So this is the third time in 6 years I've tried this place. The first two times were for facials which were OK...this time I went for a hair cut. Not so great.

I asked for a senior stylist because I have coarse curly hair that is hard to style and I'm not sure I got one. There are a few of things you don't do with curly hair...1) wash it before you talk to the client 2)cut it wet 3)cut it with a razor 4)add product when it's almost dry. All of these things were done to my hair. I was asked to wash my hair before anyone had even looked at...how are you supposed to know what my hair looks like dry? It shortens 3 inches after it dries! Then immediately it was hacked into with a razor...now all I fell at the back of my head is fuzz. Then a bunch of product was added when my hair was alomst dry...my hair was tousled on top of my head (no styling) and I walked out looking like a mop.

On top of all this I had to listen to the stylist bad mouth thier previous clients. One girl's appointment was messed up and she was upset...but they were blaming it on her and not even trying to accomidate her. The other girl wasn't told how much a blow-out was and she was a little upset...but it was her problem as well. I work in customer service and understand that clients can sometimes aggrivate you, but you don't bad mouth them in front of other clients. Very unprofessional.

Ay least I didn't pay $80 for a bad hair cut...because now I'm going to have to pay to get it fixed.

Seriously...if your curly don't go there. Pay the extra for a DevaCurl expert somewhere else.

I've been to the best places in the city searching for a colorist and have spent so much time and money trying to get the right color for my hair. And now I have found it.Rudi gave me the color of my dream and I fell in love with my hair color and style. I've finally found a hairdresser who's experienced , professional and kind. My hair looks amazing, and I've gotten so many compliments. I will definitely recommend Rudi and Space Salon to all I know. It is worth it. Thank you Rudi! You are the best of the best.

I'm very hard to work on since my meds really mess up my hair color-RUDI did foils that blended in all the different colors I have and it looks awesome !!! I was watching all the workers there and they all do great work.
What I didn't like was that I didn't get to see what exactly I was being charged for and I have a major problem with that. I think I was also charged for a consultation for a facial (which I did not do., how much do they charge for consultations anyway?)and not wanting to be rude cause a customer kept talking to the receptionist I just paid the bill and left. Truth be told I'm so happy with my experience-it was worth lots more. Cost me $141 and some change.
I would suggest this place to anyone. I for one will make sure to see the breakdown of charges I'm billed for next time. Rudi is a 10 star on a rating of 1 to 5. I rated 4 star only because I didn't see the bill and that was not her fault-the receptionist grabbed it fast.

i went there to work one day and didnt bother to go the next day. From a different perspective i dint go to get my hair done (never will) i applied there and had to turn them down. the people there are rude, except for two stlylist that looked and acted profesional, but the rest their clients would leave and right away you heard the comments they made reffering to thier clients. it was disgusting!!!! I WOULDNT RECOMMEND THIS SALON TO ANY PERSON IN THEIR RIGHT MIND.

Loved my haircut! Trust me, I have been trying to find a great salon since I moved to Astoria from the south in December. I have tried several differant places and no one really wowed me..... I am so glad to have "finally" found a great stylist! Stella was great! She knew eactly what to do with my hair. Two thumbs up to Space Salon! Keep up the good work guys!

Stella is one of the hairstylists at SPAce whom I have known for years and she never fails to amaze me with her talent as an artist...what I mean by that is simply she has an eye for what will be best suitable for her clients...She has been the only hairstylist whom I've grown to trust with my hair and I have never told her what to do I simply allow her to "FREELANCE" on my hair...now how many hair stylists can you say that about? Not many!! I have recommended her to people and they were also pleased with the results. I will say this much she is WORTH EVERY PENNY you will not be disappointed and once you walk out of SPAce heads will turn and you will receive several compliments, as I have experienced. If you want a HOT yet ELEGANT look and be in the latest fashion that will have heads turning she's the hairstylist to go to...she will know exactly what color and cut will best suit your features!!

