Very, very disappointed in food, service. Food was cold had to be returned by the three dinners, came back obviously heated in microwave as juices were overflowing on dish. Mistakes, mistakes by the waiter and he didn't even ask if we wanted coffee or dessert. I also must comment I was feeling sick and by the time I got home felt like I suffered food posioning from the clams throughtout the entire night. Will NEVER go back as they just didnt seem to care if it was satisfactory or not! Not a single welcome at the door or how was your meal today. Lacks everything.

Out of all the restaurants in Buffalo, I chose this one for my birthday dinner. I felt that supporting a local restaurant would be best during these hard financial times and since they specialize in prime rib, it would be tasty.
First err was the seafood bisque; I have never had a brown bisque before, but it was palatable.
Second problem was the stuffed peppers; the peppers weren't even cooked. It seemed like the chef just stuffed them with cheese without ever precooking the peppers even slightly or putting them under the broiler afterward to give them at least the appearance of being cooked.
Third and final disaster was the prime rib. My boyfriend, his mother, and myself all had ordered our cuts medium rare. My boyfriends father ordered his medium. When our entrees appeared, all of ours were medium well. The server came over to check on us and I was not eating because I was irritated by yet another issue at this restaurant. We told her that we ordered our prime rib medium rare and she responded that they ran out of prime rib. Uhhh. You ran out of prime rib on a Thursday night at an establishment that specializes in prime rib and then instead of notifying us that you don't have our temps available, you serve us what you had leftover which was totally not what was ordered? Not only was that poor decision making on the chef and owners part, but also the server. I work in the food service industry and if we are out of something, I tell my guests. I would NEVER do what they did.
They only comped 2 beers, not even 1 of the incorrectly handed out entrees they so graciously provided us with. The place looks like it's falling apart and if this is how they treat all of their patrons, I can understand why.

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Everything

Food wasn't very good and the service was terrible. The night we there we asked to speak to the manager and after 20 minutes no one came. I went back to my hotel and immediately contacted the restaurant by email and no one ever bothered to contact me. The waitress was the worst I've ever had and brought us someone elses check with all of their cash in it and left it on the table. When I noticed it she comes running up and grabs it saying I've been looking everywhere for that. We split the bill with some people paying cash and one person paid on a credit card. Well she finds out the next day that the entire bill was charged to her credit card. Save yourself some stress and go somewhere else. Our get together for 6 people was an expensive mess.

This was our first experience at this restaurant and we will not be back. It took 30 mins to get a soup and it was luke warm. Our meals which took an hour to get to us were both not hot and mine had a hair in it. The table behind us sent their food back because it was not hot enough. The whole experience was horrible but it did not ruin my birthday.

Cons: poor service, poor food quality

We went for the brunch and it was great! The beef was perfect and the stuffed turkey was wonderful. Shrimp, eggs made to order, sausages, chicken, meatballs, fruits- a very full buffet!
The staff was unusually friendly and cheerful. A great dining experience. We'll go back!
We got a senior citizen discount that was very generous and I had a $5 coupon from their website.
Made my day!

I ate here a few months ago and the service was great, but the food wasn't. The food was okay, but for the price I expected more. I had heard a lot about this restaurant, but if felt like I was back in the 50s and I didn't see many young faces. I will probably not go back.

Owner is a poor businessman. Used an expired gift certificate (which we were told over the phone they would accept). After getting the bill - almost $100 - was told we could not use it.

PROS: We had a great waiter and the food was okay
CONS: Mac & cheese had the consistency of boxed and owner never showed his face

The problem with this place is not the food, but the way it is set up. The Red Mill is obviously a converted house, so there really is no good place for a long line to stand waiting to get to the buffet. Picture thanksgiving dinner in a house that is too small and a family too large. Now multiply it by 1000 and you have the fiasco that was the buffet here. To make matters worse, the person running the buffet had people start at both ends of the buffet table. Brilliant! Now people will hit each other in the middle of the table, and then need to cross each other to get to the other side.

Perhaps on a normal day (not mothers day) The Red Mill is much better. I simply don't know.

PROS: I guess the food is ok
CONS: Way too crowded and poorly organized
