The fish is first-rate and traditional. From Toro, Fresh Sea Urchin in the Shell, Spanish Mackerel to Monkfish Liver, there are few other places in Brooklyn where you can find the sheer variety of fish that Iron Chef offers. Also, a customer can enjoy 40 different kinds of creative rolls along with well-known rolls. Besides offering some of the best sushi, Iron Chef also features a selection of tasty and filling tempura dishes, delicious soups and a range of traditional main dishes.
Great Sushi!

We've been coming here for that last year at least once a month. Its our favorite value for your buck destination. We always order 3-4 rolls, 2 appetizers and 2 alcoholic beverages and always end up paying around $60 tax included. The portions are larger than some other sushi restaurants we've been to and the service is always top notch. It's a cute, cozy place that would be great for a first date.
Pros: Delicious sushi, great service
Cons: none

Decent enough to bring a date.
by klavieress
Personally I am quite picky about sushi rice, and personally I feel that Iron Chef haven't mastered the technique yet. However if you are not as picky about the rice, they do a decent job otherwise. I recommend seared tuna or sashimi for appetizer.
Pros: decent neighborhood restaurant with interesting decor.
Cons: limited space. Waitresses are in a hurry to clean up the table and give you the check.

Good food, but inadequate service
by coqui729
Husband and I stopped by for lunch and were received rather poorly by the wait staff. Food was good, but it doesn't make up for the service. Next time, we'll go to Hibino.

Best sushi in NYC!
by otroyansky
This is the best sushi i've ever tasted! Hands down - no questions asked. Their rolls are HUGE & are filled with so much flavor, that it really hits you hard. Small space makes for a great date place or a family dinner.
Very attentive service! I would recommend this place to absolutely anyone who loves sushi. Plus its a short ride from the city...totally worth the trip! Check it out - you will NOT be dissapointed.
Pros: everything!
Cons: none that I can think of

Simply Fabulous!
by yytim
This place is amazing, good price, cozy ambiance, and fantastic food. The sushi is very creative and almost each sushi dish is prepared with house special sause. They recently opened another restaurant in Park's Slope, on 5th Avenue & 2nd St., called the Jpan Sushi, it's another "must-eat" restaurant.

by drpersianversion
Those reading my reviews may think I overinflate...but...when I'm picking the restaurant...I put a lot of research into it...and prefer high quality food rather than high quality hype...my friend picked this place...it was most adorable....ambiance wise and their sushi menu was phenomenal...so many creative options ...and well...they certainly delivered with presentation and quality....I LOVED THIS PLACE!!!
Pros: sushi, ambiance, cozy and unique decor
Cons: location

by babybubba143
my husband and i came to this place about 2 months ago and loved it. last night we went since i was craving it and we couldnt believe the horrible service we got. right when we got seated i ordered tea and it never came. i reordered and still nothing until i finally begged the waitress again. they didnt get our order about 20 mins for our food. luckily our order came in time and the sushi and food is amazing but the service needs improvement. my husband was so disappointed that i dont think we will be here for awhile.
Pros: food is tasty
Cons: SERVICE IS THE WORST IN BK HEIGHTS

The Most Imaginative Sushi
by kjpic
Honestly, I think this tiny place has the best sushi I've ever had. It is always fresh, the owners are incredibly accomodating and the spicy monkey roll is the best thing since sliced bread. You do not have to spend $300 per person to dine on the best sushi. I truly hope they open other restaurants. Their "Ocean Roll" is amazing as well. Their rolls are nothing like you've seen and the presentation is really beautiful.
Pros: Rolls, Inexpensive
Cons: Tiny, Parking is difficult

Top Notch
by lawskoolsucks
I have been frequenting Iron Chef for about a year now. Every single time has been absolutely phenomenal. The sushi is amazing. The service is extraordinarily quick and extraordinarily friendly. It is a great place for a date. It is a great place for a casual dinner too. My only critique is that the tables aren't spaced very far apart so it feels like you are eating with the couple next to you at times, but the restaurant is very small and always busy, so they have to do what they have to do...do NOT let that stop you from giving it a try. A+
Pros: Great sushi, Great service, Great Atmosphere
Cons: Not a lot of space

BEST SUSHI IN MYC!!!!
by mscurlybangs
I have been to many expensive sushi places in NYC, but this place beats them all in every category: Quality, Service and Price. I absolutely adore the salmon miso soup, it alone is enough to fill you up and it really hits the spot on a cold night. The house rolls are excellent, you can't go wrong no matter which you choose! The hardest part is deciding what to get because everyting is soo good! The portions here are bigger than anywhere I've seen and the prices are beyond reasonable. This place is very small and it packs up quick, your best bet is to go late and miss the dinner crowd. This is a primo first date spot!!!!
Pros: Food is EXCELLENT, Service is superb, Very reasonable price
Cons: , Can be crowded

EXCELLENT!
by brooklyngirl28
The sushi is incredibly fresh, the rolls are creative and tasty, the service is fantastic (so personable and sweet) and it's very well priced. Everytime we have out of town guests and a chill night where we want to stay in Brooklyn, we bring them here. We also come all the time and order out. Huge fans!
Pros: sushi, service, prices
Cons: , is a little, inconsistent

Best in Brooklyn
by d0g3n
Maybe the best in the city--really. The sushi is extremely fresh. Toro (in season) melts in your mouth. And, on top of it all, it is cheap--sushi for two with sake and dessert can be $40-50.
Pros: inexpensive, great quality sushi, creative house rolls

super teriffic
by sigmundsix
I lived in the heights for a year before I found Iron Chef. Tucked away down Clark, off of Henry, is one of the better sushi restaurants that I've been to-- Manhattan or Brooklyn. The House rolls are unique and served in huge portions. The Green Paper roll (tuna and eel, wrapped in green paper with tobico), the Osaka (shirmp tempura wrapped in eel) and the Yellow Dragon (yellow tail, shrimp, and flying fish roe) are amazing. In all probably 15 house rolls, 10 traditional rolls (yellow tail, eel tempoura, california roll, etc). Sushi and sushimi good quality, fresh, and tasty. Miso, seaweed salad, tempura, all excellent. Sushi snob or no, this place is great. If you're in the Heights, you know how hard it is to find great places to eat. Iron Chef would be good eats no matter what part of the city it was in.
Pros: sushi rolls, service, atmosphere