I've lived in NYC for 15 years, and have had my hair cut and styled all over the city at top salons, including Bumble & Bumble, Kiara, and others. I moved to Astoria and thought I'd try SPAce. Let me tell you, this salon and CHRISTINE are as good as it gets. I've left so many other places dissappointed for having a cut that isn't great or not quite what I wanted, or technically sub-par...However, Christine gave me a GREAT cut, and invaluable haircare tips that I still use to this day that no one else has ever give to me. AND I got all this for 38 bucks. THIRTY EIGHT BUCKS. UNREAL. Fast forward a few months later --I now live back in Manhattan, and I had my bangs trimmed at an upscale midtown Manhattan salon about 30 minutes ago, and I am so angry with myself I didn't wait to go to Christine at SPAce when I had the time. This Manhattan stylist did such a HACK JOB and I paid so much more $ for this amateurish trim than SPAce would have charged. I am really angry with myself I didn't just deal with the Astoria commute and get it done RIGHT for half the PRICE. Bottom line? Whether you live in Queens or any another borough, SPAce and Christine are WORTH the trip. Christine I will be back to see you soon!

I've been going to Space for a little over 6 years now. I was never the type to stick with one salon or one hairdresser more than once... until I went to space and met Edna. She always knows what to do and totally understands how I like my hair cut, colored, and blown out. Most people would think these are simple enough things to do, but you'd be surprised. In addition to Edna, I've also sat with Nycki to get my makeup done for special occassions. She does incredible work... Nycki is the only person I will go to for makeup! It not only looks natural, but stays on all day... from the end of our 10am appointment to 1 or 2am when the parties were done. I loved how it looked in pictures.
And I'd like to add a note about the customer service... phenomenal!! I recently went for a hair color appointment and for whatever reason it didn't take as well. It just kind of blended in, rather than cover, my stray grays. No big deal... but they insisted I can come back to redo the color at no cost to make sure I was happy. Not only did they want me to come back to make sure the color was perfect; but Bob, the owner, had the front desk receptionist call me to see if I was okay with the service and when I'd be coming back. When I called to reschedule my appointment, after a short time on hold, Bob actually got on the phone to assure me it would be taken care of and again, just wanted to make sure I was ok. I went back to get the color 'adjusted' and it looks great. I was so happy with the color and the blowout... and all done right before my New Year's Eve party. I got so many compliments. So to make a long story short after all of this... GO TO SPACE. Great customer service, caring and friendly staff, EDNA IS MY FAVORITE and if you need makeup.. GO SEE NYCKI!

After reading her positive reviews, I recently booked an appointment with Nikki to have my hair trimmed. I have short hair and told her that I liked my current style and just needed a trim. She seemed to understand what I wanted and proceeded to start cutting away, while my hair was dry. After she was finished, I had an entirely new hairstyle. It is much shorter than my original cut and is noticeably uneven! And now the back of my hair sticks up in a strange way (it didn't before) and the front is too short to tuck behind my ears (which is how I told her that I liked to wear my hair). I am hoping that my hair grows out soon so that I can have someone else fix her disaster of a cut. Beware!

I went to Space for the first time after hearing several recommendations and I?m so glad I did. My stylist, Stella, was completely understanding of what I wanted (I went from long hair to a super short cut), and even offered suggestions that I happily accepted. She was very friendly and made me feel really comfortable even though I walked into the salon pretty nervous about the cut. I?ve never been so immediately pleased with a haircut, I walked out beaming, and almost a week later I?m still really excited about my hair. I highly recommend this salon, try to get Stella if you go, she's great.

I recently moved into the neighborhood and needed to find a new salon. SPAce Salon looked like a great place to try out so I made an appointment. Stella cut my hair and I think she did an excellent job. I wanted about two inches off with long layers and that is exactly what I got. She also made a suggestion to thin out some of the bulk in the back of my hair and I agreed. It made such a difference! I walked out with a cut that made my hair look healthy and shiny. I'll go back to Stella at SPAce when it's time for my next haircut.

CHRISTINE,I loved her.I went for the first time on a Saturday, I wanted highlites and she spoke about the color and how much of them I should put in my hair,i'm glad she is able to actually listen as well as give me her professional opion.I loved them,.She also gave me some tips on how to keep my hair in great shape,she did not push products on me,and I liked that alot.I will book a haircut with her in a couple of weeks,I told my friends about the salon and they too will be seeing CHRISTINE!!!!The price was reasonable and the salon was up to date.

My mom and I both had facials with BarbaraLynn this Saturday and we both left entirely relaxed and with radiant skin. BarbaraLynn is attuned with the customer's need, knows skin and skin types. I highly recommend her. If you're a fabulous 40-something try the exfoliating facial; it was a a little pricey but a religious experience and I have the smoothest skin to show for it.

