I used to come here all the time but it's just too expensive. I practically don't have any money left to pay the rent so I stop.

I wish I can come back because it's a nice vibe there, the interior is that of a yacht. And the food

I'm into seafood, so I had to like this place. Prices are great, friendly staff, terrific meals... Can you ask for more?

Impeccable food and service! Yes, even the house salad was incredible. Very lively restaurant - not for a quiet conversation.

Let me preface this review by stating that I do not nor have I ever worked at Lure - I am simply a VERY satisfied customer.

I had wanted to go to Lure for a very long time and since I had a friend in from overseas decided to finally give it a try. We went for lunch and our experience from reception to dessert wine was exemplary. I am a huge fan of raw oysters and these were by far the best I have had in Manhattan. You do not have to order the most expensive item on the menu to be blown away - you should see what they do with their simple house salad.

As for the service you couldn't ask for a more personable experience - from the host to chef I rarely have felt more welcome.

I urge anyone on the fence to give Lure a try as I am quite sure you will not be disappointed.

    Buon appetit!

I really cannot even express what happened at that place... In a nut shell: worst food, worst service and the worst general manager on earth: Is he High!!!

I lived in Soho for years and this place is the best. I went a few months ago for my 40th Birthday and the manager, the chef and the entire staff treated my friends and I like we we're A-list celebs. Great cocktails, unbelievable raw bar, amazing sushi everything a girl could dream of. I was away all summer and when I went back in the chef not only remembered me but was generally mad that I hadn't come in to see him for 3 months. That's how personal the service is. You get the cool vibe, great people watching and great food you expect in Soho without the attitude and without the outrageous prices.

my experience was bad........B A D. I love lobster rolls so i was going around a few places in the city that supposedly serve good lobster rolls...anyway i call the bar and ask for help getting there at about 11:10AM and the lady on the phone asks me "where are you" i say, "one block away"..."ok so just head north two blocks", so i show up around 11:15 and she literally looks surprised to see me as if we werent just on the phone and i ask to order and she says were not gonna get set up now , but at 11:30 and i am mad cause im thiking, greatt i gotta go meet someone in half and hour and i came here for nothing, so i ask her, "then why didnt you tell me this when i was on the phone with you" and she goes "do i look like a psychic to you? no, so either you can wait or leave" ...well anyway i came back a week later , and finally tried the lobster roll, which i had to wait for FOR-EVER , and it definately wasnt worth the wait-it was average, nothing"wow" and the chips were so deep fried and saggy that they were just wet from that oil so no i dont recommend this place.
And the weird eyed receptionist at the front (same one from before) saw me come in the second time, around 12 and she was talking with some guys , saw me ,looked at me and started talking again so when i motioned myself to the bar to order, she ran over saying "umm excusee me can i help you" as if i was lost- hellooo wheres the customer service people want? and who does she think she is?

come for the fish nothing else, added the rancheros as my wife was most upset and now eating fish on the back of them. every cloud and silver lining comes to mind.

perfect location hidden deep down away from the millions,
a real gem and a lifesaver from endless shopping.

prefer the bar than the restuarant and excellent staff always make you feel welcome

enjoyable decor and atmos. my pal's sis has a relative the is managment this place so we are coralled to go quite frequently, we don't get any crazy hook ups but my friends do order well on the apps and I was impressed. the vino flows and the main fish dishes were extremely nice. I would go back (although I have to) of my own volition and would recommend.... Calamari was a stand out item, shrimpie something was also the bomb on the app menu. enojy.

After reading the mixed reviews about this place, I was a little sceptical about going here, but decided to give it a try and see for myself. I came here with my date on Valenetine's day and it was great. The reservations we made were on time and we were quickly seated at our table after they took our coats. The atmosphere was relaxed and casual. The music was not too loud. The decor was beautiful. The waitress that served us was very helpful. The yellowtail-jalapeno rolls, Salmon Tartar, California roll, crab cakes, crispy calamari (spicy!), and the seared yellfin tuna were all very good. If you're into seafood or sushi then I do recommend trying this place because you might just very well end up liking it here, if not loving it . The cocktail drinks were okay but not great, but they have an EXTENSIVE selection of wine. The food is pricey but very tasty.

The people who gave this place 5 stars must work here because my experience has been the same as everyone else that gave this place a bad review. I made reservations here and before we sat down they told us that we only had an hour and half to eat because they had another party arriving and wanted the table ready for them. For a place that charges such a premium, you would expect better service.

    Take your money elsewhere.

