Message from Roppongi Restaurant

Roppongi offers trendy new style Japanese cuisine to Upper West Side.
  • Fresh Sushi and Sashimi
  • Top Quality Ingredients
  • Free Delivery in Manhattan

Come visit Roppongi Restaurant for the best sushi on the Upper West Side. We offer traditional Japanese dishes, as well as new fusion-style platters. We are open seven days a week for lunch and dinner. Owners and hosts Kevin and Jenny Nguyen opened Roppongi's doors in 1999 to offer not only typical Japanese sushi and teriyaki dishes to the Upper West Side, but also larger portioned speciality Japanese food. The chefs at the sushi bar create special dishes on a weekly basis and will happily create unique plates based on a customer's request. The creative interior design and large silk screens of the restaurant may overwhelm some at first, but the unobtrusive jazz and muted green and tan decor create a low key and enjoyable setting.

Great Sushi & Sashimi 5 Star Rating - World class

My husband's Aunt told us about Roppongi, I was taking him out for his birthday, then to see Steely Dan at the Beacon. We got their early around 5:30pm, so I don't how crowded it would be later on. The food was great, the waitress ordered their most popular rolls for us and we shared the Sashimi platter. We sat outside, which we try to do when we are in the city, but if we had to sit inside it was really nice. The staff was amazing! I will go again and I will recommend it to my friends. If we lived in the city, we would go once a week, that's how much we loved it. The next time I meet my husband at work, we will take a side trip. Also thru this website I got a $20 off coupon (if your birthday is within a week before or after the actual day, with proof of ID, you get 20 bucks off the meal). A must try!

Pros: Enjoyed everything.
Cons: none

If you didn't like sashimi before, it's b/c you haven't been here. 5 Star Rating - World class

Every course was delicious. The dining was so fine that you would expect to pay an arm and both legs for it, but astonishingly, the prices were VERY reasonable. The place is smaller than I expected, but the dcor is modern and very pleasant. The service wasnt perfect (my date was given water, but I was not), but also not too bad (once I got the water, they were refilling it attentively). The sashimi was so fresh and delicious that it melted in my mouth. I will definitely go back to Roppongi again and again.

Pros: Tasty food.
Cons: Wait staff paid more attention to the gentleman than the lady.

Simply Sushi 5 Star Rating - World class

Great Little Spot. Good selection and affordable. Hot White Dragon Roll, Gyoza, Lobster Roll appetizer and sashimi were fresh and delicious. Will return again, if only to check out the BBQ joint next door.

Pros: Quick Seating, Fresh Sushi, cold beer & Saki

Great food, great value and great fun. 5 Star Rating - World class

We tried Roppongi for the first time last week and it was excellent. The selection of sushi, rolls and hot entrees is vast. The Chef's sushi rolls are great. I had several that were unique and tasted great. Prices are very reasonable and the restaurant has good decor. Skip Haru and its overrated and overpriced sushi across the street and check out Roppongi.

Pros: Price, Selection
Cons: Tight tables

Where is Roppongi????????? 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

Where is Roppongi? This is your first question after you enter there and take a look at the menu...it was my favorite Japanease restaurant in NYC and now is the worst!
The menu is completely changed, most of the good entrees disappeared...you can certainly find a better sushi taste (and cheaper) in every supermarket in NYC!!!

Cons: expensive