I just went to Manny at Space Salon & Spa and will never go anywhere again. I've been to the best places in the city searching for a colorist and have spent so much time and money trying to get the right color for my hair. And now I have found it. Manny took the time to listen to what I wanted and gave me his professional opinion. He gave me beautiful blonde highlights and even put in some low lights and I fell in love with my hair color. He also gave me a great haircut. I've finally found a hairdresser who's experienced and professional.

but I ended up with a cut I don't like, which I don't quite understand. I've also never written a citysearch review before, so bear with me.

We talked a bit first, and I described that I liked to have my hair rather short in back (so I can spike it up a bit), and then a tad longer on top so the curls have a chance to, well, curl. I had walked in with a short style that had grown out too far: the top curls were sticking out the sides, so I asked her to fix it up again. She was quick and confident in what she was doing, but I feel the result is too short and sticking out at the sides again because my thick, curly hair doesn't lay flat and I now get little wings at my ears. (Not quite long enough to tuck behind my ears, as I had done before).

At the end of the cut, she did a quick rinse to get the little cut hairs out (which I greatly appreciated!), and then double and even triple checked that the lengths on each side matched the other and that there weren't any uncut chunks hanging out. I'm a bit confused because she was extremely thorough and wonderful to work with, but I just don't like what I ended up with. I can't decide if it's because I was unclear in our initial discussion, or what, but now I just have to wait for it to grow out a bit more.

So I have a mixed review. Nycki is all the things one wants in a stylist: personable, asks questions and offers suggestions, and very thorough in double checking at the end and even washing the little hairs off your head and neck. Maybe I just don't like the style because it's so different than what I had before, or maybe short curly hair isn't her specialty, but either way this isn't what I was expecting. All that said, a good friend of mine with curly hair got a cut from Nycki that she LOVES, but her hair is middle-length, not short like mine. I guess my advice would be to know what you want and be able to explain it clearly. I guess my mistake was not being clear, or not bringing in a photo or something.

I've been going to Space for about 9 months and Rudi is the best! She saw the mess of color my hair was when I first came in and reassured me that she could fix it and she did! I've had my hair cut by her many times and she knows exactly what works with my face and personality. She has taken the time to get to know me so now I just let her do her "magic''. I used to have anxiety about getting my hair cut, but not anymore. Her blowouts- depending upon my mood and the event- range from straight to "Farrah" syle 70's, for fun. She has done my "big hair' for a Halloween costume and recently did my hair for my wedding day! She really knows how to make me feel and look beautiful. When my husband notices and says it looks great, then I know she's really the best!

I went here because of the high reviews and scheduled with Stella because everyone here was gloating about her. She destroyed my hair! I have very long hair and asked for two inches off with subtle layers. I walked out of there with the top half of my hair up to my chin. What the f**k?! This will take me forever to grow out. DO NOT BELIEVE THE OTHER REVIEWERS. I think it is friends and family writing these "glorious" reviews. I will be avoiding this place at all costs. There's a reason why it's so cheap. I've learned!

I had high expectations of this salon since a good friend goes there and says good things about her hairdresser. I found the atmosphere to be very impersonal, unfriendly in an odd sort of way. There are too many chairs so that you are nearly touching the person next to you, too. Oh, and when the customer next to you gets the hairdryer, so do you; you're that close. I had bits of my hair, and maybe theirs, fly in my face and up my nose a few times. Not cool. The stylist I had asked me what I wanted done to my hair. I explained that I didn't like short hair on me, I came in with hair about 4" long, and didn't want to go very short (I'm a guy) and she nodded, proceeded to cut, and answered my small talk questions in one or two word responses. She wasn't very personable, didn't introduce herself (I had even made an appointment beforehand), and didn't talk to me. That's fine, I'm thinking, I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and chalk it up to her concentrating on my cut. I ended up walking out of there with hair about 1.5" long, if that. She worked on the back and sides first, so I wasn't aware of exactly how much was coming off. By the time she hacked into the top of my head, it was too late. I got home and had to fix the areas by my ear that she basically missed. I had a 6:30pm appointment on Friday, so maybe she just didn't give a sh**. Worst haircut, ever. Thanks for ruining my weekend, Space Salon.

