Sripraphai Thai Restaurant is fantastic

by Nanette K. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 611

Rated tops by Zagat and totally deserved, this is one of the best Thai food festaurant I have ever eaten at. Often packed, including with tour groups, but able to accommodate large crowds since their expansion. Thelarge menu, including many vegetarian options, offers the usual Thai fare, though the taste is definitely a cut above the usual, as well as less commonly served Thai dishes, each of which is a real taste treat.

famous Thai

Sripraphai is probably the most popular Thai restaurant in Queens. You know you've made it big when foodies trek in from Manhattan just for your delights. I've also seen tour groups eating there. I've been going to Sripraphai even before the current Woodside location. It just to occupy only 1 store front, but they have since expanded to 3 and updated the store with a modern look. They offer the best selection of Thai desserts, either to eat at your table or take away. Some dishes that I like are: all things yum like yum woon sen (vermicilli noodle salad), tod mun goong (shrimp cakes), grapow gai/moo (chicken/pork stir fried with basil), soup naw mai (bamboo shoots salad located by the desserts shelves). The restaurant is BYOB. If you like it Thai spicy, be aggressive about telling them to make it REALLY spicy

PROS: good thai eats, extensive selection of thai desserts
CONS: service not too personalized since they're so busy and big (now)
