Doctor Pats Pet House Call Practice

I find Dr. Pat to be very personable and I do not want a vet with a personality I want a vet who knows what he is doing. If I thought that my cat was so sick and he did not do the right thing I would of taken him to a 24 emergency hospital. There is traffic all over New York so no one can ever be on time, if he spends alot of time with an animal before he came to me I would appreciate that and wait for him with no problem. I have sat in a doctor's office for two hours and he only could spend 10 minutes with me because of other patient's waiting. I would and do recommended Dr. Pat and I am very satisfied with his services.

My experience with Dr Pat was quite negative. He was unfriendly & perfunctory on the phone, arrived more than 4 hours later than he said he would, tried to talk me into bringing a sick cat out to his van rather than coming up to my apartment - when the whole point of calling him was to have a vet come to the house. He examined my cat but did not seem to have any idea of what was wrong with her, though he did take blood & urine samples. He said she was dehydrated & recommended subcutaneous hydration but did not have the necessary equipment in his van. The next morning he called to tell me my cat had terminal kidney failure. She had already died in the night.

As the name of this business says, this is a vet who makes house calls. While it seems like doctors making house calls died a long time ago, this vet makes the practice alive and well. I have found that this makes it much easier for my pet and whoever would have to take her to the vet. It is also great when emergencies come up to have a vet come to the house instead of rushing to emergency pet care.
