I will never go here again. That butcher is rude, no personality and the store manager didn't care either about my concern. The butcher closed his section one day @ 6:50pm and when I asked him if I could get something from the butcher shop, he said "NO, I ALREADY PUT THAT STUFF IN THE FREEZER"!!! I complained to the store manager and he said well he closes at 7pm. After cashing out and loading my bags into my car, I noticed my clock showed 6:59pm. That store sucks and so does their workers.

Market in the square is a nice place to go if you are looking for local produce and don't want the size of major grocery chains. Produce and meats are usually comparable prices to large chains, while the boxed and canned goods can be a little more. Overall it is a nice atmosphere and less hectic than a major chain.

PROS: local produce, cheaper produce and meats
CONS: more expensive boxed and canned goods

The prices of the produce is exceptional and they have a wide variety of products. You do have to go in early to get the good stuff though. Plently of cashiers, and their meat and cheese corners help you find just what youre looking for.

PROS: great prices, plenty of cashiers, friendly
CONS: sometimes you have to go in early to get the good stuff

Great for the deli, meats, and bakery, but not so good for regular grocery items. Overpriced on those. But they have to make their money somewhere, right? Ample parking lot and easy assessibility. The store is kind of dingy and could use a good cleaning. The bakery rocks.

                  PROS: Deli, bakery
                  CONS: regular items overpriced

Market in the Square is located in the Southgate Plaza at Union Road and Seneca Street. The Market in the Square is smaller than a supermarket, but they carry a broad variety of goods in the space they have. Their meat department is the best in town, prices are fantastic, and the deli people are friendly and efficient. The butchers shop is also great, prices on meats are very, very good. The meat is always fresh and delicious. They have many everyday specials, including buying 1/2 lb. of lunchmeat, and receiving the other half free. They have a wonderful little area to sit in and buy coffee and fresh baked goods. The baked goods are out of this world! A great place for everyday shopping.

This store is great on prices and has a lot of in store specials not advertised. Good selections and good produce. My only complaint about the store is the floor always looks so dirty and it's so dark and gloomy inside. t's got a lot, selection wise for being a smaller store so I keep going back but wish they could improve the look...but then the prices would go up!

PROS: good prices and good selections
                  CONS: looks dark and dirty

We live about 15 to 20 miles from Market in the Square, but it well worth the ride a couple of times a month to save on groceries. We may have spent $5 on gas, but we saved about $75 to $100 on meats and produce.
The meats are of a good quality, as is the produce. The staff is friendly and helpful, all registers were open and moving quickly the day we went.
The bakery is also of a good quality, as well, and very affordable.
I highly recommend this market to anyone in the area. Even if you have to drive in 50 miles, come in once a month and really stock up, you'll save tons of money.
They have a website so you can check their weekly flyer: www.marketinthesquare.com

PROS: Great Prices on Most Everything, has website to check weekly specials
CONS: can't really think of anything...other than it's a small place
