My experience at Lia was total disappointment.
The guy that greeted me was Ian. Ian was not what you would consider warm individual. I say that because he looked at his computer screen more than me while he was answering my questions. In other words, I asked questions, and he answered to the computer screen instead.
When I got his attention I asked him to not wash my car. He answered me while looking at the screen, yet again, "we can not do that if you don't want it done." I then let him know that I decline the vacuuming also, and he replied while looking at the screen, "we don't do it anyway."
If his love for the computer screen wasn't enough, after all the paperwork was explained and signed he just walks away without telling me the location of the waiting room.
Just to be clear, this dealership was my fourth dealership in which I had my car serviced. None of the other service personals from the other three dealerships failed to guide me to the waiting room. What a service huh?
Even though I felt less than welcomed, I at least felt assured that my car won't be washed nor vacuumed. Boy was I wrong!
After paying for the service I go out to my car, and it is washed!! Not only that, it is half-ass washed! That was the exact reason why I had declined the car wash. What is the point of having your car washed only to have dirt spots that sticks out like a sore thumb?
Another reason why I didn't want my car washed is because I had washed AND waxed it just two weeks ago. I didn't want them to wash the wax away. In other words, I didn't want to spend the time to rewax my car.
I was totally angry. All because I brought my car to be serviced, I had gained another chore that I had to do on my day off. I had them REwash the car and wax it since it was their fault that my car lost it's wax coating. Their version of rewashing was wiping away the dirt spots, that I pointed out, while they were waxing! In other words, THEY WERE SCRATCHING THE HELL OUT OF MY PAINT ON MY CAR with wax-dirt mixture!
I grabbed the manager of the service department to ask him to explain to me how can they apply wax on top of a dirt spot that they didn't properly wash out, and his answer to me was that their washer does not wash every corner of the car and that it is not detailing of the car that they do when they wash the car. He was justifying himself and his department about the half-ass washing that my car received!! He understood that my car now has dirt spots underneath the wax coating, but because their washer does not wash properly his hand is tied?! Is that my problem or his problem? Even if he himself wash it with his own hands he should fix the wrong.
By this time the general manager comes out, and there are about six people that gathered around me. One of the guys explained the situation to the general manager, and without any apology or introduction he flat out asked me with an impatient tone of voice, "you want the car waxed?" I answered with yes and a nod, and he answers me when he was already halfway turned around walking away, "okay, but it will take a while."
Am I some kind of diseased fellow that I must be treated with such disrespect?
So I wait with an renewed assurance that the job will be done correctly since I got what appeared to be a promise from the general manager. I go out the second time, and my car looks much better. However, it wasn't still properly cleaned as I still saw spots and sticky lines that I knew that got on the car from four days ago at my job that I could rub away with the tip of my finger. If something that can be removed just from rubbing of the finger remains after a "proper" wash, can one be assured that the whole car has been washed with care? If anything, it just tells me that all they did was spot washing and/or spot waxing because such can even rub off during waxing process...if done right, which I doubt.
By this time I had been in the dealership for over 4 hours! I didn't want to wait anymore and just left without anymore complaint. Then while I was about halfway to my house I noticed that stuff in my car were rearranged. Upon closer look I realized that it was VACUUMED!!
There is always a reason for everything, and the reason for me declining the vacuum was for that exact reason...wanting to preserve my things that have meaning to ME! It might have looked to the service employee like a trash, but it certainly was not!
Just as a side note, they charged me about $100 more than another Hyundai dealership in Syracuse did for same inspections, services, and replacements of parts (airfilter, oil, tire rotations, and such) that was done for 30k miles. I understand that cost of living may be different from city to city, but difference of $100 is ridiculous. So I paid more for the service, and I get treated like an annoyance for them? How does that work?

I went to Lia Hyundai to take advantage of .9% financing during April 2011. The salesman, Jason Cosmo, was extremely helpful in trying to find a basic silver Sonata for me. They did not have one in stock but after meeting with the sales manager Jon Kirschman they found that they were getting a silver Sonata as a swap that weekend and would be able to deliver the car the following Monday. I had checked prices with Consumer Reports and found Lia Hyundai's pricing to be very fair. When the car arrived we discovered that it had rather high mileage for a new car. This was due to the fact that it had been moved between a couple dealerships in Western New York and then was driven to Albany. When I discussed this with the general manager Michael Bowers he gave me a voucher for future service. I thought this was extremely fare. I felt that Lia Hyundai went "the extra mile" to make this sale a pleasant experience and I would highly recommend them.

