In Short
Tucked around the corner from a nail salon on Park Slope's main drag, this inconspicuous eatery specializes in catering and delivery. Since the wall-papered, kitchen-cozy room has but a few tables, most customers get food to go or place a delivery order from home. The menu might best be described as world cuisine with a higher consciousness: Hungry diners will find organic crab cakes, salads made with tempeh bacon and vegan fudge brownies.

The Inside Scoop

  1. Save Time - Deliveries are free for residents of Park Slope, Prospect Heights and Windsor Terrace.
  2. Kid-Friendly - Youthful dishes like organic PB&J should appeal to kids of all ages.
  3. Catering - The restaurant offers both private event catering and full chef services.

Delicious but....

by Jennifer K. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 8,182

I'm not so sure how "healthy" everything is. I appreciate a vegan option, but I'd love to have a better sense of the nutrition and calories since I'm not vegan--just health concious. Still, the food is yummy--and I love the vegan apple crumb cake.

One helping for me

by Eleonor B. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 7,244

I respect the place and think the are a great option for organic and vegetarian. However, whatever I've had there, except for their delicious popovers, seems very heavy on spices, especially rosemary.

Amazing Options for the Health Concious

by boat

The food here is so goo I won't go anywhere else when I decide to treat myself to lunch out. I try to eat organic--gluten free-- no refined sugars-- no dairy-- and this place offers me those options. Other similar places just don't have the taste and the variety. And I have yet to find another place that has agave desserts. Try the PEANUT BUTTER BLONDIE!

Pros: Squash Soup, Curry Chicken, Agave Desserts

Cons: I won't try anywhere else

Wake up your taste buds here!

by earthlydelight

I've been a steady customer here for a few years and thought it only right to tell the world that they are truely a FIND. Nothing that they serve is average or lacking for flavor. I always can find something new and interesting and know that there is integrity behind it. You could never even match their value either. Much of their offerings are organic and are cheaper than their conventional counterparts at other establishments. Two thumbs up!! I hope that they are around for a long long time to come.

Pros: Fast service

Cons: difficult to park, but worth it

recently disappointed

by medusa315

I once wrote a review before about how much I loved this restaurant. But a recent order left me disappointed. Usually the portions are plentiful, so that a $7.95 sandwich could make two meals. But my recent order of the blackened catfish po'boy was sub-par--there was hardly any fish on it, hardly any jalapeno tartar. The bulk of the sandwich was the lettuce and tomato, and if I wanted that, I'd certainly not pay $7.95 for it. Don't let me down, Second Helpings. Don't lose me as an advocate of your place!

Pros: inventive menu

Cons: lettuce and tomato should not = 7.95
