Ive been having my hair colored by the team at Christopher Stanley for 6+ years and I feel they are the best in New York. Creativity and innovation is their trademark and their experience shows! Not only is the new salon sleek and sexy, but all of the people that work there are friendly and entertaining. I wouldnt even think of going anywhere else.

I have never left Christophers chair unhappy with my highlights. His talent for choosing and applying the right blond is phenominal. He is an artist in his own right.

Christopher Stanley does a perfect job EVERY SINGLE TIME. They are fun and nice and easy to deal with and the whole experience is fantastic. I would NEVER go anywhere else!

A friend that I am now forever indebted to for such a life-changing discovery, introduced me to Stanley 7 years ago. After experiencing, for the first time in my life, complete satisfaction after every visit (and the straightest hair on the planet!), I was devastated to have to move across the country and consider someone else touching my hair. Of course, Stanley is irreplaceable, so I'm happy to travel all the way from San Francisco for the best haircut and a fun-filled afternoon catch up session with my now, dear friend. The cut is always perfect (and I am VERY picky) and the time that he spends getting to know his clients is a rare treat...just as he is!

Stanely cut my hair for the 5 years I was in NYC. After leaving the city, I missed Stanley more than New York. Now Christopher Stanley Salon is my first stop when I visit New York. No other stylist compares!

I have big curly hair which I realise it quite rare in New York with all these sleek, blow dried women around. I'm from London and have been going to the same hairdresser for 7 years so was absolutely petrified about finding a new stylist to tame my mass of hair. Stanley was recommended to me as a "curls guru"...and indeed he is. He's a brilliant stylist but is also sweet and warm and full of fun.

The salon is clean and bright, the music is tasteful and upbeat, the staff are friendly and helpful (no attitute) and the hairdressers are top notch. What's not to like?

The salon is friendly and hospitable with no attitude. It's truly a pleasure to go and I always look forward to it. Christopher colors my hair and I wouldn't go to anyone else. He understands who each of his customers is and works with them individually. I appreciate that he respects that I'm not trendy though many of his customers are. I'm a lifer with Christopher.

Stanley has cut my hair for over 6 years. His new place is wonderful- friendly, warm, and everyone there is first rate. Highly recommend it. I am an uptowner who travels way down to get there!

Christopher is an amazing colorist - he highlights my grey by making it white and reduces the grey by making it dark - part of me now looks like Cary Grant! My wife wanted Holly Golightly streaked hair and she now looks like Audrey Hepburn! Christopher - a man who knows how to make your dreams come true (and never laughs at you!)

Christopher Stanley Salon is the only salon in NYC that I have gone back to more than twice. With all the top-notch stylists in the City, it is tempting to try the newest and best every time. With CS, I haven't felt that urge because my hair always looks great - not just when I leave the salon, but for weeks and weeks after! Their low-key unpretentious but professional atmosphere is another plus!

I've been going to Stanley for seven years, and no one else could possibly do a better job with my hair. His new salon is pretty, chic and sleek and the staff members and friendly and knowledgeable. It's pricey, but if you're going to be cheap, don't do it with your hair!

A friend recommended Stanley to me when my former stylist was on maternity leave; well, there is no going back! I'm hooked. Great cut, and Stanley is so sweet! The staff is very warm, pleasant and attentive, not to mention multi-talented--great designs on the post cards sent in the mail. You'll instantly feel comfortable there. While the prices are certainly on the higher end, you'll look and feel great--it is money well spent!

A friend recommend Paul to me, and I couldn't be happier with my color. Then while I was waiting for Noelle to free up to cut my hair I got a free deep conditioning treatment. Then the cut was fabulous. So all in all a great experience that left me feeling supremely pampered!

Noelle actually makes my hair look really good - which isn't easy. It's thick and tends to be wild and somewhat frizzy. The Salon as a whole is terrific. The staff is friendly, cool and cooperative. Prices are in-line with the quality of the work. Highly recommend it.

Could I be any prettier? My hair couldn't, that's for sure. This salon is genious. I got a cut with Stanley, color with Chris and a fabulous shampoo by Natasha. I have never looked better in my life...everyone says so! Even my husband said that he feels like he's cheating on me...with me! Thank you all so much.

Great upscale salon without the overblown attitude and ridiculous prices. I arrived early and they got started on me immediately. Henry is fabulous, always giving me exactly the perfect cut that I cannot always articulate. Very talented. And even the shampoo was incredible - long scalp massage was heavenly.

I travel from California to NYC to have my hair cut and highlighted by Stanley. I have been seeing Stanley for four years and have strayed only once. (When I couldn't get to NYC.) What a mistake that was. Fortunately Stanley was there with open arms & scissors to remedy my bad Silicon Valley hairdo.

