I hate to bash an establishment. I believe that some places could be wonderful and still you may have a bad experience. The chef/cook may be having a bad day. It happens. But my experience at NY Luncheonette was beyond an 'off-day' disappointment. First: An appallingly small egg white vegetable omelet: the broccoli and onions were raw - completely raw. Raw broccoli is difficult to eat in an omelet. There was barely any egg white at all. But here is the best part: only one egg white, but accompanied by a thumbnail-sized piece of egg shell! I am not kidding. Second: Literally a few tablespoons of home fries. Okay, no big deal. I am watching my carbs. I am not one to send my food back. I usually deal with it and resolve not to go back there. I know I am eating at a high rent diner near the Waldorf, but there was no excuse for the final insult: the bill! A whopping $15.00 for this disgusting, inedible mess. Yes, this egg-shell, one eggwhite, raw broccoli and onion tiny serving with toast, NO MEAT, only 1 cup of coffee was a whopping &15.50!!!!!! How are they still in business???
