We decided to have an Italian dinner one evening so at our concierges suggesting we went to this wonderful place across the street Seated immediately with a very friendly server we decided to try a few of the house specialitiesMy husband had the Minestrone soup, which has always been a favorite of his, this one was as good as any he has had in the past, chock full of all the ingredients Minestrone is noted for. I had the soup of the day, Pumpkin soup, which was just sublime...
We then decided to share an appetizer, another favorite of ours, Mozzarella Di Bufala Caprese at $10.50, a a bit steep but the Mozzarella was so fresh, the tomatoes perfectly ripe and the Basil was plentiful, not just one or two skimpy pieces as some restaurants serve, so it was well worth it. With 12 Antipasti/ appetizers on the menu all ranging in price from, $7.00 for a mixed green salad to $14.00 for Frito Misto, Fried Calamari and Shrimp served with marinara sauce, there is something for everyones taste.
As for entrees, we had a very difficult time deciding what to have since everything coming out of the kitchen looked wonderful, but decide we must so we chose a pasta dish and a fish dish to round out our meal. The Raviolini Alla Piemontese, miniature raviolis stuffed with ground beef, spinach and parmesan in a butter and Rosemary sauceI love the flavor of Rosemary and this was a perfect selection for me with that marvelous flavor at every bite. At $17.00 it too was a bit costly but we were in New York after all. Hubby decided on the Risotto Al Frutti De Mare, seafood and shellfish risotto, and thought it was one of the best Risottos hes ever had. The seafood was as fresh as could be and flavored perfectly
All in all this was a fantastic meal and I would go back in a heartbeat
