THE WORST. I took the bus from NY->DC on 12/14.Driver was rude from start; spoke little English. The bus got a flat tire on I-95S. Then bus died. We had no lights, no hazard lights & no emergency flares. All the driver could say is BUS COMING. The number for Eastern Travel didn??t work. A woman had the driver call the company, they said NO BUS,TOW TRUCK. We called police, police arrived & spoke to the company; a truck arrived to repair the tire. Once tire was repaired we asked police not to go since bus was dead. They didn??t listen & left. Bus didn??t start. We began rolling on the shoulder with no engine. Passengers screamed & he stopped. We grabbed our stuff & stood outside. Police said wouldn??t return. Were stuck for over 3 hrs. Another bus company picked us up. I called for a refund & Eastern Travel won??t talk.1st they said they??d call back & didn??t. Called again, they said email, their email doesn't work. They told me to contact gotobus.com; I said they sent me to you. He said no refund. Reported Eastern to BBB.

A trip from DC to NYC costs only $35 round trip per person, so the price is definitely great. But the employees of the bus company yell in English and Chinese to get on the bus, to put your bags away, that you cannot get a break at the rest stop, etc. The price is fantastic, and the buses usually are on time and where they are supposed to be, so if you can deal with the employees, then this bus line is for you. The pickups and dropoffs are always near subway lines, so getting to the bus is fairly easy. The other passengers are usually great. I have gone on two round trips with them, but on my next trip to NYC, I probably will take the more expensive train or plane.
