Capri Pizza was the first place my parents and I dined when be began vacationing in the Lake George region over 26 years ago. We liked it then and still enjoy it today.

Similiar to most Northeastern casual pizza places, Capri is like an old friend. Whenever my family is in Lake George we always manage to have lunch or dinner at Capri.

Capri serves NY style pizza, heros, pasta and other various Italian meals. It is very casual and caters to families. All of the booths feature music jukeboxes, which were commons in most family restaurants years ago. It's fun and brings one back to the 60s and 70s. Though the music, of course, is modern with some oldies thrown in for the old folks!

Prices are reasonable for the area. They have takeout and also sell pizza by the slice. The pizza comes in all the usual varieties. Meals are mostly Southern Italian style and good portions are provided. The heros are good too, though I would avoid the veal, which during our last visited tended to be a bit tough and over cooked.

Capri does get crowded, especially during the high season (May-early Sept.), so it wise to arrive early and be prepared for some noice, since there are many families with small children vacationing in Lake George.

Otherwise, I would recommend Capri as a great, economic place for homestyle Italian meals.

PROS: Good food, quick service
CONS: Crowds and some times noise.
