp that much at one time.their suppose to expose of everything up the stairs by the trash like everyone else does.the maintance guys are the one who take care of it on working days.any how i get to my truck to put baby in carseat first and thats when i notice this huge indent with paint chipped off and what appeared to look like fingerprints smeared all over the area as if the person was trying to rub it out.i took pictures right away.to make long story short later on that day i ran into tenant who was back to get some more stuff to finish the move and we got into an argumment over it because he was denying having anything to do with it and gave my jimmy ryders number stating it was his fault because he was the one doing the actual moving and ridding of the furniture to the curb.my husband called him and of course hes denying damaging my truck weve been calling and texting him and he refuses to respond back or give us the money to fix it.hes not getting away with this. anyone else with similair issue contact me bellaitaliana20@aol.com

I was very stessed on the day of the move but that changed quickly soon after the men showed up.The men were very pleasant and proffessional from the time they showed up until the time they finished the job. They knew exactly what to do where to place things, They were absolutely amazing and for a very reasonable price. Two thumbs up!!! I would never use any other moving company.

I hired JR moving to move my 3 bed rooms house. I was very concern that the movers will be scared ,because I had a lot of boxes and other stuff. The guys worked very hard. sometimes they told jokes. It was a long day but they had the beds set for my children and ready for me to get up and cook the next morning. These man worked very hard! and they did a good job. I will recommend them to every one I know for sure.

Pros: Strong Smart and Funny

JR Moving came recommended to me through a co-worker, and after shopping around, I decided to choose them for the move. They were quick and courteous and the job was done in no time. The owner was very friendly and made a stressful situation more relaxing and humorous. All of the workers did a great job and worked extremely hard. They even helped me unpack some of the heavier items and put back together my furniture. It was a great experience and I would definately recommend their service to others.

This guy is a rip-off artist! He quoted me a per hour rate; said they have boxes and will help pack the boxes, but never happened to mention that he charges extra for the boxes. I used 29 boxes, many of them packed only 1/2 full (at owner's directing) - and was charged an extra $325!!! not for the service of packing, which was included, but for the cardboard!!!

His workers felt so bad. They said they usually pull the customer to the side and tell them about the hidden charge, but they thought that I knew already or they would have tipped me off.

This man charged me $866 (for 5 hours), and wanted cash; when I gave him $900 in hundred dollar bills, he said he didn't have the change and asked if he could keep it! When I asked him to get change, he went down to the truck and sulked, and when I chased him down for it, he said "What'm I s'pposed to do?" (I got the change myself)

The workers did a great job. They are paid $7 an hour, though they did ALL of the work. All the "owner" did was order them to use more boxes than were actually needed so that many of the boxes ended up 1/2 full. I didn't have any faith that the tip money would get to the workers, so I tipped them on the side.

Oh, and this "company owner", after concluding business with me, must have taken my copy of the bill off my kitchen table, when I wasn't looking. I guess he was scared I'd take him to small claims court!