If you want the creme de la creme of hair colorists - see Paul. Not only incredibly personable and fun to speak with, he is a master of his art. My once dull ashen colored hair had a richness and softness to it that previously did not exist. And his assistant Marie made sure my blow dry resulted in smooth and shiny hair which lasted a full 4 days! I've tried many of the well known salons and found them to be overpriced, arrogant and of mediocre quality. In this city, Christopher Stanley is a true find!

I went to the Christopher Stanley salon last week and have to say the service and results were outstanding. The staff is full of talent -- I had my hair colored by Christopher and was very happy with the results. He gave good advice and an honest opinion on what would look best on me and was right! I reccomend it highly to anyone especially if you are not sure what you want --they are experts you can trust.

All of the stylists, colorists, assistants, and reception staff are fantastic. They are personable, very informed on up-to-date styles and techniques and truly listen to the clients needs and wants. If I'm interested in keeping the same style, my stylist can recreate it every time, but if I want to do something different, however subtle, she makes those changes with ease. Nothing is pretentious about the salon or its staff. I consistently receive compliments on both my cut and color and I spend little to no time styling it on a daily basis. I would never go anywhere else.

Service, warmth & comfort. This is exactly what you get at Christopher Stanley. My Colorist PAUL CUCINELLO just recently joined the rest of the hugely talented staff at Christopher Stanley, many of whom had worked together at "Antonio Prieto". I have been Paul's client for many years, he ALWAYS does something AWESOME with my hair. As my color was applied I realized it felt different. .. there was NO tension in the air as there had been at "Prieto". It was FUN!!! The whole staf was smiling and laughing. This is truly an unpretentious environment where anyone would feel comfortable, and walk ot feeling like a million bucks!!! The salon itself is beautifully understated, open and airy. Both owners Christopher & Stanley seem to make it a point to greet everyone that walks through the door with a warm smile... now that's how you should run a business!!!

I went to Christopher Stanley Salon just before Christmas for a haircut, and recieved one of the best cuts I've ever had. The stylist's name is Henry...I think his last name is Dorego. I went home for Christmas, and even my mother liked my hair. I went out with friends for New Years that I hadn't seen for a while, and they all raved about how great my haircut was! I would recommend Henry and Christopher Stanley Salon to everyone!

Christopher Gamper, he of the blue apron, many tattoos and droll manner, is a master hair colorist. I've seen him take a tired mop of drab mousey and turn it into glam, gleaming highlights worthy of any supermodel. Not only that, this new salon has Stanley Shelmire (hence the salon's name), who is a stylist of unusal subtlety, who is as nice as he is talented. Combine this with wireless internet connections for its clients (they love Macs at this shop), a friendly staff and good music, and you have a salon where waiting for your process to perk means having fun. Highly recommended.

I heard through a friend that my colorist, Paul Cucinello, had left Antonio Prieto Salon...I was DEVASTATED!!!! I spent countless hours searching the internet to find his whereabouts and FINALLY...I found him! This guy is definately THE BEST. Aside from doing flawless work, his meticulous hi-lighting technique CANNOT be replicated or even maintained by another colorist...period. I can finally rest assured that my hair will be back to it's fabulous, one-of-a-kind best.
The new salon is beautiful and understated and exudes the utmost simplicity and charm...a NYC best kept beauty secret :)

every girl needs a dedicated hair guru....and i have found it in christopher!!!!..being his client for 4 years has been a consistent pleasure. And now that he has branched out with his own salon its the ultimate experience. Christopher has created the most pleasant environment, i feel like the only girl in the world when i have his creative attention. The fact that he has been able to establich a joint venture is reflective of his undeniable talent and brilliant attitude to the entire concept of hair -care and coloring. WELL DONE!!!!....ps..the staff looks very very familiar!!!!...whats up with that guys??!!!! lol.....

I finally found them again. I can't beleive it. I have been frantically searching for my haircutter Noelle and colorist Paul since they left Antonio Prieto for weeks. My life is finally back in order. These two are an impeccable team. I'm soooo relieved that I'm in their hands again. I can't recommend them higher. This new salon is beautiful and very comforting!!! Kudos!

I have been to many great salons in NYC...Minardi, Garren, Oribe, Prive...I have had my highlights done by some truly talented colorists and paid for it! A good friend has been a client of Christopher Gamper for over 5 years. She recommended him very highly and I gave it a go. He is a genius. He has made me feel gorgeous again. I don't think I will have to try anyone else..ever.
