Dr. Allan Sicignano is amazing!

by Erin M.

Dr. Allan Sicignano is professional, sensitive, informative and effective. He is incredibly capable at both diagnostic and treatment. He can really read your body. I received so much more relief in just two days under Dr. Sicignanos care than I did in 6 months with my local Chiropractor! He is an exceptional healer!

Number one practitioner

by K G.

I had severe whiplash from a car accident as a teenager, and as a result developed neck problems from progressive spinal degeneration. After trying many doctors and bodyworkers, I began to see Dr. Sicignano ten years ago. Immediately I noticed a difference, I see him now every few months on a maintainance program. Thanks to his treatments, I have complete mobility in my neck despite the previous injuries and degeneration. He is thorough, professional and friendly, a great doctor. I am so happy to have discovered him, and grateful for his dedication.

4 BACK SURGERIES FAILED. DR ALLAN saved me. A TRUE GOD!!!

by shprese

I was referred to Dr. Alllan by my sister. I never believed in chiropractors but after having 2 surgeries on my lumbar spine for a cracked disk and a herniated disk and having 2 surgeries on my right shoulder for a snapping scapula all of which failed and have left me hanging on a piece of thread. Completely MISERABLE AND DEPRESSED and almost suicidal i finally decided to give this guy a chance. I figured i have nothing to loose.I walked into his office expecting absolutely nothing to change and thinking i would be done in like 20 minutes Dr. Allan takes a look at my body head to toe and simply examines my back and explains to me what he sees and then takes a few xrays all of which show exactly what he said. He took his time with me and was extremely honest in saying im not sure if we can fix this but we have to try it. I left after 2 hrs and began seeing him 3 days a week. I was shocked and thrilled at the same time that this DR is so patient and really takes his time and wants to make sure that i understand what is happening to my spine. i am used to having Doctors see u and kick you out of the office in 10-15 minutes but not Dr allan. The first week i felt the same and thought this is a jokel and was going to quit. My sister convinced me to hang in there that i need to give it more time. On my 6th visit I FELT FANTASTIC. I have no idea how or what happened to my body but for the first time in years i felt my legs and feet. they are usually numb but as of lately i have been feeling great. I have been seeing Dr Allan for about 3 weeks now and OH MY GOD it has been the best thing i have ever done for myself. im so happy and thankful to have met such an incredible healer. Only a person who has truly suffered from pain can possibly understand this. "IF YOU WANT YOUR LIFE BACK GO SEE DR ALLAN". Especially if you have been told to have any kind of surgery. If i can take back all of the surgeries that i did I WOULD DO THAT IN A HEARTBEAT!

Pros: caring, sensitive,Extremely knowledgeable about the spine,

Cons: His office is not in Westchester.

I'm suprised others liked it

by nyc007

I went to see Dr. S for back pain after reading all of the positive reviews on here. When I arrived I was immediately stunned by the horrible office. Although this may seem purely superficial I believe that a persons environment reflects who that person is and the type of treatment they provide. That office said outdated, not detail oriented, not organized. I decided to give Dr. S a few tries thinking maybe I was being too harsh and judgemental. He was very nice and caring and tried his best. However even after a few visits I still felt so uncomfortable there in the hot office, even Dr. S was sweaty when he adjusted me, with paper towels on the head rest for 'hyigene' and my back was not feeling better. I decided to try Oasis Chiropractic and was so happy I switched. That experience was 180 degrees of Dr. S. I was given a diagnosis, treatment plan with beginning and end, friendly caring Dr. also and already feel an improvement in my back.

Pros: Dr. S is nice and genuinely cares

Cons: horrible office, outdated equipment,no treatment plan

In a Class By Himself

by MaxNYC

Dr.Allen is special. I've been to other chiropractors with more gadgets and technology, but that stuff never worked for fixing my sports and stress related injuries. What is working is Dr. Allen's ability to look at my body, see what's going on and give it exactly the right kind of adjustment it needs- just like that. Not everyone can do that- in fact, no one else has been able to precisely un-torque me like Dr. Allen has. After nearly 20 years of living with injuries, he's gotten things moving again in one month. As a side note, he tells it like it is and doesn't over-prescribe his services- his priorities are healing.

Pros: Dedicated, very intutive, low pressure, honest, convenient!

