I went to the salon twice to make sure because I have heard so many good things about it. I was given the WORST highlights in the history of hair twice!!! The stylist insisted that she put gloss over the highlights even though I begged her not to. Anyway, after months of not being seen in public or having my picture taken, I have finally recovered from the $$$$$$ and am ready to try somewhere else. I would give a negative star if I could!!!

Pros: Omm they can use a round brush and a blow dryer...

Cons: VERY PRICEY FOR NOOOO REASON AND THE COLOR IS TERRIBLE!!!!!

I won't let anyone but Daniel touch my hair. I've been going to him for over a year now, and he always makes me look beautiful. My blow outs always last for at least 4 days. His cuts and color are amazing as well...I always trust his judgement and leave so happy! The salon is cute and the girls at the desk are so friendly too. I love this place!

One name: Naeemah. One word: Fabulous. Naeemah Carre did my bridal updo and it could not have come out better. She was a pleasure to work with, both during my trial and the day of. She??s got a sense of humor and great personality that makes you feel at ease while she is doing your hair. But let??s not forget: her work. She exceeded my expectations in every way. For my trial she did my hair precisely as I wanted, and beautifully, with close attention to detail and overall shape. She maintained communication throughout the entire process to get my input as to how the overall hairdo was coming along. As a result, it was perfect.

Fast forward to my wedding day: It had been over 6 months since my trial, so after having browsed through numerous wedding mags in the course of planning my wedding, I had come across hair photos that were a little different from my original updo idea, and wanted to incorporate those looks into my hairdo. I myself wasn??t sure exactly what I wanted, but I knew I wanted a mixture of my trial hairdo and a few new photos that I showed Naeemah. She created a work of art, a sculpture of perfection on my head, incorporating all the elements I wanted to add since my trial. My hair looked amazing, and it was thanks to her, her creativity, and her talent. In all of my photos, it looks great. Naeemah (and her shining smile) was also on time, and worked at the perfect pace??which, as any bride knows on that day is much needed.

It was such a relief not to have to worry about my hair throughout the wedding, and whether it looked good or whether I was keeping it in position. It maintained its shape through high humidity, rain, getting in and out of a car, and going up and down stairs??lasting the entire night. She armed me with numerous pins of various sizes in case any wisps of hair should come loose. My guests and family were in awe, and complemented me the entire night on how beautiful my hair looked. Even my husband (and we know men can??t tell an updo from a pony tail) complimented me on it and said it looked really great.

If I were to have another wedding, Naeemah would be doing my hair, hands down. And if any event in the city calls for an updo (a friend??s wedding, perhaps??please?) I will use Naeemah.

Thank you Naeemah! I hope we will meet again soon.

I love the whole concept of the salon, the place is so cute and cozy.
My stylist Vince was AMAZING !!!!!! I can't tell you how hard it is to get a fabulous blow-dry that last and last.

At first when I met my stylist I wasn't too sure about him because he seem kind of young and I thought to myself he must be inexperience but he proved me wrong! He gave me exactly what I wanted and he was so professional and courteous. I was literally Blown away.

The only thing that bugged me was that you can't leave a tip on your card. Cash only.....

I would highly recommend seeing Vince if you want an Amazing Blow-dry.

I live close to the salon downtown (14th street) and went for the first time this month. Unfortunately, I was in a rush, the girl I had, Marylynn, had me out in time (I have a good amount of hair, it only took about 45 minutes). She was very friendly, as was the receptionist who checked me out while I was getting my hair done. I wanted flowing waves, kind of like Jessica Simpsons but not as big, and I looked great!! I got so many compliments at the event that night I went to, I'd definately reccomend her. Making the appointment was easy, only one days notice-which in the city, can be hard to find. It only cost me 50 (some range more or less depending on what your hair is like.) Cute place too, they do the manicures while you get the blowout; I didn't get one that day but I'm sure I will next time. Perfect!

I had an incredible experience at BlowSTYLING SALON. I am an African American Woman and my stylist was able to style my hair with no problems and the results were exactly as I hoped for. Doug was my stylist and his demeanor was pleasant and professional. I like the ambiance and the diversity of the personalities represented in the staff. Afterwards, I decided to get my make-up done and Cheryl, the make-up artist did an amazing job. She really knows her colors and did an excellent job blending colors creating perfect shades of foundation and lipstick. I never write reviews for companies or services and I'm a demanding customer and expect the highest caliber of service. BlowSALON delivered. I have another appointment during my next visit to NYC. The only reason I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5, is so that they're not too busy for last minute clients like me ;)

I tried many of the hair stylist and each one pulled my hair harder than the last. I always leave with a terrible headache. They keep your credit information on file, without permission, and without prior notification charge your credit card if you are late or need to cancel an appointment.

Although the prices have gone up so has the service. Amazing stylists and an overall great vibe. I have been going for years and have nothing but good things to say. I always leave feeling transformed and get many compliments on my hair. For the price and service it is one of the best deals in town. Heard they opened uptown and cant wait to check it out.

As a diehard fan I am pleased to report that the uptown salon is just as awesome. I had a blowout with a girl named Nayeema and she was great. My hair looked great. Big and bouncy waves that made me look like a new woman. Also - it was half off my first visit and they offered me a free manicure. Love it!!! I work around the corner and will be back for sure.

I live in the neighborhood and have been going to Blow for basic blowouts since they opened a couple of years ago. The original pricing was quite reasonable ($30) , and then they expanded their services from blowouts only to manicures, waxing, color/cuts, etc. The price then went up to $40, a little higher but still a bargain considering the quality and convenient location.

Then about a year ago, I stopped going when an appointment I had confirmed several days in advance was cancelled last minute and without explanation or apology. This was done on a Sunday night, too late to book something anywhere else, right before an important meeting. Not good!