I found Kanna two years ago and I will never go to another hairdresser ever again. When Kanna moved to Space Salon, naturally, I followed her- she could move to the moon and it wouldnt matter- I would find a way to travel there. Kanna is the undisputed best at hilights and cuts I have ever seen- my hair is naturally a dark brown- but I hilight it blonde and it looks natural. Add that to the way she cuts hair and it is plain to see she is truly a master at her craft. My husband sees her, my sister sees her, my friends see her- all agree she is the best and will not consider leaving. Space the salon is nice, clean and courteous. Overall a good expericence- add Kanna into that mix and you can do no wrong. Call up- ask for Kanna and you will never use another stylist again!

I have been going to Adela for 7 years because she is just that good , fun, energetic, talented, and has more personality than anyone I've ever met. I usually just give her carte blanche with my hair, and I am always thrilled with the result. When I do have something in mind, she gives it to me, without making me look like I'm trying to hard to be a clone of someone. As long as you are honest with her as far as what's been done to your hair in the past, she will give you results that people ask about. She has a knack for mixing color in a way that looks natural, and yet "supernatural" at the same time. Obviously, I can't say enough about Adela and Space Salon I'm hooked, what can I say?

Let me just preface this by saying that is 26 year old gay man has had his share of facials! This way by far the best facial I have ever had. Sometimes when getting a facial, I wonder, "Are they really doing anything up there?" NOT with Barbara. She was not afraid to get down in there and clean out! WHEW! I know I'm getting a good facial if my eyes are watering. Barbs made me cry for Jesus! Let me say though, she was always checking to make sure the pressure was suitable for me and also if i was comfortable with everything she was doing.

Look, bottom line. Dont wanna trek into Manhattan for a facial?? STAY IN ASTORIA. GO TO SPACE. ASK FOR BARBARA LYNN.

I have been a client at SPAce for over 15 years thanks to the expertise and understanding of Stella. Actually, the entire staff is pretty wonderful. I have my hair done every 8-10 weeks. Every time I call, Grace, the receptionist, knows exactly who I am and makes me feel like family. She knows what I need and who I want to see.
Once I arrive for my appointment I NEVER have to sit down and wait. I have always been able to go right for color. Stella has a very good knack for mixing just the right color for my skin tone. Helen usually puts my color on and does a great job, even leaving a little leftover for my eyebrows.
After all this great service I finally sit in Stella's chair. She knows me like a book. When I say "cut it" she knows exactly what I mean. I've had long hair forever. She has kept my hair healthy through endless color changes and highlights. And even though I loved my long hair only Stella could inspire me to cut it short. (We tried a modified version of the Katie Holmes/Posh Spice style.) Stella is very precise. She will work on my hair, both in the cut and the styling, until she is satisfied. I am never rushed out of her chair.
Going to SPAce has always been a pleasant experience. When I lived in Astoria it was also very convenient. Now I live in Seaford, Long Island and still take the drive to Astoria because it's worth it. I give SPAce 5 stars-service, staff, affordibility, ambiance and Stella.....the brightest star of SPAce!

After going to one salon in the Astoria area and always leaving disappointed, I jumped on Citysearch to find another place, hoping that the reviews would lead me in the right direction. They did. I called SPAce on Monday and had an appointment on Tuesday with Stella. The receptionist was really rude at first and I felt like she had better things to do with her time than help me out, but I was kinda desperate. Luckily that was the only negative experience I had, because as soon as I walked in and met Stella and told her what I wanted, she listened and did a great job. Helen, who I guess is a jack of all trades and helps out there, is also really awesome and just all around makes you feel really welcome and comfortable. I'll be going back for color and cut, for sure.

The SPace salon is a delight! Although it is a trek to Queens, it is well worth the effort. At SPace you get Manhattan quality service at a bargain price! Additonally, the staff exudes warmth and professionalism. Even though I was an hour late to my last appointment, I was able to see my stylist very quickly.

Nicki , an outstanding stylist, makes each visit a pleasure.She listens attentively and provides great, down-to-earth beauty advice and expert hair styling without pretense.

Be sure to make your way upstairs to enjoy the wonderful ambiance and spa services.I strongly recommend Barbara Lynn. She is exceptionally personable and provides excellent spa services.

SPAce is a little out of the way if you are not an Astoria resident, but for the prices and the attention to service, it is totally worth the effort. Went on a busy Friday around lunchtime for a 1/2 hour scalp massage from Barbara Lynn and haircut from Nycki. The place was packed with female customers (only one other guy there at the time), but the staff was super-efficient and super-nice (especially Grace, the ultra-friendly front desk person).