Rude staff, terrible service. Toward the end of our meal the host asked us to leave, saying he had been fair letting us have our table so long. With no warning, no apology, no thank you, we were kicked out of the restaurant! The manager comped our after-dinner drinks but we couldn't enjoy them anyway. We will never return. Also the happy hour oysters were very small and fishy (old). Go to the Docks or Grand Central for a much better experience.

Been there a dozen times and it keeps getting better. People watching is A+. Lots of entertainment industry types from the neighborhood and celebs flowing in from the Mercer Hotel across the street. And with good reason. Manages to be upscale Soho without the snobbery. Service always makes me feel like an A-list guest myself. The decor and the tunes create a hip cruise ship vibe. I never miss the blue points oysters and/or the stone crab claws; both are decadent. Got help on choosing a reasonable Bordeaux sans the usual condescension. Overall the menu is an inventive mix of traditional seafood fare and sushi with a formidable steak au poivre (a Soho staple) thrown in for good measure. Sounds simple but think?who else offers a "something for everyone" upscale menu like that? Crowd pleasing menu and scene makes this a great, great date place. I've been eating in Soho for 20 years and Lure is by far my favorite spot.

Dinner was ok. the apps were the best part. My husband had raw oysters which looked good. I didn't have any because I am pregnant :( I had grilled octopus for apps - delicious. I had Brazino fish as my entree which I have never had...it was good - light, fresh and clean but a bit on the plain side. Came with a small side of sticky (?) rice. It was ok but i was still hungry. Maybe I should have gotten some sides. Husband had Daurade fish...it was whole but filleted. Everything was fine. We were having a pleasant evening until the very end. We paid our bill which was still on the table for the waiter to collect and my husband was just finishing up his wine when the waiter came up to us and told us that they need the table for someone else who has a reservation!! I was so mad. We had a reservation as well and if they needed that specific table they should have sat us elsewhere or at the very least tell us that that table will be needed at such and such time. The point is we were about to leave why even say anything?? It was just a bad decision on the waiters part to even say that to us - poor timing. We complained to the manager but he was a waste of time as well. I wasn't expecting a free meal...but a sincere apology!! I would say dont bother going...there are a lot of other NYC seafood restaraunts that are better in quality and service. Go to Blue Water Grill....better service and better food!

Leave it to the staff at Lure to take ALL of the "happy" out of the supposed happy hour experience... The food & drinks here are great, but the service is a deal breaker.

The entire time our group was eating, drinking, and trying to enjoy ourselves, multiple staff members kept sternly reminding us they'd be kicking us out of our booth when happy hour ended, regardless if we were not done or were still willing to order at regular prices.

I wish I could take back my tip from last night. They are so unacceptably rude..

This place has the feel of a cafeteria despite the boat decor and thumping music. The food isn't particularly good or inspired, and I was a little aghast that a place that calls themselves an oyster bar served me oysters that were barely shucked. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone unless you're a tourist or don't mind spending a good amount of money for subpar food. There are so many better places in NYC. Don't waste your time going here.

this place is beautiful, modern decor. the happy hours menu is great, you can't find $1 oyster anywhere in the city. i've been here a few times for happy hours and the food is great. the oysters were fresh and delicious. great staff but they rushed you after happy hours is over. Happy Hours-5pm - 7pm at the bar section.

I resisted this place for a long time because I loved the restaurant that inhabited this space before it was LURE (loved those funky orange chairs). However we stopped in one saturday evening for a drink. LOVE the all wood interior and curved ceilings that make you really feel like you are on a yacht. The bar is a happening spot and the bartender was great at letting us sample the wine before pouring the whole glass. We went back 2 weeks later for dinner. All of the food was very good! The restaurant was a little drafty on that cold night but the hostess moved us to the bar area which was better. Service was fine, no complaints. This definitely is one of our new fave places to duck into for a glass of wine when we are in Soho.

Went the other night with a group of friends and had an amazing time. First of all, really cool design. Secondly, we went to the bar and had this killer Concord Grape Martini and then another and another... We then tried several apps, some suprisingly good sushi and some entrees which we all shared and raved about!!! The service was very attentive and laidback and the music wasn't the standard loungy I hear everywhere variety. Can't wait to go back!!!!!