Cons: None

Thank God for Allan Sicignano...

by SMDuffy

No, seriously, he is the answer to spine-related pain ... I have had hip sciatica and a pinched nerve in my shoulder for years and his treatment has made a huge difference. I can feel my pain lessening over time. He is the most committed, knowledgeable, EFFECTIVE caregiver I have ever encountered. It is so clear he is here to serve and that he reveres his discipline and the human body. I echo everything everyone has said on this site ... he is a healer, a scientist, and a kind and interesting human being. Don't hesitate to see him -- run...or hobble or crawl ... lol

Pros: everything

Cons: he seems to be a lone breed

A great doctor!

by KatGray

For years I looked for an answer to the pain coming from an old whiplash injury. One day a friend told me about a great chiropractor in New York and it turned out I had passed his office on Spring and Mott streets but never gone in. After the first treatment, I immediately was able to sleep for the first time in a long long time. After a series of treatments, I regained movement in my stiff neck and the progressive spinal degeneration that was a result of the injury, was stopped. Ten years later, I go to Dr. Sicignano a 3-4 times a year on a maintainance program which keeps my neck mobile and pain free. He is a wonderful source of knowledge about the body structure, alignment, and chemistry. What a kind, knowledgeable, professional human being that I am so grateful to have as my doctor.

Pros: committed, kind, effective treatment

Cons: none

How fortunate we are to have such a healer in our day.

by rhedeville

Dr. Allan has been my chiropractor since 1997. He is a true miracle worker and healer. After every treatment I feel like my energy, mind, spirit, and entire emotional as well as physical health have been completely 're-set' and back on track. Not only is he one of the kindest people on the planet, his depth of knowledge in treating the body is extraordinary. I am grateful to have found such an amazing doctor these past 11 years and pray he never retires. His talents are incredible and I owe so much of my health and well-being to him.

Cons: He can't clone himself.

Dr. Sicignano is a pioneer and healer on the highest level

by Welkocity

After suffering a traumatic disc herniation I was in the worst pain of my life. Because of the severity of the pain I thought I had to see a sports injury surgeon for a diagnosis and morphine injection. One thousand dollars later, and after receiving a depressing and costly prognosis and with no relief of pain I "crawled" in utter desparation to Dr. Sicignano who I knew from my neighborhood. Without asking me to wait or fill out paperwork Dr. Sicignano took me into his care and IMMEDIATELY addressed and fixed my problem. I walked out of his office standing upright and entrusted myself into his care from that moment on. Since then he has continued to put me on a path to recovery . His energy, approach and attitude is positive and motivating. By contrast to the surgeon MD that I first saw, who was morbidly depressing, Dr. S was very reasurring and made me understand and feel that I would get better. He gets my highest review as a true healer, artist and scientist.
Sincerely,
David Welker

Give Dr. Allan a try if you want to get off a pharma dependency!

by chriskorus

Dr. Allan was recommended by a friend of mine who's a naturopathic doctor (CT certified) as one of the best chiropractors she had ever encountered. My experience has proven this to be true. I've been going for about 6 years now. I've used other chiropractors who are good, but Dr. Allan is exceptional. I've regained mobility and flexibility with my back that I didn't realize I had lost. I used to suffer from chronic headaches with mega doses of Advil as the treatment. Now, I never have to take anything for headaches, because I no longer experience them. Try the D-Hist he recommends for people with seasonal allergies. Works better than any of the pharma solutions, except perhaps for Benadryl, which makes me too sleepy.

Pros: Exceptional chiropractic care

hands down, the best treatment you can find

by cloud9to5

I woke up one morning with the worst pain I have ever felt in my life. I could not move my neck at all without feeling an excruciating wave of agonizing sensation pulse through my entire body. It was a living nightmare, and I was genuinely scared. Instead of going directly to the emergency room, where I knew I would be given pain-killers to simply dull the problem, I cautiously put myself in a cab and asked the driver to carefully take me to Spring Street Chiropractic. I had passed the office a number of times previously since it was near my workplace, but never bothered to go in because I didn't think it was necessary at the time. With an assuring and professional demeanor, Dr. Allan assessed my situation and pinpointed the pinched nerve. After visiting his office regularly, the pain gradually receded and eventually went away. I still go to visit Dr. Allan frequently, not for pain relief anymore, but for long-term corrective spinal care. He is an incredibly engaging person and has a vast wealth of knowledge, both medically and otherwise. I recently learned that he used to be a renowned sculptor a long time ago, a testament to his manual dexterity. Even if you are not in pain, I would strongly recommend visiting Spring Street Chiropractic. Daily activity causes a great deal of stress on the structure of the spine, and over time can spiral into very complex problems. It is worth a visit, if only to see what condition your body is in and take measures to prevent any serious damage from occurring in the future.