The upstairs Spa area is a relaxing oasis from the energy downstairs, with dim lighting and soothing sounds. Here I had a scalp massage from Barbara Lynn, which is a terrific pre-haircut or anytime treat at an extremely reasonable cost (full disclosure: Barbara Lynn is a friend of mine). You know immediately that Barbara Lynn is an expert and that you are in skilled and caring hands (literally) when having work done by her. She is communicative, attentive and receptive to your needs for your treatment, and always ready to explain every aspect of your treatment to whatever detail you want.

My experience with Nycki for a haircut was just as terrific. She listened to what I wanted for a haircut and gave a few suggetions too. Again, Nycki was obviously very skilled, and seemd to be abslutely attentive to me, even with the commotion of business all around us. Although I admit it took me some time to get used to the new style she gave me, now that I have lived with it for a few days I absolutely love it! Never had a better cut, and you just can't beat the price!

If you want to get quality treatment and are sick of being robbed by Manhattan "spas" and salons - definitely pick up the phone and make an appointment with SPAce. It is absolutely worth the trip!

This was absolutely the best facial I ever had. Barbara Lynn made me feel completely relaxed and comfortable from the start. She knew exactly what I needed - I went in with dry, problematic skin and came out with a soft, smooth glow that has lasted for days now. Barbara Lynn is very knowledgeable and also very caring about her clients - it comes through in everything she does. The hour was over all too quickly and I walked out feeling soothed and rejuvinated. I am recommending Barbara Lynn to everyone I know, and I am very much looking forward to my next facial.

I went to Space on the recommendation of my boyfriend's sister and her boyfriend ... who, by the way, are both in the theater industry and thus must be conscious of their appearances. I was not disappointed! The salon is very clean, the staff is friendly and Stella is a rockstar when it comes to highlights. She knew exactly what color I wanted with very little explanation. I have very thick hair that is difficult to style. She never made me feel bad about my pain in the neck hair and even offered great advice for managing it.
I was also pleasantly surprised when I got to the desk and received my bill. It was quite a bit less than what I was used to paying at a mall salon in Maryland! Overall, excellent service and pricing!!!!!

I initially went to Space because of all the good reviews. I live in the area so I was thrilled at the idea of having such a great salon within walking distance & the prices seemed perfect. I love everything about the salon -- location, environment, stylist....everything until I had to pay and was always given a reason why my bill was higher than the advertised price. The first time it was my initial consultation fee, the second time it was that my hair is very long (just past shoulder length is very long to them) so more color was used than normal which they charged me for, the next time was another consultation fee because I hadn't been there in 6 months, and so on -- but they all seemed to make sense so I paid. My haircuts were never out of this world but I loved the convenience. I finally gave up on them when I took my sisters, also my bridesmaids, for a pre-wedding cut/color....the prices were all over the place. I paid a total of $440 for 2 colors and one cut -- no blow-outs. I never post negative reviews but they really deserve it - I have no idea how their pricing is based and the sneakiest part is they wait until you are done and at the desk to spring it on you. If it had been a $20-25 difference then I would say "It happens", but instead it was always more along the lines of $50+. Make sure to confirm exactly how much everything will cost you even if you think you know.

I've lived in Astoria for 22 years now. I have gone to salons in Manhattan, but nothing compares to your neighborhood place. I was very pleased with the cut and color that Stella gave me. She is very outgoing and she listens to her clients. I was always vey nervous whenever I get a haircut from other places, but since developing a relationship with Stella I always feel comfortable that she won't go scissor happy. ( I have long hair, and I like it that way.)

After going to salons all over Brooklyn (where I was originally going to get my hair cut) and Manhattan (where I went to find a curly hair specialist), I ventured in to SPAce Salon & Spa in good old Astoria. A few of my girlfriends suggested I go to Lacey because she was honest, hip to new styles and super personable. I've been hooked on Lacey for 4 years, and I wouldn't dream of going to anyone else. I'm a stickler when it comes to my hair - hair obsessed - and if I ask Lacey not to cut more than 1/4 of an inch - she does so. She always listens to what you want - and if you'd like to try something new - she's always up for it. I recently wanted to switch things up, so I decided to get some more layers in the front. The cut looks amazing, and I've gotten so many compliments. Lacey took the plunge with me, and I'm so glad I let her do it. In fact, if I could post a picture of my beautiful new do - I would. Everytime I go for a cut, I ask Lacey if she's noticing any grays...luckily, not yet...but when the day comes...Lacey will be coloring my hair too! See you soon; I'm due to trim the bangs and refresh my cut in a few weeks! xo