Feel free to come here if you don't mind having your check thrown in your face and being told to leave the tables at the bar when 7:30 rolls around which is shortly after the 7pm Happy Hour deadline. Other than that the drinks are cheap.

i've never had oysters in nyc that were so old and un-fresh before. i couldn't believe it. i ate 3 each of 3 different kinds, one was even local, all were terrible. it's offensive that they wouldn't have thrown them out. and then the fish i had for my main entree was overcooked and dry, but a pleasure in comparison

I had another nice meal at Lure today. I've eaten here 3 or 4 times in the past - never had a bad meal. Great fish selection and oysters. They serve sushi - but I've never tried it. My girldriend and I started of with a few Honeydew margaritas (we requested them "up" like a martini), the shrimp cocktail and the Crispy blue point oysters. Entrees: Grilled whole branzino and the Roasted Halbut with ginger-infused artichokes and sweet peas. It was all delicious, nicely plated and expertly served. The meal clocked in around $130 (the martinis were $11 each) with tax.

We wandered in to this place by chance, and were so happy we did. Everything we had was delicious. The yellowtail carpaccio was subtle and lovely. The spicy scallop and yellowtail-jalapeno rolls were suberb. Attentive, friendly service too. The only thing that even approached mediocre were the cocktails... tasty, but too sweet (we had the strawberry basil and tangerine ones). But other cocktails have gotten good reviews, so I'll try others when I go back, which I definitely will.

This past Friday I was supposed to go to Babouche but ended up here (long story- DO NOT go to Babouche (across the street) their service is horrific). We walked in around 9:30PM and they had a table to sit all 8 of us. We were in the righthand section - a little more private - which we liked. The hostess, waitress, and busboys were all friendly but not subservient or too saccarine-sweet. Their menu was pretty standard- the salmon I hear was very good, I had the lobster roll - their bread is delicious!, tuna was just OK i hear. They have the best lychee martinis - they make theirs with gin and cucumbers which gave a very unique taste. They have a good wine list and a sommelier on hand if you're not sure what's what. Prices are like the SoHo area, a little expensive, but you're paying for the area. Overall the food was good (but perhaps not very memorable), the service was great, and I will definitely come back if I'm in the area. Decor is decent but nothing special. Dessert- the berry-topped cheesecake came with pink grapefruit!, the chocolate molten cake was fab, their fruit sorbet was also very good. Good experience.

My husband and I tried Lure for a wedding anniversary celebration and had a wonderful evening. The staff clearly made an extra effort to make the occasion special for us, knowing it was our anniversary. I thought the service was a very nice mix of competent yet discrete/not overly solicitous, which set the tone for a relaxing and romantic evening. Plus the food was delicious (yellowtail sashimi with green apple a highlight) and the space beautiful and well thought-out. We will be going back -- and not just for special occasions.

Plus the food was delicious (yellowtail sashimi with green apple a highlight) and the space beautiful and well thought-out. We will be going back -- and not just for special occasions.

Go for the cool interior, have a drink at the bar, then go eat somewhere else. Food is not bad, just dead average (think City Crab at SoHo prices) and service is ambivalent (except for the busboys). Despite the place being half-empty when we went (a cold wednesday night) 4 of us were dumped into a small table in the center of the room (even though we had a reservation, and while roomy booths sat empty or occupied by twos), given an inept waiter (forgot to tell us specials, topped off a neighbouring table's glasses from our bottle of wine) and a procession of food that lacked any 'wow' factor at all, despite spending a few bills and trying multiple dishes from every section of the menu (sushi, raw bar, apps, mains).

Although I always read reviews here before going to a new restaurant, I've never written one but I had to for this place. Went tonight (restaurant week) for a girls night out but had to bring my 1yo daughter. The review says it's not baby friendly, but when called, they said they were. Usually baby friendly means they have at least 1 high chair so I didn't have high expectations. A trendy seafood restaurant in Soho is not someplace you typically bring babies but I did and had the best service ever. The entire wait staff was wonderful. The chef came out and greeted us. He asked if we needed anything special for the baby and even shared a picture of his new 7mo old on his cell phone. The manager was very attentive and brought over a small bowl of rice for her plus a small spoon (he offered, we didn't ask). They were even great about helping to warm her bottle. Overall, they made us feel welcome and made our dining experience wonderful. All my friends (non-mothers) were also impressed w/their service. And the food and ambiance were wonderful... would definitely go back!

Went for dinner recently, the place is buzzing, and the food is OK, but that's about it. It's all just average, whilst the desserts were just terrible and lazy.
    I won't go back.

