We have been very happy with Monster Mutts. We have left our dog there for 7 days at a time and have come back to a happy, healthy, clean dog. They are accomodating with their pickup and dropoff hours, clean , and well-priced

Sometimes the staff is confused about things, but we never care because our dogs adore coming here. They always pull me when we walk towards Monster Mutt and are so happy when we pick them up. This place is great fun for social dogs and it is kept clean and organized. We'll be coming back.

Pros: Dogs love it!

Cons: none

The people who run this place couldn't be sweeter, I really like how they handle their customers and their owners. The problem here is overcrowding, they often have way too many dogs in their care. Also, all of the facility is indoors, they have no outdoor play area and the dogs do their business inside. I have left my dog here for last minute emergencies, but I prefer to leave him with friends or relatives if I can.

I have two dogs and they both love going to Monster Mutt whenever I go out of town. It's always so hard to leave them but now that I've found Monster Mutt it makes being away so much easier and helps ease my guilty conscious. The staff is all very lovely and seem to care very much about my pups.

Monster Mutt staff do a great job of 'intervewing' dogs before they become regulars. A great practice that ensures all the dogs are well behaved, thus keeping your dog safer and happier while boarding. My dog was not happy to visit originally - she was a stray who was scared of other dogs. But the kind staff and good atmosphere have turned her around. She's now happy to visit and play and I know she's well taken care of.

My dog hasn't been going here for very long, but he loves it and scratches on the door to get in. The staff is extremely nice and always gives me a full report when I go to pick him up ("He played great for most of the morning, but got a little pushy in the afternoon so we had to give him some time to rest.) My dog always comes home happy and very tired. I feel totally comfortable leaving him there for daycare and boarding him there for overnight stays. I think some of the negative reviews might be coming from people who just have different expectations for the kind of environment they want for their dog. But when I watch my dog play at Monster Mutt, he always looks so happy!

My dog has been going to Monster Mutts from the time they opened in 2001. He LOVES it there and he is a big dog. I have never seen any aggression as is indicated in a prior review. The staff love the dogs and it shows. He comes home happy and tired from his day of play.

I was not shocked to read the negative reviews about Monster Mutt. I stopped by to buy some treats for my new puppy, and look for daytime care for her . The older woman running Monster Mutt was more concerned with my child playing with dog toys on the floor than the overcrowding and chaos that was occurring behind her in the dog holding area Stay away!!!!!!

I took my dog to Monster Mutt occassionally when I had to go out of town and usually dropped the dog off first thing int he morning or late at night. When I recently went to pick the dog up in the middle of the day, I was shocked to see how overcrowded the place was and how horrible the conditions were. I also later found out that the place was closed for a time due to a large Kennel Cough outbreak!

I have heard from several people that the cramped conditions have given their dogs sensory overload and that they come back aggressive.

I should have know better the first time I dropped my dog off when the staff seemed to care very little and only wanted to shove them in and shove them out. Lesson learned: trust your instincts!!!! There are much better places to go in Brooklyn than this one. AVOID!!!!!

i had a terrible experience with monster mutt. although the people there are extremely nice, i feel the environment isn't healthy for dogs. especially bigger dogs. too many of them crammed in such a small space. i never saw them playing, always just standing around and barking.

i took my dog (a black lab) there for a few weeks and she developed very aggressive tendencies. which is very unlike a lab to do. i started having trouble with her at dog parks and she even attacked another dog while at monster mutt.

she also became sick shortly after starting at monster mutt. nauseous and looking lethargic. the staff didn't inform me that there was 'abug' going around until after i questioned them. i was very disappointed with their professionalism in this case.

i stopped taking my dog there and she has thankfully returned to normal. not one aggressive incident or any sickness since then. although i enjoyed allowing my dog to hang out with other dogs during the day, i feel the environment made her (and other dogs) overly anxious.

I used to use posh pets in park slope.. but they seem to be getting more and more sketchy. I heard about the dogs that had been harmed there and wound up leaving. I found monster mutt through a friend. Im glad I did. they are the sweetest people.. Hannah you are really a nice lady. thanks for your day care. Sally

Monster Mutt has totally changed my experience of having a dog in the city. The staff is helpful, the facility is clean, they have training classes, and most importantly, my dog loves going. He runs up to say 'Hi' to dogs I've never seen before and it always turns out they've 'met' at Doggie Daycare. I love that you can see into the space where the dogs are kept, a lot of other kennel/daycare places seem to be in hidden basements or backrooms. The only downside is the screening process - although I guess that's a good thing in the end, but you can't just walk in with your dog and expect to leave him/her that day.