I have been going to SPAce since it was Giorgio's, but about four years ago I decided to change stylists and Lacey had come highly recommended by a few friends. I was nervous to go to someone new for my cuts, color and highlights but I have to say, it was the BEST decision I ever made! Lacey is very honest about what will and will not look good on me and I value her opinion. Sometimes she's suggested cuts that I was unsure of but since I trust her so much, I would go with it. I was never disappointed. I get so many compliments on my color and highlights and how natural they are and how everything compliments my overall look. I've actually recommended several of my girlfriends and they've been equally satisfied. On another note, you know how you go to some salons and the atmosphere is very cold and the stylists barely speak to you??? It can be uncomfortable. It's not like that with Lacey. She is very friendly, always asks about my family, my job, and how I'm doing. It's a high quality salon with a neighborhood feel. Thank you Lacey! See you soon for a root touch-up!!!

I was very nervous when I went here last week because I kind of knew what I wanted and how I wanted my hair cut but I knew if I said it out loud, it would confuse even the most experienced stylist. I wanted to cut my length but I wanted to make sure that it wasn't too short.

I had read another review that recommended Stella and I was not disappointed!!! She listened to me and gave me a bob but the ones that are real hip these days. I was so happy with my haircut!! I had actually made sense to her.

Go see Stella for an amazing cut!! I will definitely be coming back here!!

I guess my expectations for this salon so too high since I read raved reviews from this website. I got Lacy as the hairstylist and it seem she was too busy having an intense conversation with her co workers about online dating than asking me, her client, what type service I came in for. I made an appointment for an wash and blowdry and I almost got an haircut. I'm so proud of myself for paying attention. The result came out good, but she didn't put any hair products on me. Word of advice: If you decide to go to this place, spell out what you are there for several times, especially if you sense that the female staff are conversing in dating, men, tight apparel, etc.

This Astoria salon and spa is a great local find. I went in for a facial with Barbara Lynn. We went upstairs to a quiet, tranquil spa space, a world of difference from the bustling saloon on the ground floor. I immediately felt relaxed and at ease. Barbara Lynn had a really gentle touch and soothing manner. She used a lot of different products on my face, all of which felt really good. The facial included a hand/arm massage too. I've had other facials where I was brought to tears with pain over picking blackheads. None of that here. Barbara Lynn took me to that magical place of complete relaxation. My face felt smooth for days afterwards. Quite a treat!

I tried out several different hair salons in an effort to find "the one." A coworker recommended Adela and I've been thrilled with every color she''ve given me! She is my favorite (I trust her completely and always leave my hairstyle up to her judgement). After my last color two friends went and had their color there too. (Five people from my office now go.) It's great, and the cost isn't astronomical either. Not dirt cheap, but well worth it! See you soon Adela !

Adela really is the best colorist in NYC - without the attitude! I went to Adela for the first time 2 weeks ago after my regular salon/stylist couldn't seem to get my blonde color right for my skin tone. I had gone from dark brunette to blonde about 6 months earlier and it was just too yellow for my taste. Adela took a lot of time to really study me and formulate a plan for both color correction and new highlights/lowlights - the end result was amazing color that perfectly suited my skin tone -- it looked completely natural and I have received a number of compliments since my appointment. She also made sure I had the right conditioning treatments so that when I walked out of the salon, my hair was in better shape than when I had arrived. And on top of all that, the customer service at Space Salon is great. The receptionist , I think her nome is Grace ,was very friendly when I called to make a last minute appointment and, because I had to work late, Adela let me come for my color treatment an hour later than normally allowed. This meant that she and her assistant had to stay later than normal to finish. Despite the late hour, Adela worked diligently to ensure my hair color and conditioning was done to perfection. They really went all out - even for a new client like me. If you're trying to achieve the perfect hair color, look no further - Adela is a miracle-worker! In my experience, she could be charging twice her current rate. For color in New York City - expert color ,applied with a friendly, informative attitude - is a real bargain.

