Whoever wrote that good review must be paid by the company. I went there but realized something wasn't quite right halfway through the "interview". The way he explained it made it sound shady. I asked if they have classes every week and was told no just next wk and the wk after. That made me think that the place wouldnt be there in a few wks. I was told I could put down any amount as a deposit and he showed me a $3 deposit. The business card he gave me when I left said American Bartenders ASSOCIATES. I have heard of The ABAssociation so I automatically thought it was an off-brand rip off and once I googled it I saw a few testimonials about the SCAM. Btw the place was a hole-in-the-wall and was under construction. From reading the angry testimonials of previous years it was under construction then as well. It's lame that the scam has been going on for so long. Glad I didnt fall for it but just wanted to warn others if at all possible

This place is a joke. I was tricked through their Craigslist ad, thinking this was a job opening. After going all the way to Queens for my "job interview", I quickly realized that was not the case. After being (foolishly) persuaded by the

Hey, I love this job. Recently moved to NY to study film at NYU. Didn't have much time to work but needed the cash to live. ABA taught me the "art" of mixology which gave me the confidence to land a job at a high traffic hipster bar in

I have been out of work for six months having been fired after My boss's wife felt I was having an affair with her husband\r
(but that's a whole other story).Seems like the story of my life as an attractive 26 year old in the Big Apple.

I am writing this review in hopes of helping others avoid the experience I had so listen up. If you are looking for a chance to train and work as a bartender look elsewhere. This place is not legitimate. I wish I had read a review of this place before I shelled out 200.00 for jobs that are already posted on Craigslist. Brian Michaels is a modern day Rumplestiltskin if I ever saw one. he will tell you he has contacts with bars and Hugo tells you its okay to lie on your resume. If you are in the mood for a scam go there.

Pros: nothing

Cons: just a notch above a scam

Im a 22 year old college student and I needed to make extra money on a part time job....the economy is very hard and nobody is hiring...thank god I found ABA.. They train you to be a Bartender in as little as 8 hours and they give you job placement as well for as cheap as $200.00. Within less then a week i took the course and got placed in a nightclub to work as a bartender. Im making money and having fun at the sametime! Enrolling in ABA was he best decision i could have made..well after enrolling in Medical School of Course!

These people will take your money and not deliver. Their 8-hour class is a joke. Their job placement non-existent. Avoid at all costs.