Pros: professional, highly skilled, informative

Cons: none

Finally I can have my life back!

by muibeann

If I slept well the night before I'll wake up fully charged the next day however, by noon my body is out of juices. I felt tired, fatigue, pains all over my body, sleepy at times, and the list goes on. I felt like a 30 some trap in a 60 some years old body. So I brought these conditions to my doctors and not only did they NOT find anything wrong with me, they described on my yearly physical exam "NORMAL". Then why don't I felt normal? With trails and errors I finally came across doctor Sicignano, with the x-ray, he showed me what was costing the pains in my body and the fatigues that I felt. He also described why these pains will restrict the full functions of my body and the treatments that can get my health back. At first I was skeptical, it was the non-surgical and non-drug induce methods make me give it a try. And I?m glad I did because after the first few treatments I felt rather relieve in the most painful areas of my body. As the major painful areas significantly reduce I start to felt the minor pained areas and as treatment went on, all these pains start to lessen every time I visit Dr. Sicignano. I have been seeing Dr. Sicignano for almost 2 years now and it was the best investment I have ever made in my life!

Pros: Everything

Cons: Depending on your condition, it can add up however he does take insurance so ask

Attention Headache Sufferers

by AnnetteNYC

I have been suffering with severe tension headaches for the past 6 months. My symptoms include severe debilitating pain in the back of the head, tightness in the chest, feeling like my ears are going to pop, shooting pain in my arms and legs, blurred vision, dizziness, apnea and nausea. I have been to the emergency room many times, seen doctors, neurologists, and accupuncturists. None of the medical professionals that I have seen have been able to identify the cause of my pain, and for the most part prescribed pain medication that would eventually cause more head aches as side effects.

Dr. Sicignano was very confident in his diagnosis. He was able to show me how far out of alignment my neck has become, and that I am actually suffering from the affects of a pinched nerve. And let me tell you, after seeing as many Doctors and taking MRIs and EEGs and all the different medications etc., to finally hear something that made sense, and that there has hope, and a road to follow - has given me piece of mind.

He has encouraged me to get off of as much medication as possible. His adjustments are truly amazing. I feel as though the end is in sight and there is a light at the end of the tunnel. If you find yourself suffering from any of the symptoms that I mentioned above, I would highly recommend you see Dr. Sicignano.

Pros: Gifted Healer, Confident in diagnosis and treatment

Cons: None to mention

Went in like a pretzel at noon and later that day felt human again ;-) Thanks Dr. Allan

by scottnyc1

I have been a loyal visitor to Spring Street Chiropractic for 10+ years! I trust and respect his diagnosis and treatment and regard him as most thorough, educated and professional in his work. Every case is treated as unique and receives the required attention to detail and historical review before anything else. I am a 45yr. old male who acts like a 25yr. old and have several sports related injuries and a total knee replacement in the past year. When I tell you I have crawled into the office more than once from "overdoing it", that would be an understatement. After treatment and ice I was up and playing softball the next day... I kid you not.

Pros: Great neighborhood, close to subway, takes emergencies, street level entry...

Cons: Can't think of any

Dr Allan is a healer. Professional, honest, kind and effective. Quit reading this and call for an appointment!

by GregTornquist7

I am a guitarist and composer who had a frozen shoulder and subsequent left hand numbness.
After being referred to a surgery center I decided to have Dr Allan Sicignano at Spring Street Chiropractic work on me first. Dr Allan...or Allan to his friends and after one visit you want him to be your friend...adjusted me and worked on my back, shoulder, arm, wrist and hand. Not only did I not need surgery but I regained the fluid motion that I always wanted. Since then I've written an entire musical for Broadway! Never would have happened with out Dr Allan. I also have referred a number of other friends to him. Every single one was helped and thanked me. I've been to chiropractors in 3 other states and no one has helped me more than Spring Street Chiropractic. He's a healer. Professional, honest, kind and effective.

Pros: healing and professional

Cons: he can't be cloned

Finally, a doctor who knows what he's doing!

by baylaural

If it weren't for the treatment from Dr. Sicignano, I would not be able to live such an active lifestyle. The thing that I noticed first about him was how he took great care to thoroughly examine my spine ... there's no cookie cutter aproach here. My extreme TMJ and neck pain that I suffered from for years is now gone and I really appreciate how generous he is with his knowledge too. Dr. Sicignano knows his nutrition and encourages me to excercise and stretch so that the adjustments last longer.

Pros: Took time to listen to my questions and educate me about chiropractic

Cons: I can't really think of any

Excellent chiropractic care, gives full spine adjustments with immediate results.

by krissyk10012

My neck recently went out so badly that I could not turn my head, and I needed to be at the top of my game for an important interview. Dr. Sicignano treated me twice on the first day and again the following day and my stiff neck was gone. He also adjusted my entire back and worked on my shoulder for a pre-existing condition, and I feel great!.......just in time for my interview, which went really well thanks to the care I received. He is able to pinpoint the problem and treat the condition so specifically that the results are fast and effective. I highly recommend him.

Pros: Fast relief, results
