THE MANAGEMENT AND PROMOTER ARE RUNNING A SCAM HERE!! Especially for this new party on Saturdays called Latin Saturdays. When I called to ask about the dress code the manager Mohawn stated it was a relaxed dress code and when I got to the venue my friends couldn't get in because they were trying to enforce this very strict dress code that no one knew about, including a girlfriend of mine who had on dressy flats. One of my friends were visibly upset that they did not let about 15 of my friends but did not say anything and they said she not coming in because "she looks like she has an attitude". These are some of the promoters associated with this party (Kirk, Tony T: Yomo) who are also associated with the party hunter website. The worst offender of them all was one black security guard with dreads whose breath smelled horrible and had such a poor attitude towards most of our guests. They charged some people 10 dollars to get in, other people were charged 25 dollars at the door and walk them upstairs, pay the 10 dollars to the cashier and pocket the 15 dollars extra for themselves- what a scam and a rip off!! .

The pillows and chairs they expect you to sit or lay on are filthy with foot prints and weird smells. The DJ played 80% Spanish music, no variety. The best thing about the whole place was the 3 way mirror they had inside the bathroom and that is sad when a mirror is the highlight of your evening. The crowd that they work so hard to seem upscale and posh were a bunch of random people, there was no swag, flavor or real style in this crowd, I was bored to tears!

There were still guys in there with fitted caps, t-shirts, and girls with flats in the party; they just cherry picked who they wanted to come in based on race and how much money they thought they could make off you if you were desperate enough to get in. They also run a bottle scam and stated if you buy about 3-5 bottles they will let you in no matter how your dressed- its was the most disgusting display of business I have ever seen. I went here last year when it was still a great place to be, the management (Marilyn was a pleasure) and the promoters were humble and welcoming, and it was still a great crowd. Now the promoters are scam artists, raciest, deplorable customer service and the management are extremely unprofessional and let the promoters have free reign on how there venue is ran and perceived. I highly suggest you skip this place and go to Madame X, they have a similar red velvet dcor and it's extremely cozy and the door people and promoters are always a pleasure.

Response to the venues comments below from Swettie: Believe me these things in my review are all accurate.

I was there from 10pm till it closed, and it was off the hook, I only got off the dance floor once. My freinds were lovin the Djs, Doug rocked it early and Kaz dropped us off the planet with his beats rocking. Playing everything between them on the planet, English Spanish, whatever it was crazy. The effects of the strobes with the fog created a crazy effect, I went on Friday and it was a different place on Saturday, it was transformed. I was dancing on both days, and it was fun. I am going back, I have to, it was off the hook. I told everyone I knew that they have to come with me next week. I will be the one in the middle of the dance floor. Dj Dougie Redzone and Dj Kaz was blazin, not just hip hop, not just R&B, not just Dance, reggae-ton or latin, they blazed it all. I have to recomend these new people to everyone. The staff kept the drinks flowing and the had drink specials all night. I need to check out their after work parties, heard they were cool too. So come celebrate with us. Those waitresses are off the hook cute, and kept us laughing all night. My freinds were in love with the bartenders. Well, just make mine K Lounge, my new home.

This club-lounge is off the Hook on Friday, it started off smooth, and the Dj knew all the music, House, Hip hop, Latin, Reggae, Reggaeton, even knew African, Brazilian, not to mention Greek and Jewish favorites and played it for us. The appetizers were very tastee, during the Happy Hour, the music was surene, and caught myself singing along. The sound guy was working to get even sharper tones for that night and it was enough to stay and see what was going on. Ashanti was there, Nelly was there, Tachina Arnold was there and of course Ja Rule came through. Been here during the summer and this was Ashanti's place and Dj Kass and Dougie was keeping the dancefloor packed and heads bopping. Even Orlando Bloom said that he wished he had the Dj from K at his event. The servers are cute and quick, but watch some drinks, they will twist u out. The ladies are getting more hot, the guys are dressing better. The place is the next New Spot to be at, So dont listen to the haters on here, listen to me, it is growing to be a hot spot and now coming into its own. So since I am now becoming a regular, I can tell you the place is getting better each time I go. Even Jeff Scott Saturdays is getting better, so come and hear the best little secret in town, that is now having Fashion shows and even has Thursdays afterwork Jazz before becoming a club later on. First club that plays all the hotness, and tip the Dj for your favorite song and they play it. Make K Lounge mine, and cant wait till they open downstairs on the weekend, to make the club 2 floors. You need to check it out and I will buy you drink.

Kamasutra is one of the best lounges i have ever been too. It was my first time having my 27th Birthday at a lounge, The manager Marilyn had given me the best experience i had in a long time. Everything from the decor to the music was great. If anyone would like to go out and have a good time go to Kamasutra K lounge you wont regret it.

Absolutely terrible service! I could not believe how rude and pretentious the staff was. The music selection is terrible, the drinks are over priced, and the food is nothing to write home about. Ever heard of a wetvac? They need one. The pillows were dirty and the carpet had stains. Yuck! Avoid this place if you want to have a good time.