Have to give at least 1 star, but they're not even worth that.
First: they always insist that a less than excellent rating on their review means failure. Well, boo hoo, they don't deserve that excellent rating.
Service: rip-off. They never honor their coupons and will argue about the wording of the coupon. Why bother. Should you ever made the mistake of buying a Hyundai, never go to this service place. No one honest person there.

recently purchased a genesis coupe. I was promised two snow tires with the car. Mike Bowers gave me his card and told me that I will get those on the weekend ( I bought the car on Friday 11/12/2010. ) on wednesday I called Mike, he said that he is cutting the check and I should get the tires by the upcomig weekend. ( 11/17/2010). I have not been contacted since than. So I called again today. (11/22/2010) Mike was not available. I was told by the lady who answered the phone that he stepped out of the building. I asked for my salesman Derick. Derick magically got a hold of Mike and derick told me that I should get my tires by this Friday. After all this I was a bit skeptical. I called Mike on Monday 11/29/2010 and I still don't have my tires. I am very frustrated and upset. Also he never returns any of my phone calls.

My wife brought our NEW Hyundai in to the service department on a Friday for the first scheduled checkup. The check engine light was on and the service guy said not to worry. He gave her an appointment for the following week and backed the car out of the garage, leaving it in a position where it had to be backed up further to be turned around. While turning the car around, she backed into a car that was parked in a "No Parking" lane. She was very upset and crying. She gave the service guy her driver's license, registration, and insurance card to copy and he said "No problem, the damage was very minor and the insurance company would take care of it, no police report was necessary, and she could go home.". She was so upset that she couldn't drive. She called me to pick her up. I had my sister drive me to the shop and I drove her car home. A little while later the MANAGER, (a very important person) called and said that the police were on the way, and my wife had to return and fill out an accident report. I told him that the service guy said "because the damage was LESS than $500.00, no police report would be necessary". The MANAGER, (a very important person) said that CORPORATE (whoever that is) wanted a police report, and we had better come back. This was about 2:30 in the afternoon. We waited until about 4: PM and called the Albany PD. They said because it was shift change, it would be a while longer. I told them that if they want us we will be at home. Around 5:PM a lady police person called and took a statement on the phone.

The following week I took the car for the appointment. The check engine light was caused by a broken wire that the service guy said had been chewed by a rodent and was NOT covered by the warrantee. The estimate to repair it was $99.00. After he taped up the wire, he gave me a bill for $199.00 plus tax. Not wanting to lose the car, I paid the bill.

The sales staff is typical car salesmen, polite, courteous, and realize that the customer pays everybody's paycheck.

The management has delusions of grandeur, and the service department is a RIP OFF.

Before shopping I read alot of these messages and was very leary of Lia. I went to Fucillos and was appalled at the treatment. I went to Lia and have to disagree 100% with these people. Tracy was very nice and the staff was very polite. I don't give perfect scores ever but this is as High a rating I will give.

Purchased an 07 Azera with my hard-earned retirement dollars. Car had a cracked frame around DS rear view mirror--not a big deal, said they would repair it. Rest of body was in very good shape. Came with a friend the next day to pick up car. Completed paperwork and saw them then drive the car into the service area. Over an hour later, I was getting in car when my friend noticed on his side a sprung rear panel--this wasn??t there yesterday. Said when I came for the mirror they would put a couple clips to repair panel. Turns out car was in an accident on their lot the morning of pickup. Lower rear bumper was hit and consequently sprung panel. They spray painted by hand the bumper missing large areas. Tough to cover something up when you??re in a hurry. Brought the car in several days later to replace mirror which they claimed had to be painted and replaced. I had the police meet me on the lot to get an accident report to protect myself so that the bumper would be addressed properly. They had my car for EIGHT days. On the seventh day they said they still had to install the mirror. When I picked up my car the mirror had a significant scratch on the base which they just painted over. The bumper was at least mechanically spray painted, however the paint doesn??t match the rest of the car. I came in regarding two other matters: Brakes-I questioned the quality of the stop-- they said it passed inspection (which of course they did, and the car stops--end of that one; Humming noise not noted until I took a road trip-they agreed it was cupped tired, claiming it was not a safety issue and booted me out the door, not even asking me if I wanted to correct they problem. I had to elsewhere and pay to have the tire issue corrected.

Clearly you need to stay away from this dealership. I have already diverted several buyers from this place and will continue to do so over the next five years as I make my payments. ps: they gave me two free oil changes--picture that!

Came here to look, not too sure I wanted to buy the type of car. The sales staff was friendly. They asked if I needed any help and If I did they would help me. They let me go free to look around by myself. They were very nice and friendly. A lot nicer than the fucillo place down the road.
