I went to De Lido today and am so thrilled with my high lights. Irena is so talented and sweet and it was a wonderful way to spend my sunday. After many years of being ripped off at other nyc salons I am very grateful that I found Delido and my hair is so beautiful!!!

Ok, Sam is now at Nick and Sam 743 9 AVE. I used to go to Lido, and it was "eh". I didn't walk out crying, but I didn't walk out going, "yes!" I saw here that sam had moved, so I went to his salon. Sam did my cut once at Lido, and he got it right. I was ready to try again.

At Nick & Sam, it's great. It's affordable, they're nice, they're fast they did my highlights at the last minute for a GREAT price (when I say great, i mean amazingly great), they threaded my eyebrows VERY WELL for $9. I would just say, make sure Sam watches the timer and not the others in the place when coloring. Or speak up if you think you've cooked long enough. I wanted copper, and while it turned out pretty darned copper, some of the pieces were blonder than I wanted. I felt I could have stopped cooking a few minutes earlier and hey, this isn't Oscar Blandi. BUT the cut he gave me still gets compliments weeks later, it stands up to the test of a good cut, and the highlights DO look fab. I'll be going back. ANd not to El Lido.

After coming to this salon countless times and trying just about everyone, there is only one stylist who has left me satisfied fully every time. Julia works fast and efficiently, you can really tell she knows what she is doing. Not only is the quality of her work magnificent, she has one of the best and light hearted personalities that makes it a joy to sit in her chair. If you want to leave more than pleased with your hair, I definitely recommend Julia, do not take your chances with anyone else.

Sam is fantastic. He cuts and colors my hair every time I am in NYC. I called today for an appointment next week. They told me he is not there anymore. Is he at another salon...if so, where???? Thanks, I'll check back here!

I used to be a model so I would pay top $ for hair cuts in NYC but after hearing about Sam from a friend I will be using him from now on! He is great with short hair and long hair - I have recommended him to 3 of my friends already. I have never been disappointed!

I've been going to this salon for years and think its a my favorite NY secret. Kate is the best!! She always gives you an amazing hair cut. It grows out nicely and i am able to style it on my own without hassle. She isnt a chatter box which is a relief but she is super friendly and willing to talk with you as little or as much as you like. I've sent nearly a dozen friends to her and they have all been completely satisfied. Good Luck!

Bonus - the cost of cut and blow dry is reasonable. Somewhere around the $45 range...

I have been in the city for several years and this is the first time I have truly been happy with my har.

I was going to the salon for a couple of years and some cuts/color were good some only okay but never horrible :) But Irena gave me a great cut and color and strategizes with me on how to prolong the times b/w coloring so I don't ruin my hair or my finances.
SHE ROCKS!!!

The hair stylist, Sasha had a very bad attitude and rushed an unfinished job. She rushed through the haircut, and told me it's finished when lots of cut hair on my forehead. I complained to the manager who gave me all kind of excuses. Don't waste your money and time! Go somewhere else.

I have been going to De Lido for 3 years. After 6 years in the city, I finally found the best hairdresser! He is so fab. He listens to you and will do the utmost to do what you want, and the best thing is he likes long hair and will not cut it too much, he will only cut what is the absolute necessary to keep your hair in tip top condition. He is a super star. He is quick to cut but does a good job and if you have curly hair, does an amazing job on blowing it straight and going over with the irons and does not rush at all. He makes sure its properly dried (this I have had bad experiences with in the past) I have recommended him to many of my work colleagues and friends, and each one of them has gone to him and has loved what he has done. They all go back to him. Oh, to the girl moaning about them speaking in their own language: do me a favor, are you really in there to chit chat and have a conversation and know what they are talking about..who cares. You want your hair done thats what you are in there for. Sorry you had a bad experience...my suggestion go back and ask for Sam or his sister.

I first walked into De Lido after I'd had my hair absolutely ruined by a high end salon that will remain nameless. I sat down in Sam's chair, and after that day, no one else will ever do! He fixed my hair (which not only made me look old but was actually uneven) and made me feel like a movie star. Also at half the price of that original hair cut! Since, I have been to him for many more haircuts, color, and style and couldn't be more happy. I recommend him to all my friends, and no one has ever been less than thrilled. Go there!

whenever i walked by, i noticed that this place was empty, and now that ive been there, i understand why. The stylists are rude and unprofessional. Everyone walks around speaking Russian right in front of you and doesn't seem to listen or understand when you want to ask questions or make suggestions. Thank goodness i didn't try to get color done, they did the worst blow-dry, i can only imagine how bad they are at everything else. Stay away from this place!

I had recently moved to the area and went to get my hair done at De Lido. I never thought that anyone could make my hair look so good and charge so little! The day after I had my hair done, I bumped into a friend of mine whom I hadn't seen in a couple of weeks...he thought I was a celebrity! I didn't wash my hair for days after, I didn't want to ruin it :o) I think the hairdresser's name was Irena. She listened and gave me her advice too. The color couldn't have came out more perfect. I was very happy with the service and the end results, and am definitely going back for more! I recommend this place to every woman out there who wants to "stop the trafic with her looks" without emptying her wallet!

I've been to this place a few times, they make very good hair cuts but not very good with colors. My friend went there for highlights and was dissapointed, not at all what she had in mind, despite explaining very well what she wanted. If you want nice haircuts, go there, good prices...

The owner of Praba Salon actually referred me to this place. She has nice hair so I trusted her, but was still a little nervous trying out a new place. I just wasn't happy with my old place since my girl left. Ivy cut my hair and she's like a little "Edward Scissorhands"! For about $45, I got a cut that compares to salon cuts that I've gotten for $100. Ivy really listens and she did an amazing job on my hair.