Wow. Looks alright even through it's pretty small, but that immediately gets turned off when you come into contact with the Bartender. Not sure if that was a bartender or some busboy, but he was definitely rude when I had asked my drink to be made a certain way. I mean, I AM paying for it and I was just asking. I go out a lot and when I find rude people at a venue (especially if they work there) I find it's not worth the trouble especially if I'm intending to spend my money there along with my group of friends. Why go here when you can go to a better upscale place, plus, the treatment is way better. The smells there were also odd, a strong pungent oder; not something I like to smell if I'm getting trashed.

Hi. I made the mistake of booking the K Lounge for a corporate event. My guests and I were treated extremely rudely and were not at all give what we promised. Their in-house event planner was particularly rude. This was an event for 200+ people for a major financial house! My understanding from other corporate event planners is that their sister location - Ava Lounge - is to be avoided at all costs, too. A word to the wise.

Met a date here at 8pm on a saturday. My date said that some guy was a bit rude, saw him walking around, manager maybe? who knows.. the place was empty, us and 3 others in the room. The bartender, very friendly, said it was more of a late-night place. Fine with me, able to sit on a couch, have a few drinks from a very friendly and attentive waitress. Incense burning around, red decor everywhere. A good place to meet up w/a date for an early evening drink before heading out. I would go back again for this reason. 3 beers and 3 apple martinis was 60, so you make the decision if it's pricey or average or cheap.

I've been to this loungs several times - once for my birthday when we had made a reservation far in advance. After a couple of hours we were told that we had to move to a really small table with not enough seating for all my guests. Every other time I've been back, my friends and I have been rudely asked to move because the table was suddenly "reserved" - we were never told this when we were originally seated. The guy at the door (perhaps the manager?) is rude and pretentious. The food is grossly over-priced for the size of the servings! The video of old Bollywood films and tacky sculptures in the back room are not exotic!! I could do without this lame excuse for a lounge.

Wow - what a crazy cool place. First of all - take notice of the bizarre, yet cool art on the walls. Very cozy, chill place. Great for an after work drink or a date. Worth the shlep to mid-town. Pillow room in the back is my favorite.

Having drinks at K Lounge was a fun and interesting experience. The decor evokes a seductive and somewhat ironic journey into an exotic Indian dive. The lounge is deeply dark, and strewn with bamboo-shrouded candlelit couches that work quite well for discreet snuggling. But not too serious, though, because the sheer goofiness of the place keeps bubbling to the forefront. The cheesy but fun music ranged from 80's pop to Bali rap and was the perfect counterbalance to the whole scene -- diorama and all. I wouldn't consider this a place to meet anyone, but it could be fun place to take your date home early from.

Pros: Dark, Strange, Surreal

Cons: Silly music, Mildly annoying crowd

Lots of phoney balonies, mediocre drinks and pretense for no good reason. As a previous reviewer mentioned, the place has bad acoustics. The Seventies are over-we have the technology to play loud music AND be able to carry on a conversation with someone next to you provided the establishment is willing to pay the price for quality sound equipment. If you want real hip go to Time or the Flatotel.

This is one of the most creative places to open in New York in a long time. The Indian theme is unique. Entering the place for the first time, it felt like a speakeasy as one has no idea this hip hot spot would be above a midtown Indian restaurant.

Ask the bartender to make you a drink featuring the new Zygo energy vodka. Refreshing and fun.

This is a lounge with beautiful decor, an excellent intimate atmosphere, and stunning waitresses and bartenders.

Every time I've gone here I have been treated right. The staff is friendly, accomodating and know how to mix drinks.

Bring a date here because you aren't going to find an atmosphere more intimate anywhere. Just head to the back room and sit on the many throw pillows and cushions on the floor.

I'm not sure what to make of the reviewer who gave this place a 1. Even if the drinks here were the worst in the city, the atomosphere alone is worth a 7.

Went here for a friend's birthday. Stayed for about half an hour. You don't have to know this was once the upstairs of a restaurant posing as a hip club-it is painfully obvious. The coctails (at least my basic gin and tonic) were awfull, the music piped in by cheap round ceiling speakers(ugh!!),alot of B&T types trying to look cutting edge(and like this place not quite pulling it off which I suppose was apt) and poor airconditioning(I was sitting still sipping my drink and was perspiring!). Forget this dive.

It starts with the vibe, which is great. Splendid decor. Great setup. Good diverse crowd, as well as diverse music.
Didn't run into any problems at the door, but I did have 2 girls with me. The drinks, which everyone swears are super strong, weren't as advertised on Saturday.
While there were a lot of girls there, the level of talent wasn't off the charts or anything. Ratio was good (more girls than boys), but not amazing.
The venue is small, but intimate. I'll definitely be back.

Visited the K Lounge yesterday evening, only to find the gentleman (if you can even call them) at the door to be extraordinarily rude, which was surprising given that the place was empty! In addition, the drinks were mediocre. If I was in that area of town, I would rather go to Town at the Chamber Hotel, Tao or Lite.

This is one of my new favorites. In addition to an amazing, Indian come kama sutra themed lounge area, the female staff was very friendly and accommodating. Met a group of friends here on a Monday night and we all had a ball. Arrived at 7pm and stayed until the wee hours on account of fantastic service that kept the (powerful) drinks flowing. You can lay back (literally) and enjoy the company and ambience around you. Deepak Chopra's sons done good.