I've lived in Queens for a year now and haven't been able to find a place to get my hair done that I've liked enough to go back...until now. I found Space salon and spa online and decided to go for it as it has gotten really good ratings. I am so glad I did. Everyone that works there was so friendly and made my experience so enjoyable. Stella cut my hair and I am absolutely going back to her from now on. She is brilliant!! I had long hair and was getting a short cut so I was extrememly nervous. She was so sweet about the whole thing and actually cared about what she was doing rather than just chopping my hair off and kicking me out like so many places do. I love my hair cut, she did such a great job and I would recommend her and this salon to everyone. Everyone complimented me in the salon, and it was so affordable. It was a great experience overall. Check it out, and if you are getting a hair cut, you have to go to Stella!!!

I am a long-time client of Space Salon (formerly Giorgio's) for over 14 years but I had not really tried the spa services. Barbara Lynn was awesome and provided excellent service and was took her time to analyze my skin and give me tips about skin care. Its great to have professional spa services in Astoria!

I found SPAce three years ago on citysearch, and I absolutely love it. Kathyrn is amazing for haircuts. Laura for massages and facials! I've had facials at Elizabeth Arden and Laura's are far superior.

I recommend that you immediately pick up the phone and book an appointment with Barbara Lynn. I had never had a facial before and was a little anxious because I didn't know what to expect. Barbara Lynn put me right at ease. There was even a point during the facial that I was so relaxed my mind stopped running over life and became quiet (very rare!). Not to mention that afterwards my skin felt soft and smooth. She also took the time to teach me about my skin type and the best ways to care for it. I have been following her instructions and recommendations for a couple of weeks and my skin still feels clean, soft, and smooth. Thanks soooooo much Barbara Lynn!

Barbara Lynn Cantone gave me a great facial. The experience was gentle, relaxing and most of all effective! My skin cleared by 50% following the facial. Barabra Lynn gave me concrete and informative feedback on my skin's composition, as well as great advice regarding steps that I could take to improve my skin care and health overall. She is knowledgeable, compassionate and very good at what she does. She made great recommendations regarding skin care products that I have been using since the facial and have contributed even more to an improved complexion. Barbara Lynn is the best! And I strongly recommend her.

A friend of mine gave me a card advertising a special on Wednesdays at Space. I live a little far away so I almost didn't go but the trip was well worth it. I have had other facials before where I leave looking like a red tomato. This time my skin was calm and my acne scars looked much less noticeable. I was really surprised! Laura took the time to do the extractions where I really needed them but she was not rough. Even the next day my skin was smooth and even. Laura did a back massage too and I felt myself almost falling asleep. She really knows how to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. I really did not want to get up off that table. I plan to go back as soon as I can to keep my skin looking fresh. So, ladies, if you really want to take care of your skin AND relax see Laura at Space. She is worth traveling for.

I had the best European Facial By Angela!
Angela was so experienced, I was delighted with the experience and the result. I was and felt rejuvenated, and my skin was clear, shining and refreshed for days. Definately worth it!
Angela was friendly, very accomodating to my needs, and made me relax and enjoy the facial immediately.
The whole procedure was clean, refreshing and uplifting.

I called this salon on the reccommendations of citysearch users and was scheduled for an appointment with Manny. My experience was basically impersonal and unattended, as Manny seemed in such a rush to get out of the salon he did not listen to my requests for the style I was after. If you are in search of a young, hip short style, like those that are so in vogue right now, do not go to this salon, and especially do not see Manny. They seem to give really generic styles, not tailored to the customer. As for the price, I paid over $120 for a cut and color that I am embarassed by. No joke. Not reccommended. It is a pretty salon, and perhaps if I'd had a different stylist my experience couldve been better. Still, not sure you should take your chances.

I had never had a facial before the one I had from Barbara Lynn, and I always wondered what all the fuss was about - why would anyone bother? Well, now I know - I felt as if I had relaxed for the first time in my adult life!
What a transcendent experience - this lady has healing hands! I felt myself letting go of every worry and negative thought in my head - and days later, friends were still commenting on how terrific and glowing my skin looked - I looked great, I felt great, and I couldn't believe how long the beneficial effects lasted. I really feel that Barbara Lynn is an artist - she has a great, gentle but confident touch, and a wonderful, caring attitude.
This may have been my first facial, but it definitely won't be my last! Thank you, Barbara Lynn!