I finally decided to give Blow another try last week and received a good blowout, but was a little surprised when the cost of the service came out to be $52 (before tip) this time! I think this is kind of exorbitant considering the wash and blowdry took less than 20 minutes all together.

My regular place for cut and color is a professional and trendy Aveda salon and the (very good) stylists there charge $55 for a haircut with blowdry, so I will be going there from now on, sadly.

I'm not the type who usually goes anywhere but my regular hairdresser for services, but when I needed a quick blowout and found myself in the neighborhood, I decided to try this place. I am SO GLAD I did. Not only did they fit me right in, but I got a blowout that was just as great as my regular guy at half the price. And everyone else there had a huge smile on her face. One of the manicurists was free to fix some chipped polish, and I even ended up buying some hair clips in the boutique. Every woman I saw there walked in normal and walked out a minor goddess. I plan to start coming here regularly. An amazing, fun, place that provides a great cure for "blah" hair.

After reading reviews and visiting their website, I expected this place to be highly polished and professional. Instead I found it to be a local neighborhood storefront with a pared-down "beauty parlor" feel. When you consider the price (I paid $40 since I was able to take advantage of the mid-day special) and the fact that all the stylists do is style hair - you would expect experts who can analyze hair type and face shape in order to yield the most flattering results. Instead, the stylists seem to have the talent of salon apprentices.

My stylist brought me to her station, handed me a robe and then walked me to the washing stations at the back. They shampoo with their own brand. I told the stylist I needed my hair done for a photo shoot and showed her a picture of the look I was going for - a look which she was not quite capable of re-creating. The end result looked flat and not flattering to my face & my hair usually has lots of volume. I had to re-direct the stylist to make adjustments, but the end result was not as good as it would have been if she had started the job correctly from the start. The one highlight is the T3 hair dryers. Don't waste your money here. I regretted not trying the local salon a few doors down that was advertising the same service for $30..

I have been a loyal customer of this salon since its opening, and I have had a few different stylists. I have to say my favorites are Blanca and Serita. They are both so nice and my hair never looks better. If I get it done anywhere else, my hair doesn't feel as nice, shiny and healthy as it does here. And they are so quick! (take it from me, i have been getting my hair done 2 to 3 times a month for years.) The only drawback is that they recently raised their prices from $35 to $40 and up. I still recommend it though, and the manicures are pretty good, too.

I had my hair blown out by Blanca - she was great! Not a lot of conversation, but she really took the time (over 45 min) to make sure my hair was exactly the way I wanted it. The blowout she gave me ended up lasting 2 days (until I washed my hair) and it was perfect! There were some other clients with different stylists who came and went while I was there, so I know that Blanca really took more time than some others. The shampoo was OK, not great, but the blowout was fantastic! Also, the 'receptionist' staff was really warm and friendly.

I went for a blowdry at XOBlow and it was the worst I've ever had. The stylists name was Giselle. She did not listen or follow any of my instructions. She got the parting on the wrong side and despite my request of having my hair out of my eyes that's exactly where she put it. She was nice enough for conversation but as skill this was worse than what I did at home when I let it dry on its own. All of this for $40 plus tax/ tip. I suggest if you go to this salon do not go to Giselle. Or just do your own hair at home. It'll be better.

Just got home from getting the most AMAZING blowout! My hair has never looked more beautiful, and I have seen a lot of hairdressers in my time. The stylists at there really know what they're doing. Not only are they really nice, they made me feel really comfortable and took the time to understand what I really want. After 4o something mins (for only $40) my hair looks as good as it has ever looked. And now I'm ready for a night on the town. I highly recommend this place. And judging by the crowd, I'm not the first to discover this little jewel in the Meatpacking District.

I went in a few weeks ago to have my hair done for pictures, and I walked out looking like a movie star. This place is amazing and EVERYONE was so nice and welcoming and totally unpretentious. As soon as I got there, one of the owners (Julie) came over and introduced herself to me - at first I thought she thought I was someone else, but I realized she did that to everyone. How nice that an owner can really appreciate everyone that walks through her door. The woman that did my hair is Laura, and my hair NEVER looked this good. It was shiny and it had bounce. Needless to say my pictures came out perfect!! Almost all of my friends go there now, and I'm patting myself on the back that I found it first!

Do not come to this place. The service is terrible. My stylist became irritated when I asked her to dry my hair completely - she told me I was ready, but my hair was still damp underneath. She got annoyed and angrily snagged at my hair with the brush and dryer until it was completely dry. By then my eyes were watering from how badly she pulled at my hair. Terrible

The first time I went to Blow I went with my cousin. We had such a fun time! She got a beautiful Farrah-esque blow out while I opted to have my frizzy hair tamed stick straight. We even got manicures during our blow outs. The entire staff was so sweet and accomodating. We were in and out in an hour. I've been back a couple of times and each time was as cool as the first. I definitely reccomend for pre-date preping or an inexspensive pick me up.

I wouldn't recommend this place to my enemy. I was looking for a good, inexpensive blowout in my neighborhood and was really excited about the prospect of Blow. Instead, the woman who worked on me soaked the back of my sweater while washing my hair and didn't apologize. She gave me major attitude when I asked her to put product in my hair before drying it and then proceeded to angrily pull my hair with the brush and sear my hair with the flat-iron. I called the next day to find their pr person and left a message about a complaint. No one called back. Don't waste your money here.

If you need to straighten your hair in a hurry this is the place to go. The prices are not bad considering the neighborhood. Last time I checked it was around $35. They usually accommodate walk in's if you don't have an appointment and can usually get you out of there in at about an hour.