I had heard about this place from a friend of mine - rock shrimp tempura for $6 during happy hour! I had to go. First I checked out their site to look at their menu and I found so many tasty appetizers on their happy hour menu along w/ discounted drinks that I immediately invited my friends to meet me there. We went on a Wednesday night, so we didn't have to fight anyone for a seat. We were actually able to secure a booth for the 3 of us. It was a great place to catch up with girlfriends. I would recommend the fried oysters and the lobster croutons. Although the rock shrimp tempura was good, it did taste a little seafoody...I would still order it again :) The service was not superb, but hey, it's happy hour, what do you expect? Will definitely go again!

Took some co-workers to Lure the other night and had a fantastic experience. We had great oysters, first rate sushi and some killer cocktails followed by a nice bottle of wine. We had this awesome waiter, Timmy, who steered us in the right direction and made sure everyone had a wonderful time.We also really digged the decor!!

We ate here the other night and the food is ok, but the so called "sommelier" (who I looked up and turns out has no credentials except jumping from one restaurant to another) was extremely rude and obviously had no idea what he was talking about. Just trying to push pricey bottles, and badmouthed his coworkers as he was doing it! Nice to have a meal out and have to listed to waitstaff complain about their restaurant!

The last time my group was here was the night of the unfortunate conflagration, so we had just ordered our food but had evacuated before we could enjoy our meal. Going back last night, everyone including the host, waitress, sommelier and chef warmly thanked us for coming back. We had an AMAZING meal from the Fevely chablis, osetra caviar deviled eggs, dill salmon tartare, the special squid ink tagliatelle seafood special and wahoo, to the yummy ice cream sandwiches, warm choc cake and the ice cream/espresso biscotti (forgot the name) dessert. The roll and sushi offerings were also excellent. The design of this restaurant is truly unique, just like you're on a yacht. Be sure to ask for one of the leather banquette tables. We'll definitely be back.

After passing by this restaurant a million times, peering through the nautical windows on Prince Street, I finally dropped in for a couple of happy hour drinks with a friend. At around 5 bucks a pop, there's a whole delicious assortment of fun drinks like the watermelon margarita and tasty morsels like the mini lobster cakes. The interior design is beautiful and fitting without it being so cliched trendy that it overshadows the food. Leave the trendiness to the crowd! Lots of fashionable and young 20 to 30 somethings gather here and the bartenders seem to love it.

P.S.- The riesling IS really good. I confirm it.

A friend took me here for my birthday recently, and the sushi was terrific. I especially loved the house roll of soft-shell crab. Additionally, our waiter was the nicest guy. Yummy, warm mixed berry crumble with vanilla ice cream for dessert and a round of drinks on the house! I definitely want to go back and try the ice cream sandwiches and lemon terrine.

Second time we dined at Lure and we had a great time. The ambiance was great, music was spot on and the food was awesome. The feeling of the place was fun and the server was amusing and knowledgeable. Menu had a nice mix of the classics in addition to a killer tuna tiridito. Loved the Jalapeno Yellowtail sushi roll.

Honestly, the whole boat theme is a little tacky. It was interesting to sit below street level, but I could have done without the decor. The food was actually quite good. However, the service was poor and the portions wouldn't satisfy anyone who isn't on a diet. Overall, just not worth the hype/price.

I work in a service industry and eat out between 3 and 5 times a week on a corperate budget. the service was fine and the decor is nice. however, there was 10 of us, and all 10 went for pizza after the "meal." Appitizers($20 each)were no larger than a cubic centimeter (no exageration). my $40+ entree was literally a 5oz piece of fish on a stark white plate, nothing else (not even a garnish) i left starving! each of us had a glass of wine, an appitizer, and an entree,it was $95 a head (before pizza). i must admit, what little food there was to eat tasted pretty good, not great but good. overall it was expensive and frustrating, i hate leaving an expensive meal hungry! even my wife (105 lbs) was hungry when we left. conversly the pizza place down the street was delicious, cheap, and filling.

The fish was absolutely phenomenal. Two of us went, and we both had the grilled swordfish, and it was simply amazing. The wine list, while comprehensive, it way overpriced (I believe the cheapest bottles started at $52, which is high even for Manhattan). The food was slightly overpriced considering the portion sizes, but the preparation and taste is to die for. The theme of the restaurant makes you feel like you're on a boat, it's a definite change from the ordinary manhattan restaurant. Contrary to other reviews, the service was ok. Nothing extraordinary, but not terrible. The restaurant is ideal for large parties, they don't have a lot of tables for two. The bar area looked very nice also, and it was quite full.

I love the 'lower than street level' setting. The windows act as portholes as if one was on a gigantic cruise ship. The interior design was very well planned. Fun cocktails, an excellent wine list and innovative food, what more could you ask for from a restaurant in SoHo? The food and service was stellar.
